Chapter 7 - Ch.4, Pt.4

"Finally, we have the funnest part if you're a real soldier. Combat. You'll be doing one v ones against our combat bots. We will be doing 5 minute rounds in the arena with all you've got. Even magic." Cpt.Turner says happily.

"I am gonna speedrun this. Especially if we can use equipment." Tina says happily.

"You may use standard army equipment. No personal equipment until inspected and approved by our arms master." Cpt.Turner says warmly.

We all groan. Everyone has custom gear, it seems.

"Ruben, you go first. I want to see a Rosewood fight with this gear the most. Show off any secrets they may have, please." Cpt.Turner says, happy and eager.

"I'll try. But only special grade stuff has erm... secret moves." I say sheepishly.

"Damn. Ah well, let's rock. We're walking over to the arena." Cpt.Turner says, slightly disappointed.

We head over there, some of us shaking with anticipation. Myself included. Tina gets close to me and draws a heart on my neck.

"You're gonna do great. Don't hold back, leader." she says, warm and mischievous. "Or you don't get that spot." she teases.

I smile, embarrassed and slightly aroused. She's flirting hard. Which Hemlock has said wouldn't surprise him. Cause I'm a rich, groomed kid like Tina Winterwood here.

"Probably wants you to stop being gay as well, the groomers." I imagine him saying in my mind.

"You look good as a soldier. What do you think of me in soldier gear?" Tina asks warmly.

I take a moment to appreciate her body and beauty. She looks-

"You look great. Powerful and sexy." I flirt.

I cringe at myself for being so blunt about it while Tina giggles.

"You're still shy. It's a miracle you said that sober." Tina says happily.

"Quit flirting, you'll get my soldiers soft." Cpt.Turner jokes.

We all chuckle a bit at that, then arrive at the arena. It's basically a super futuristic Roman Coliseum. About the height of five stories, circular, concrete pillars wrapped around all of it, spaced out by about 10 feet. And flags hanging off each pillar horizontally, mainly American flags and brands. Like Rosewood. Or Busch beer.

We enter through a set of double doors, and meet the training room from the X-Men.

"Remember, you first Ruben." Tina says warmly.

"We'll be up these stairs, watching in the Viewer's Box." Cpt.Turner says warmly.

I enter the arena through an automatic door. The floors and walls are shiny steel that you can kind of see yourself reflected on. And in the center is a skinny, metal robot. All smooth, reflective steel. No noticeable weapons either.

"Alright Ruben, five seconds to focus. Then we start."Cpt.Turner says happily.

I breathe in and out. And begin readying wind blades when the Bot surges with energy. His lined exterior glows bright blue. And he marches forward in a normal boxing stance, footsteps heavy and metallic.

I unleash four wind blades, and they fly out my hands at the bot. Surprising, it uses jet flames to dodge sharply left.

"Woah! It's a challenger, bros!" Jimmy yells, impressed.

I make a powerful wind scythe blade grow out of each forearm for melee. I dash forward at high speed, aided by my mind magic. Robot keeps charging at high speeds. I slip past him by leaping high into the air, flipping upside down, and slitting its throat with a X-Cross slash.

"Good job Ruben! That kills a man, A+!" Robot cheers happily.

I land and stare at it, confused.

"The Robot judges us?" I ask, confused.

"Yeah, we just enjoy the show. Ruben, get back here, Tina is next." Cpt.Turner says warmly.
