Chapter 3 - Farewell

Alex right now was travelling via sitting on the sand Cows back. Two days have passed since Alex had encountered the Cow and they have been travelling in a... direction.

Alex was eating the cactus sap, scap, meat or whatever the insides were called as snack. Because why not.

"Mowmow! Look!! I think we found it!!"

Alex suddenly exclaimed to the Cow, now called Mowmow by Alex. In the distance, faint outline of houses can be seen.

Mowmow stopped.

"Mow~"

"You want me to get down?"

"Mow."

"Okay?"

Alex got down. Mowmow turned to him. And nodded. Alex tilted his head before understanding dawned to him.

"You will not accompanying me any further?"

Alex asked.

"Mow."

Mowmow nodded. Alex looked at the distance and then at Mowmow. He figured that if it went close the people might attack it. And that's why it was refusing to go. Most likely it has been chased by them before.

Alex sighed.

"Alright friend. If you say so. It was good knowing ya... Hope we meet again someday..."

Alex said he gently carcased the Cows head. Then it looked Alex in the eye before turning around and started walking again.

Alex was waving it good by with a hand covering his mouth. The Cow had its head down cast, casting a shadow over its face. Only a single droplet of tear shining under the sun.

Alex stood there until he couldn't see the Cow anymore before he turned around and started walking towards buildings as well. These two days, Alex and Mowmow had bonded and could understand each other very much.

Like brothers lost in some festival. But everything comes to an end. So did their sort journey. Alex won't ever forget it.

Alex walked and wind blew his makeshift pants he made with animal hide. It only covered his crotch area.

Alex walked and walked.

'How far is that shit?'

He frowned. It was taking too long. Alex disappeared and appeared at the edge of what appeared as a city. The outskirts of the city had small building with no walls or anything at all. And at the far distance, probably the center of the city, there were many sky scrapers.

Alex was astonished. But it didn't last long as he was surrounded by many people how came out of nowhere, wearing battle suits pointing plasma guns at him.

"GET DOWN OR WE'LL SHOOT!!!"

They said in foreign language Alex couldn't understand but figured that they were probably suspicious so he brought his hands up.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY!? I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!"

Alex also tried to communicate.

"VESSELS OF COWARESIS GET DOWN OR WE WILL SHOOT!!!"

They shouted even more desperate. Alex couldn't understand what they were saying at all! He tried some sign language but it looked like it scared them shitless as they were ready to shoot him. Alex felt a headache coming. He hates it when people don't understand him.

He didn't learn all the language on Earth for nothing! But it didn't work here, in another world as the language was totally different.

"Stop!"

Suddenly a dignified old voice pierced through the tension. The crowd parted and an old man calmly walked up to Alex. Some tried to warn him but he shut them down.

The old man came in front of Alex and handed him a tablet which had some app opened on it. Alex took it and realised that it was a language learing app. He shot the old man a appreciative look.

He sat down then and there and started to learn.

Time passed quickly and dusk settled in the horizon. By now, the tension has defused quite a bit as there were barely any people except the old man and another person in a different looking battle suit then others.

Huff~~

Alex stood up. He had learned everything the Duo-Ding-Dong app has to offer and he could now understand the Leerlo language BUTT, he still needs practice and... a bit of ego boost...?

"Thanks... old... man."

Alex said slowly. The old man's eyes widened before he took the tabe from Alex's hand and smiled slightly.

"So what are you young man? How come you were with Cowaresis?"

"What? Comb my ass?"

Alex said, confused.

"It's not comb my ass you idiot! Its Cow-A-Resis!!"

The man beside the old man said sharply. He took off his helmet and his long peanut colour hair flowed down. He had quite a handsome face with Amber eyes beautifying his looks even more.

"R-Right! Yeah! Cowaresis... but you can't blame me man! Those words sounded pretty similar!!"

Alex defended himself. The man frowned but nodded.

"Your right. Those words are similar. Even I mistook at when I first heard it."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

Alex's eyes widened and his wounded pride healed a bit knowing that it is a common mistake. Alex then looked at the old man and said,

"As for your question old man, I'm a human of course! And my name is Alexander Pluto by the way. Nice to metcha all!"

Alex addressed the old man and introduced himself. The old man gazed at Alex for a long while, weirding out Alex and just when he was about to say that he doesn't swing that way, the old man smiled.

"Right... my name is Preganos Am, the mayor of this city. Nice to meet you too Alexander."

Preganos extended his hand.

"Wow! That's a sick name!"

Alex shook his hand. Then he looked at the man and extended his hand as well. The man looked at Alex's hand before taking it for a handshake.

"My name Deckraim Deborah. And your name is sick too. This is the first time I'm hearing the word Pluto after all. Very unique."

"Really? There are people with the name of Alexander here?"

Alex completely ignored everything else and focused on something else. It shocked him because he thought since language is different, names would be too. But that wasn't the case it seems.

"Yea."

Alex was astonished. He didn't think there would be any. At the moment, the old man spoke again.

"Deborah. Take Alexander with you. You live alone don't you?"

Deborah looked at the old man with a frown. The old man just smiled in reassurance.

"Are you sure sir? That he isn't a threat?"

"Yes."

There was a silence between them as Alex looked back and forth. He couldn't understand what they just said.

'What the fuck? I just learned a new language and now they are ditching me, talking in another? Fuck! Looks like I need to learn all the language of the world again!'

Alex felt wronged but there was nothing he could do as it was his own inability to understand...

Deborah turned to look at Alex and then nodded at the old man. He gently slammed his hand on his chest, legs clasped close.

"I will follow your direction sir!"

"Mmm~~ make sure to treat him well. We shouldn't get on his bad side."

"Yes sir!"

With that, Preganos's armour brought out its helmet and he flew towards the sky scrapers.

'...Damn! I didn't notice before but all of these look like Iron man suit! Sick!'

Alex exclaimed internally before Deborah turned to him. Looked at him for few moments before sighed.

"Alright let's go to my house then."

=====

Alex right now was showering in Deborah's house. They had come via taxi. Alex was very uncomfortable when he realised that he would have to walk among people looking like a cave man wearing nitbung but animal hide.

But Deborah saved the day by calling in some taxi and saving Alex the embarrassment. He was very grateful.

Showering after a month felt awesome! Alex had been rubbing and scrubbing for half an hour now. The water was just enough cold to feel amazing in the heat outside.

After a while, Alex got out of the bathroom while drying his hair. He wore the clothes Deborah had given him. Deborah right now was cooking. He had put away his battle suit. Alex really wanted to try it but he didn't push his luck.

The apartment was pretty big. It was in the middle layer of city. Not too outside nor too close to the center. The building it self

was three-story. The interior was white. With a living room, bathroom, kitchen, master bedroom and a guestroom.

It wasn't much but still better then Alex's single room apartment back on Earth.

Alex sat at the table, waiting for the food. He was sitting facing the window and watched as hover cars and transports zoomed past. Deborah came to the table with the food. It smelled... Alright.

Alex has learned his lesson to not expect much even though it was an alien world.

Alex had been wondering why wasn't there any city gates and defence stuff even though there were big'ol monsters everywhere.

So he decided to ask Deborah...
