Chapter 13 - Are You Sure You Don’t Like Sweet Melons?

This was the first time Ye Wanwan had ever stepped into Si Yehan's room.

The moment she walked in, a strong sense of oppression washed over her.

The entire room was unusually dull in tone. A set of high-end audio equipment stood prominently in one corner, playing soothing, sleep-inducing music. The curtains were drawn tightly shut, leaving not a single crack, making the space completely sealed off from the outside world.

The room was filled with alcohol—rows upon rows of various foreign liquors lined the huge wine cabinet across from her.

Besides Si Yehan, there was another person in the room: Mo Xuan, his hypnotherapist.

It seemed Si Yehan had been getting ready to sleep just now.

Ugh, even sleeping was such a hassle for him...

He'd slept pretty soundly last night, though—probably because he hadn't gotten any rest for three whole days.

When Mo Xuan saw Ye Wanwan without her heavy makeup, a flicker of surprise clearly appeared in his eyes, but he quickly regained his composure.

Seeing her arrive, he excused himself and quietly left the room.

Under the dim, ambiguous yellow overhead light, Si Yehan walked over to the bar and sat down. He poured himself a glass of wine and said, "Speak."

Ye Wanwan had already carefully rehearsed what she wanted to say. She didn't hesitate any longer and blurted out, "I want to talk about our relationship!"

"Our relationship?" The man's eyes narrowed slightly.

Ye Wanwan nodded, her tone earnest as she asked, "Yes... Si Yehan, what do you think our relationship is right now?"

Si Yehan answered without the slightest hesitation: "You are mine."

Ye Wanwan: "..."

She was all too familiar with this kind of answer.

It was just like the time she'd asked him why it had to be her, and he'd replied, "Because it's only you."

Answers that left her completely at a loss.

Ye Wanwan forced herself to ignore his response and pressed on, "Si Yehan, I've never understood why you chose me. With your status and position, you could have any woman you wanted. Even if you prefer someone plump, someone with a... unique sense of style, there are countless people who would be willing to cater to your tastes. Whatever the reason, since this fact can't be changed, can we at least try to change the way we interact? You've always been angry that I keep rebelling against you, but no one can stand having their life controlled. The more you try to cage me, the more I'll want to run away. As the saying goes, a melon twisted off the vine is never sweet. I'm sure you understand that!"

The man listened silently to her entire speech. Then, his expression unchanged, he said, "Who said I like sweet melons?"

Ye Wanwan: "..."

This conversation was impossible!

She finally got it. Si Yehan didn't care about anything else—all that mattered was that she was his possession. Her wishes meant absolutely nothing to him.

At this point, the conversation was completely dead in the water.

This guy had managed to kill the mood in one sentence!

Time dragged by slowly...

After an endless silence, Ye Wanwan suddenly stood up and walked step by step toward the man.

Si Yehan didn't say a word, his gaze cool and impassive as he watched her approach.

Finally, Ye Wanwan stopped right in front of him. In the next second, she leaned forward abruptly, and her soft lips landed on the man's cool ones—

"You... sure?"

Her soft, sweet voice brushed against his lips, laced with innocent charm. "Are you sure... you don't like sweet melons?"
