Chapter 15:
Shin explains that he can connect magic and its formulas, allowing him to create combined attacks.
The Nature Spirits look at him, confused.
"What are you getting at?" one of them asks.
Shin answers calmly, "Prepare your strongest attacks. All four of you. I'll buy you time. Go far away from here."
They hesitate but they trust Shin. Without another word, they retreat into the distance.
Shin turns to Mira.
"Prepare yourself," he says. "I'll need your mana."
Before she can answer, Francisco now fully transformed into the Demonknight turns around and attacks.
Shin dodges instantly.
"Where are the other five?" the Demonknight asks coldly.
"That's none of your business, monster," Shin replies.
The Demonknight chuckles. "Clever… for a human."
Shin laughs and strikes back with ice magic, but the attack passes through uselessly.
Physical mana doesn't work… Shin realizes.
He switches instantly and draws the Sun Sword.
The blade cuts into the Demonknight's left arm it bleeds.
"I see," Shin mutters. "Only objects that can affect souls or spirits can hurt you."
He keeps moving, dodging and striking bit by bit. Then he notices something
a faint, glowing light inside the Demonknight's chest.
That must be it… I need to destroy that core.
Suddenly, the Demonknight grabs Shin and throws him more than a hundred meters away.
Shin stabilizes himself mid air and lands roughly, sliding across the ground.
The Demonknight is already attacking again.
This time, he forms a sword made of pure darkness.
When their blades clash, the Sun Sword and the dark blade collide violently
both fighters are blown backward by the impact.
They exchange sword strikes for hours.
Steel against darkness. Light against shadow.
Eventually, Shin's body begins to give out. He stumbles, almost falling but forces himself back up.
He activates water magic, wrapping it around his body. His movements become faster, smoother.
At the same time, he uses Null Magic to sharpen the Sun Sword beyond its limits.
With a single, precise slash, Shin lands a heavy blow.
The Demonknight takes real damage.
Shin continues swinging relentlessly.
The Demonknight realizes the danger and begins dodging instead.
Using his momentum, Shin kicks him hard and sends him crashing into the ground.
The Demonknight laughs as he lies there.
"Shin… do you know who really rules this world?"
Shin narrows his eyes. "What are you talking about?"
The Demonknight laughs louder.
"Not kings. Not Magia. Not dragons or angels.
The world is ruled by those who decide the value of power."
"What do you mean by power?" Shin asks.
"Corrupted beings," the Demonknight answers.
"Those who enslave, kill, threaten, and harm others.
Power has been given more meaning than it ever should have because people are greedy."
Shin exhales slowly.
"You might be right. But that doesn't matter right now."
He raises his sword.
"Power only exists because others allow it. So let's continue."
The Demonknight grins. "Gladly."
In the next moment, Shin moves faster than the Demonknight can perceive.
The strike lands directly on his head.
Impossible… the Demonknight thinks. No human should be this fast.
But it doesn't matter anymore.
He raises his hand and unleashes darkness magic.
"Dark Rift."
The space itself begins to tear apart.
Shin counters instantly, summoning water blades that cut through the distortion.
"It's too late," the Demonknight says calmly.
"The space will be consumed by darkness."
"That won't happen," Shin answers.
Darkness spreads through the area.
The Demonknight laughs so loudly that the sound itself shatters the air.
Suddenly
Shin hears nothing.
I can't hear…
He closes his eyes and focuses.
Instead of sound or sight, he senses mana flows everywhere around him.
"I see it now…"
Shin reaches out not physically, but with intent and attacks the Demonknight's mana flow directly.
With his eyes closed, Shin sees nothing.
He relies entirely on instinct.
And he does not hesitate.
What will Shin do without any orientation?
