Chapter 23 Astral Battlefield
In the main battlefield, divine power surged. The primordial Titans and the nine-faced dragons joined forces to fight against the Lord of Terror; each collision tore through space and shattered stars.
The two ancient gods unleashed their full power, their mountain-like fists combined with their breath of rules, yet they still could not suppress the terrifying Lord wielding the Chaos Axe.
Meanwhile, the Lord of Terror's lieutenant, the Night Serpent Dender, roamed the battlefield like a dragon. Its enormous body was like a moving black hole, swallowing even light wherever it went.
The weaker gods retreated, but a few were unable to dodge in time and were swallowed whole by Dandel. Amidst screams, their divinity was completely digested.
Uta'o, meanwhile, calmly directed operations from the rear. Its crystalline body flickered continuously as it analyzed battlefield data and adjusted the deployment of the Aragami army.
As a special being among the Aragami, he almost escaped the chaotic nature of the Aragami by absorbing too many of their characteristics.
The goddess of magic, Mysriel, maintained the magic network's operation, scanning the entire battlefield.
She saw that the clash between light and darkness between Suren and Shar continued, and the confrontation between the two goddesses was diverting precious divine power.
Even the combined might of the primordial Titans and the Nine-Headed Dragon Gods couldn't defeat Lord of Terror, while Dendel continued to devour weaker gods.
"This can't go on," Misriel contacted Mother Earth, Chantia, through the magic network. "We must spare some of our strength to deal with the Lord of Terror's right and left hands."
Chantia responded, "I do my best to maintain the life of the earth, but I can create an avatar. Give it to me, Dendel; I have a way to control devouring creatures."
Misriel immediately made a decision: "I will create an avatar to deal with Utau. The command of the Aragami army must be cut off."
The two goddesses acted immediately. The avatar of Chantia rose from the earth, wielding the Scepter of Life, and charged straight at Dender. The scepter radiated vibrant life, fiercely clashing with Dender's devouring power.
Misriel's avatar appeared before Utau, its magical energy weaving into a cage to imprison the strategist of the Wild God. Utau calmly responded, his crystalline body refracting complex light, dismantling the magical energy's restraints.
At the same time, Misriel contacted the other gods: "Direct the battle to the astral plane! The clash of your powerful divine forces is destroying the structure of the material universe!"
The goddess of magic saw through the nature of the Aragami. Although the Aragami had become somewhat rational, she believed that her accomplices would definitely have a way to guide him to the Astral Plane.
The Primal Titan was the first to respond. He forced the Lord of Terror back with a single punch, then retreated towards the Astral Plane. The Nine-Headed Dragon God breathed dragon fire to cover him, and also retreated towards the Astral Plane.
Corellon immediately understood Misriel's intention. The elven divine bow fired a divine arrow that struck the Ara God, its immense power repelling the mighty Ara God to the edge of the universe. Moradin and Gruush also coordinated their actions, fighting and retreating.
The Lord of Terror laughed: "Want to change battlefields? Whatever, I can destroy you anywhere!" He brandished the Chaos Axe and chased after the Astral Plane.
Misriel activated the magic network with all her might, manipulating the protective array between the material universe and the astral plane, and guiding it to the astral battlefield.
The gods and the Wild Gods entered the Astral Plane one after another through the magic array. The space here was disordered and devoid of other life, capable of withstanding the collision of powerful divine forces.
The astral plane instantly transformed into the ultimate battlefield. The gods and the undead gods engaged in a full-scale battle, with divine power clashing fiercely with the power of chaos.
The Primal Titans and the Nine-Headed Dragon once again joined forces to fight against the Lord of Terror. The battle between these three supreme beings became the center of the battlefield, and all other battles revolved around them.
Just then, Utau seized the opportunity and suddenly distracted himself, summoning dozens of Aragami to attack the Primordial Titan. These Aragami disregarded their own safety and frantically attacked the Titan's legs, trying to hold the giant back.
The primordial Titan roared and shattered several Wild Gods, but more Wild Gods followed suit.
They attacked the primordial Titans with chaotic weapons, which, while not causing fatal damage, successfully stalled the Titans' movements.
"Nine-Faced Dragon God!" roared the Primal Titan. "Watch out!"
But the warning came too late. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the Lord of Terror launched a full-scale attack on the Nine-Faced Dragon God, the Chaos Axe slashing towards the Dragon God's wings.
The Nine-Faced Dragon God hurriedly dodged.
The Lord of Terror laughed loudly: "Now it's one-on-one, Nine-Faced Dragon God!"
The nine-faced dragon god retaliated in fury, unleashing its full power of the Breath of Rules. Having lost the support of the primordial titans, the dragon god faced the attack of the Axe of Chaos alone.
Seeing this, Misriel immediately adjusted her strategy. She contacted Corellon and Moradin through the magic network: "Support the Nine-Headed Dragon God! We can't let it fight the Lord of Terror alone!"
The Elven and Dwarven gods immediately unleashed their full power, temporarily breaking free from the Ara God's opponent. Corellon drew his divine bow and fired with all his might at the Lord of Terror's face, while Moradin's warhammer slammed into the Lord of Terror's arm.
After their attack, the two gods were stopped by their rival, the Aragami.
The Lord of Terror had to be distracted, which disrupted His offensive rhythm.
At the same time, the collision between the divine power of Mother Earth and the devouring power of the Shadow Serpent produced a strange effect: strange plants formed from divine life force grew where the scepter struck, and these plants were then being devoured by Dandel.
"Disgusting vitality!" Dendel roared, launching an even more frenzied attack.
The battle between Misriel's avatar and Utau was of a different style. Both were calculating and predicting each other's actions at high speed, their magical energy clashing fiercely with the most rational of the Aragami.
While attacking, Utau also tried to confuse the goddess of magic with words, saying, "Your attack pattern is flawed, goddess of magic."
Misriel was shocked to discover that this Aragami was analyzing the structure of the magic network. She immediately strengthened her defenses and changed her tactics.
In other parts of the battlefield, the gods and the Aragami were locked in a fierce battle. The Titans swung their mountain-like fists, each strike capable of shattering several Aragami. The dragons spewed dragon breaths of various elements, forming a powerful aerial barrage.
However, the Aragami were numerous and possessed chaotic weapons and armor, making them far more powerful than ever before. The army of the gods began to suffer casualties.
Gruush fought five Ara Gods simultaneously, wielding his battle axe like the wind, laughing wildly as he cleaved through one enemy after another.
"That's more like it!" Gewush roared. "Come on, the more the better!"
Just as the battle was at its most intense, Misriel suddenly discovered a terrifying phenomenon: the Chaos Axe of the Lord of Terror was quietly absorbing the divine power and chaotic energy dissipating from the battlefield, growing stronger and stronger.
"It must be stopped!" Mysriel warned the gods, "That axe is absorbing energy to grow!"
The gods attempted to concentrate their attacks on the Chaos Axe, but the Lord of Terror's defenses were impenetrable, making it difficult to hit the axe directly.
