Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Where did my big Thunder go???

"Adrian, although your Gyarados used Bounce to evade Nidoking's attack, temporarily escaping danger, he also put himself in a perilous situation. It's truly not worth it."

Gary pointed at the Gyarados twisting its body and slowly descending from mid-air, and shouted, "Nidoking, use Rock Tomb!"

"Nido~"

After a slight power-up, Nidoking's rock-type energy surged out, forming a dozen human-head-sized rock projectiles around his body. They became a barrage of stones that enveloped Gyarados, leaving him no escape.

Adrian frowned, "Are rock-type moves really this powerful?"

Nidoking's Rock Tomb, even if Golem were to use it, might not achieve a better effect.

The crucial point was the wide area of effect, and Gyarados's body was so massive that he simply couldn't dodge it.

"Gyarados, meet it head-on! Use Waterfall with full power!"

Adrian also became ruthless, finally deciding to go all out.

"Aoh roo~"

With a roar, Gyarados's water-type energy began to condense wildly around his body, quickly forming a large amount of water spray that enveloped his entire form, like a fierce water dragon emerging from the depths.

At the same time, an astonishing aura erupted from Gyarados, and he charged towards the incoming rock projectiles as if facing death unflinchingly.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Under the enhancement of the rain, Gyarados's Waterfall move received a significant power boost. The incoming rock projectiles were all deflected by Gyarados.

Immediately after, Gyarados charged fearlessly towards Nidoking, the instigator.

A normal Nidoking is only 1.4 meters tall, but Gary's Nidoking was exceptionally well-trained, so he was nearly 1.8 meters tall, with a terrifying presence.

However, compared to Gyarados, Nidoking's size was still insufficient, like a small child.

Most importantly, Nidoking possesses the Ground type, allowing water-type moves to deal double damage.

If Gyarados's Waterfall could land, Nidoking would undoubtedly be defeated.

Watching Gyarados, shaking his tail and charging, both Gary and Nidoking were unprecedentedly calm, though their eyes held a hint of excitement.

It wasn't until Gyarados got close that Gary finally moved, shouting, "Thunder Punch to meet him!"

"Damn it!"

Upon hearing this, Adrian immediately cursed, thinking, "Sure enough, when battling a powerful trainer like Gary, you can't have any lucky (jiao xing - luck/wishful thinking) mentality."

However, it was too late now; the arrow was on the string, and Adrian couldn't back down even if he wanted to.

Because Gary let Gyarados get close before attacking, he didn't want to give him a chance to retreat.

Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle!

Nidoking's huge fist clenched, and arcs of lightning began to flicker on it.

In contrast, Gyarados also roared, gathering all his strength, and charged head-on.

Adrian and Gary both had serious expressions; success or failure hinged on this one move.

The two sides collided like Mars hitting Earth, neither daring to give an inch.

"Pichu~"

At the same time, the pokémon Pichu, who was feasting in Gary's car, also widened its eyes and looked at the battlefield, its diamond-shaped ears twitching slightly.

Who would win?

But just then, an unexpected change occurred.

Beep! Beep!

In Pichu's pink electric sac, a spark of electricity suddenly flashed, seemingly out of control.

Immediately after, the electric-type energy on Nidoking's fist, not far away, seemed to be pulled, suddenly transforming into a thick bolt of electricity that flew towards Pichu.

"Pika?"

Pichu just felt completely numb.

I was just eating snacks and watching the fun, why did the lightning suddenly come for me?

Pichu wanted to escape, but couldn't!

Boom!

The thick bolt of electricity struck Pichu, who immediately started smoking, his fur scorched black, and he fell to the ground.

Due to its small size, Pichu's electric sac couldn't handle too much electricity. The overflowing electric-type energy even scorched Gary's luxury car, almost causing it to fall apart... On the battlefield, Nidoking was also stunned.

Where's my lightning?

Where's my huge lightning?

Thunder Punch without lightning is just a punch!

But how could Nidoking possibly defeat the fierce water dragon opposite him with just a punch?

A normal attack against a powerful move?

What's the point of fighting!

As expected, the next second, Nidoking, with a panicked expression, was knocked down by the giant Gyarados, his body dragging on the ground for dozens of meters.

His punch, without the electric-type energy enhancement, was no different from a tickle on Gyarados, unable to even break a scale.

The more Nidoking struggled, the more excited Gyarados felt.

He absolutely loved this feeling!

A massive amount of water spray enveloped Nidoking, causing him to struggle continuously and wail in pain.

He felt like he couldn't breathe!

Before long, Nidoking stopped struggling, his eyes spinning in circles as he lost his ability to battle.

"Nidoking!"

Seeing this, Gary's face was filled with anxiety, and he immediately ran over to check Nidoking's injuries.

"This..."

Adrian also felt a bit bewildered.

It was originally a evenly matched duel, where the victor was hard to predict.

But now, it resulted in Gyarados's overwhelming advantage.

He won!

Thinking of this, Adrian couldn't help but look in the direction of Gary's luxury car, wondering, "What exactly happened?"

Because Pichu was too small, and the incident happened so suddenly, Adrian didn't clearly see what exactly occurred.

"Pi~ Pichu~"

Just then, the scorched Pichu crawled out from under the car, swaying, spitting out a puff of black smoke from its mouth, and electrical sparks continuously flickered at its electric sac, making crackling sounds.

"Pichu!"

Adrian instantly understood, "So, this Pichu's ability is Lightning Rod?"

Lightning Rod: Draws in Electric-type moves, takes no damage, and raises Special Attack.

The electric-type energy contained in Nidoking's Thunder Punch just now, upon encountering Lightning Rod, became uncontrollable and was directly drawn away.

It's just that this Pichu seemed young, and its electric sac hadn't fully developed, so its electricity storage capacity was very limited, leading to the overflow of electricity that scorched itself.

If it were a Pikachu instead, it would only find the electricity delicious, not only taking no damage but also raising its Special Attack.

"You scoundrel! You not only ruined this battle and caused Nidoking's defeat, but you also damaged my car!"

After confirming Nidoking was fine and recalling him, Gary saw Pichu and immediately understood the whole situation. His eyes were filled with rage, and he gnashed his teeth, "I won't let you off!"

Gary was truly furious this time!

"Pichu~"

Knowing he had caused a huge mess, Pichu first gave an awkward smile, then immediately took off, slipping into a nearby bush and disappearing.

"I won't let you get away!"

Gary angrily took out a pokémon ball and threw it, "Sweetheart, help me catch that Pichu."

This was a small dog pokémon, with an orange-yellow base color, a cream-colored muzzle, underside, and tail, black stripes on its back and limbs, and a cream-colored mane on its head and neck.

It was the Fire-type pokémon—Growlithe!

"Woof woof!"

Growlithe barked a few times, then immediately ran to where Pichu disappeared and sniffed a few times with its nose.

Heaven and earth boundless, tracking for miles!

Before long, Growlithe locked onto Pichu's scent.

Immediately after, it led the way and plunged into the bushes.

"Good job, Growlithe!"

Gary praised him and quickly followed.

Thinking of Pichu's Lightning Rod ability, Adrian's eyes flickered.

Most rain team pokémon have the Water type, and one of Water type's weaknesses is the Electric type.

But if a pokémon with the Lightning Rod ability were included in a rain team, that Electric-type weakness could be circumvented.

Furthermore, under rain, Thunder also has a guaranteed hit effect, which is another major weapon.

"Let's go follow them and see!"

Thinking of this, Adrian also quickly followed.
