Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: In Konoha, Starting with a Talent Attribute System!

Thwack!

"Ugh... where am I?"

Liang Jie woke up groggily, something was having just smacked on the back of his head. He reached up to rub that sore spot, only to hear children's laughter echoing around him.

His eyes snapped open.

Inside the classroom, near the Wooden desks are a bunch of little kids staring at him, who keep giggling.

On the stage stood an angry-looking man, his face flushed red as he shouted, "Ryosuke Yagami! Sleeping in class again?!"

"Get outside and stand in the hallway as punishment!"

Ryosuke Yagami? Me?

Liang Jie blinked in confusion. Fragmented images suddenly flashed through his mind—memories that weren't his, yet somehow were. He stumbled to his feet and shuffled toward the classroom door in a daze.

Halfway there, a kid with a small white puppy perched on his head, Kiba Inuzuka, stuck out his leg with a mischievous grin.

Ryosuke glanced down at the little troublemaker and stepped right over the outstretched foot without breaking stride.

SMACK!

"Ow!" Kiba yelped, clutching his head where Iruka-sensei's chalk had nailed him square on the forehead.

"Kiba Inuzuka! No tripping your classmates!" Iruka barked, his sharp eyes sweeping across the room. Then they locked onto someone else—Shikamaru, who was lazily leaning back in his seat with his hands behind his head, looking way too relaxed for someone who'd just been caught whispering instructions.

"And you, Nara Shikamaru! I saw you put him up to it! Get outside and stand in the hallway with Yagami Ryosuke!"

"Nara Shikamaru! You too—go stand in the hallway with Yagami Ryosuke!"

Wait, what? Shikamaru?

The teacher's furious roar followed him out the door.

A moment later, a boy with a pineapple-shaped haircut and dead-fish eyes shuffled out of the classroom, taking his place beside Ryosuke.

"Ryosuke, we're getting punished to stand again today," Shikamaru muttered lazily.

"Ah... yeah."

Liang Jie's response came automatically. His mind was still a fog of swirling memories—strange yet familiar images that made it impossible for him to focus.

Shikamaru glanced at him, probably noticing something was off. Ryosuke seemed... different today. But Shikamaru wasn't the type to pry. His sharp mind told him when to ask questions and when to mind his own business.

Besides... that's way too troublesome.

He looked back up at the clouds drifting lazily across the sky. Hmm... that one looks like a rabbit.

Several minutes later.

"So... I'm Ryosuke Yagami now? This is the Naruto world?!"

Ryosuke had finally finished sorting through the jumbled memories of the past ten years.

"I died... and ended up here."

He let out a bitter laugh.

Ten years ago, he'd transmigrated into this world. But for some reason, his memories from his past life had never awakened—until now. Only today, thanks to the system's activation, had those memories finally surfaced, allowing him to truly take control of this body.

"System... are you there?" he called out in his mind.

[Ding~!]

[Host's past life memories detected. Binding system...]

Wait, no emotional buildup? Just straight to business?

A few seconds passed.

[Ding~!]

[Binding complete! Welcome to the [Talent Attribute System]!]

Finally!

Ryosuke's heart raced. "System, what can you do?"

This was the Naruto world—a place where danger lurked around every corner. And he was stuck in Konoha Village, the same village that would be leveled by Pain's Six Paths in just a few years.

He had no intention of experiencing death a second time.

Not to mention, there was still the Chunin Exams to worry about.

Ryosuke Yagami wasn't one of the main twelve characters from the original story. Hell, he didn't even remember seeing his own name in the series. He was probably just some random background kid who didn't even make it to graduation.

No worse than an extra. A background character.

"This is bad. Ten whole years was wasted! If the system had awakened me sooner, I wouldn't be this weak." Ryosuke rubbed his temples in frustration.

He was ten years old and couldn't even perform the Academy's Three Basic Techniques properly which are: Transformation, Clone, and Body Replacement. His talent was abysmal.

After all, a student who sleeps through class is either a genius like Nara Shikamaru... or a complete failure like Ryosuke Yagami.

So right now, Ryosuke was desperately hoping this system was powerful enough to help him survive.

Ideally, he'd reach Kage-level strength before the Chunin Exams. That way, he might actually survive Orochimaru's Konoha Crush plan.

[This system provides the host with high-quality talent attributes to enhance survival ability in this world.]

[The host may convert talent attributes by obtaining biological pheromones from others.]

[The host has one conversion opportunity per day. Unused opportunities do not accumulate.]

[Talent attributes can be equipped or dismantled. Dismantling grants experience points.]

[Experience points can be used to upgrade talent attribute levels.]

[The higher the talent attribute level, the stronger the effect!]

Biological pheromones? Like hair, blood, cells?

"Host, you have a newbie gift pack available. Would you like to claim it?" the system suddenly asked.

"Yes! Claim it now!"

Ryosuke's pulse quickened. He'd almost forgotten about the starter pack!

[Ding~!]

[Congratulations! You have opened the [Newbie Gift Pack] and obtained the talent attribute: [Child of Destiny]!]

A brilliant golden light flashed before his eyes, nearly blinding him.

Golden?! A golden legendary?!

And the name—Child of Destiny—sounded ridiculously overpowered!

WHOOSH!

An information panel materialized in front of him.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

[Host: Ryosuke Yagami]

[Talent Attributes:]

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

[Child of Destiny (Gold)]

[Description: You are the legendary darling of fate itself. When facing danger, misfortune transforms into fortune. Luck walks beside you always.]

[When encountering fatal danger:]

[All Stats: +500%]

[Enemy Bad Luck Probability: +1000%]

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

[Daily Conversions Remaining: 1]

[Biological Pheromone Warehouse: Empty]

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Ryosuke stared at the glowing panel, his jaw slack.

"Holy crap... this attribute is insane!"

Not only did his overall strength increase fivefold when in danger, but his enemies would become ten times more unlucky?

That meant anyone trying to kill him would probably trip over their own feet, choke on their food, or walk straight into a trap the moment they stepped outside.

Ryosuke couldn't help but feel a twinge of pity for his future enemies.

Poor bastards. I hope you can handle it.
