Bang! Ron slammed his door open his eyes blazing with fury, looking around the street he saw a distant figure slowly fading into the crowded marketplace, upon seeing this Ron bellowed in anger and charged towards it, his large belly jiggling as he did, but alas he was too late the figure was gone leaving only the furious potbellied baker and a rather alarmed crowd.
Magnus chuckled as he heard the owner of the bakery store he had just stolen from burst into a stream of profanity.
"I got a good amount this time"
Magnus grinned his dull gray eyes lighting up in delight as he searched around the worn sack and noticed some glowing fragments inside.
"57 credit shards, who knew running a bakery was so profitable?"
Noticing that some guards notified of the situation were beginning to search for the thief Magnus silently disengaged from the crowd of shoppers slipping into a nearby alleyway, searching around he located a small rusty manhole and slid down the ladder into the putrid sewers below.

A couple hours later Magnus sighed as he saw what he had been searching for.
"About time."
Looking at the the dark hole in the otherwise smooth stone walls of the sewer he pulled a small flashlight from a pouch sewn into his ragged, hole fulled clothes Magnus headed towards his home, The Underground.
The Underground, a series of massive underground tunnels used to harvest any earthen material this planet could offer before being turned into a Hive World, was home to the lowest of the low fulled with criminals, beggars, addicts the lowest of scum.
Magnus gazed at the various posters plastered to the rocky walls full of motivational quotes and reminders.
"Serving the Galactic Federation is our greatest joy" "Join our space force and help humanity expand out of the Milky Way" and most often of all "humanity will carve its own path throughout the stars and no fracture will stop us"
The fracture begun a few decades ago, just as the Galactic Federation prepared to push humanity out towards other galaxies, they discovered the fractures and from those fractures came creatures never before seen in this universe, creatures previously believed to be mere imagination and worship.
These mythological beings, beings of Light and Darkness emerged and went to battle with each other and seeing this humanity felt a resurgence in a old religion, one that had been forgotten tens of thousands of years ago when humans first began to inhabit places outside of their home world.
Sadly their faith was ill placed.
The beings, as holy or nefarious as they appeared, gave no care for humanity, focused only on slaughtering the enemy drowning entire star systems in blood and death.
However The Federation saw in these creatures a opportunity, thus religion was outlawed and The Federation would declare war upon them, shockingly as humanity fought people began to emerge with powers equal to the Angels and Demons and these people became known as the Blessed.
Magnus exhaled and continued walking forwards his credit shards now tucked in a small pouch slung around his neck, his sleek black hair now a dull gray from the great quantities of dust he had gathered from walking under the stoney ceiling the last few hours a golden sun medallion pinned to his worn shirt.
The last thing his parents had ever left for he and his sister, not that his sister cared.
"I should be arriving in a couple more hours"
Magnus murmured seeing that he had arrived at a crossroad, turning down the left tunnel he continued walking, suddenly he stuttered to a pause.
His flashlight fizzled for a few seconds as Magnus shook it a few times in a attempt to light back up to no avail.
He let out a tired sigh and took out a battery out of his pouch.
The dazzling light once again burst out of the flashlight.
Wait... what is that?"
A strange reddish lump was illuminated in the light blocking the path forwards, its texture seemingly soft and spongey.
Feeling repulsed and rather unsettled Magnus began to slowly retreat away from the object.
Suddenly low throbbing pulse rippled from the disturbing "thing" in front of him.
A blinding flash of pain slammed into his skull, he fell to the floor writhing agony clutching at his cranium a strange sense of hunger enveloping his body.
A sharp splintering crack rang out echoing around the tunnel but Magnus had already begun drifting into unconsciousness, then the world went black.
