Chapter 4 - Desert...or not...

"How did you got along with Cowaresis?"

Deborah asked before Alex could. He had a serious expression on his face like he was talking about whose porn collection was superior.

Alex got serious as well. He remembered what the people had said to him before. They said vessel... or something like that.

Alex was now very curious as to what this fear of Cowaresis was all about.

"What do you mean? Wasn't that just a normal Cow? What's so special about it?"

He said as he munched on the food and... he was right. Nothing special about the food. But something extraordinary was happening infront. Deborah seemed triggered for some reason.

He slammed his hand on the table. Fiercely looking at Alex like he just said he was a gay.

"NORMAL COW!? Do you have any fucking idea what do you even mean!?"

Deborah yelled at Alex. His voice rising and falling.

"...No."

Alex said. Confused.

"Of course you don't cause your an idiot!! Tell me this! How the fuck do you think a herbivore like a Cow can SurVIVe, in a place where creatures shit pile is bigger then my HOUESE!?"

Deborah was breathing heavy now. But then he got back to eating and starting to eat aggressively.

Alex who was already half done slowed down a bit.

'Now that I think about it, he is right... and I didn't even see anything else like Mowmow at all...'

"I get it now. Mo-Cowarisis is special. But how?"

"Special? JUST SpeCIAL? Dude, that thing is a Myth! A fucking Myth!! It's the Carrier of Destruction or Prosperity!! A mythical creature only appears when something world changing is about to START!! AND YOU SAY JUST SPECIAL!?!?"

Alex listened and his expression changing as Deborah talked more. This kind of story was completely out of his expectations!!!

'Damn Mowmow!! You legend!! No a Mythic!! Goat Daum bruh!!! You rock!!'

Alex was feeling like it was him how was being praised! Every word was like a boost to his fragile ego! His friend was a mythical creature!! How cool was that!?

Deborah started eating more aggressively. Murmuring something under his breath. Alex ate in silence as well. But for a different reason.

Alex finished first and went to the sink, cleaned the dish and sat on the sofa in front of the TV. Although Alex hadn't had the chance to ask his question yet, he will do that but not before answering Deborah's first question. He was a fair man!!

When Deborah came back after cleaning the dishand sat on the single sofa on Alex's right, his expression was like someone just exposed his 'cultural magazine' collection.

"Ahem! Deborah! You asked how I meet Cowaresis right? Well listen then. I-"

Alex proceeded to tell Deborah about him 'waking up' in the middle of the desert, roaming around then meeting Mow-I mean Cowaresis two days ago and in that sort amount of time, they became friends.

Deborah listened with serious expression. Like he was trying to find some hidden meaning. Alex slouched back, tired after he finished his long story that took... no more then thirty seconds...

He then looked at Deborah and said,

"Yo, bro. Now it's my turn. Why is there no wall protecting the city bro?"

Deborah who was thinking hard frowned as he looked at Alex like he was looking at an idiot.

"What the fuck do we need a wall for?"

"Mm? For... protection? You guys live in a desert full of monster like fishs no?"

"No we don't."

"..."

Alex looked at Deborah, deadpan expression. His stress level rising again. Just like when he deals with those half dead geezers. But this is nothing compared to them. It was tolerable.

Alex took a deep breath.

"Can you... Fucking Explain!?"

Alex said with stern voice as he got closer to Deborah. He frowned but opened his mouth.

"We live in the shore so they can't come up. Simple."

Alex: '...'

"Do you think is this some kind of sea Deborah?"

Deborah leaned back frowning.

"I don't THINK... it is a sea."

He said plainly.

Alex pinched the bridge of his nose.

'I was known as a troll in the university but this bastard is even bigger troll then even ME! Is this how people feel when they are mugged?'

Alex was feeling it. His headache intensifying. Stress rising faster than a boner. He looked at Deborah, dead in the eye with a deadpan expression.

"So your saying the place I was in is a sea? And now we are on the shore?"

"Yes. That's exactly it."

Bam!

Alex slammed his palm in the table. Top of his head starting to hurt.

"Then why the fuCK I DIDN'T DROWN!?!?"

"WHY WOULD YOU DROWN!?"

"DIDN'T YOU FUCKING SAY THE DESERT WAS A SEA!?"

"I DID AND IT IS BUT WHY WOULD YOU DROWN IN A DESERT!?"

Both Alex and Deborah was now breathing heavy. Alex was at his wits end. His eyes wide and bloodshot, he was bitting his lips in frustration. Both hands involuntarily moving towards Deborah. Wanting to strangle this bastard to death!!

"Fuck bro!! Be more specific. SPECIFIC!! Is it a desert or a sea!?"

Deborah was also breathing heavy. He has never met such a stupid person in his entire fucking life!!

"Come with me!!"

"I'm not gay!!"

"To the roof you buttery smooth brain!!!"

"OK you Peanut head!!"

They cursed each other and slammed the door open and close as the went out. The poor door felt violated as it has nothing to do with those to idiots!! But alas, there was no one to know of its sufferings...

=====

On the rooftop. Deborah pointed at the distant.

"SEE THAT FUCKER!! THOSE MOUNTAIN!? LOOK CLOSE!!"

Alex looked at Deborah with murderous expression before he gazed at the mountains. Those things may look small from here but they were fucking massive up close. Even the one Alex accidentally destroyed was five hundred time bigger the Mt. Everest! And it was in the smaller case of the other ones he had seen...

Alex was about to turn and beat the day light out of Deborah when he noticed that the mountain seemed to... move?

"Wha the fuck...?"

"Yea. That's why it's a sea. It is called Sea Desert. Sea for the Sand creatures and desert for everyone else. But it behaves like a Sea as it has waves and shit but very slow... as you can see."

Deborah said calmly... or smugly?

Alex turned to him with an expression that said,

'Couldn't you have said it sooner bastard!?'

"Hmph!"

Deborah snorted and went down. Leaving behind Alex. The first thing Alex had thought when he noticed the mountain move was that he was hallucinating again.

But since there was another person to confirm what he saw, he was able accept it very fast. Alex took a deep breath and tilted his head up and noticed that the sun actually went from south to north. Not east to west.

"Damn... I really am in another world..."

Alex murmured. He stood there for a while. Feeling the heat and smelling the hot air. Grounding himself. He had noticed another thing is that he looked younger. Like a 17 year old boy when he used to look like he would die if someone even sneezed at him.

"Very mucho indeed ~~"

Alex went downstairs. He was thinking of asking for a phone and job. He was sure there were green place somewhere so he needed money to go there. He can't always rely on others now can he?
