Lydia nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard the man's voice and felt a hand land on her shoulder.
"Victor?" Lydia blurted. "What the fuck are you doing here?"
The man standing in front of her was none other than Victor Beaumont. He wore a pair of dark jeans paired with a puffer jacket and a baseball cap. Despite his profession as a politician, Victor never really cared about dressing properly in his everyday life, a part of him that Lydia had criticized for as long as she could remember.
"What do you mean by 'what I'm doing here'?" Victor put his hands in his jacket pockets. "What are YOU doing here?"
Lydia turned her head away from Victor. "Uh, nothing. I'm just on a... vacation. Yeah, I'm taking a vacation."
Victor sat down beside the princess. "Don't lie to me, Lydia. I know you ran away from the Palace."
Lydia said nothing, her jaw tightening.
"You can give me the silent treatment all you like, but I know the truth."
