Chapter 2 - 2

----------------------------------------------

Soon, a week had passed.

Alex spent his first week gathering basic supplies—wood, stone—built a simple house, and began leveling the surrounding area. As any good Minecraft player knows, choosing a good location for a first base is important.

Alex chose to build his in the middle of a plains biome. After flattening the area, he used oak and birch wood to construct a simple but pleasing-looking building from the outside. His next step was to prepare and stockpile food.

"Although my hunger bar depletes slowly, it's better to ensure a steady supply to avoid future inconveniences. But first, I need iron." After inquiring with Nova, Alex soon found a cave near his house and began mining.

The sensation of mining was hard to describe—being in a dark place while breaking block after block of ore could only be described as tense. Alex soon found himself calling Nova to keep him company.

The process of mining ore and preparing crops lasted about 14 days in standard Minecraft time, and on the 15th day, Nova came to him with news. "Mr. Alex, I can now create a pair of human beings. Would you like me to do so?" Alex was a little surprised by the question, but replied shortly after.

"Well, I don't really like being alone, and the solitude is starting to bother me. So, yes, go ahead," he said. With his permission, Nova began the process. A brief flash of blue light appeared in front of him, and soon crying echoed in the air.

"Wait, it can't be," Alex said, looking down to find two blocky babies—one with dark hair and a redhead—crying loudly. "Babies? I thought you'd call adults," he said in surprise, quickly scooping up the two little ones.

"I cannot create adult intelligent life, Mr. Alex. After all, what constitutes an intelligent being is the consciousness developed during growth. Doing otherwise would just create an empty shell," Nova explained while circling around Alex, who let out a long sigh.

Thus, Alex ended up naming the first two humans of this world Steve and Eve, in honor of the first blocky man and the first woman of the world.

And so time passed.

I should note that maturation in this world was very rapid—it took only 5 days for a baby to become a child, and another 10 to become an adult. Soon, Alex found himself surrounded by the first grown generation of Steve and Eve, along with their children and other children Nova had created.

Unlike him, the people of this world received a class upon reaching adulthood, corresponding to the profession they engaged in most during their growth. Steve ended up becoming a Miner, and Eve a Farmer.

Things soon became lively: new houses were built, new roles were assigned, and Alex quickly realized that creating a new community of human beings was quite challenging.

He had to handle education, assign duties and tasks, teach the children to speak and communicate, teach others to build, hunt, and mine. He soon found himself extremely busy.

During his first year in this new world, Alex built a small village, directly and informally electing himself as king, and began planning his future while taking responsibility for what he had started.

First, Alex ordered the world's difficulty to be changed from Peaceful to Normal. The effects were immediate: on the very first night, the village was attacked by zombies and skeletons, and panic spread among the villagers. Thankfully, thanks to the fence Alex had ordered built, containing the attack wasn't difficult.

He calmly took a stone sword and shield, showing the villagers how to fight the monsters. However, he soon felt a little embarrassed, remembering that combat was different in the game.

With difficulty, Alex learned how to strike properly with the sword and killed the first zombie at the fence. "You see? Just cut them down until they stop moving," he said, and several villagers nodded in understanding.

"Remember: avoid being exposed in open fields without armor, and don't enter dark places alone. Understood?" He continued instructing them on how to fight monsters.

"Thinking about it now, I should probably establish an army. After all, I plan to go to the Nether, and realistically speaking, fighting a horde of monsters alone is madness," Alex thought.

"I should also practice on my own—skills will definitely make a difference." Despite his thoughts, the night soon passed, and daybreak declared the end of the monster attacks for that night.

10 Years Later.

First City: HOPE.

POV Hector, 124th descendant of Steve and Eve.

Hector looked at the long line of young people enlisting in the Army and sighed. He had been born 14 days ago, and tomorrow was the day he would become an adult, his body maturing.

Not only him, but most of the youths in line were also in this period of maturation. According to his father, King Alexander had told stories of great men and women who enlisted to protect their loved ones from monsters and other evil beings.

From his earliest days until now, Hector had heard countless stories told by Alex to the villagers and passed down to their children. And it was with this in mind that he came here today to enlist, hoping to secure the Soldier class before adulthood.

(Author's Note: Physical appearance varies among the people—they all possess distinguishing characteristics.)

Soon, his turn came, and he stood before a robust man conducting the enlistment. The man's name was Caesar, baptized directly by the King and trained to serve as the army commander.

Hector felt nervous before the older man, who soon began asking questions. "Name."

"Hector, sir. Son of Joseph, descendant of Steve," he said with conviction. Caesar looked him in the eyes. "A descendant of the first ones. Are you sure you don't want to be a farmer or miner like your elders, young man?" Caesar asked calmly.

"I wish to serve in the army and protect our people," Hector said. Caesar gave a slight smile before signaling and noting something in the book. "Very well. You are free to go to the camp and take the tests. But know that if you do not receive the Soldier class tomorrow, you will be expelled."

Caesar warned him, and soon Hector found himself escorted to the military camp near the city walls.
