Chapter 2 - Episode 2 - The Quest Begins

(The scene then cuts to Ra'ell flying through the clouds and seeing a giant castle in the distance, with its wonderful and brilliant colors shining in the light of the sun.)

As they land he sees that the Roc he just rode on was actually a person as he returns to original state 'a pig Wylder', Ra'ell looks around to see that the whole area has been decorated and set for the Festival of Peace.

When he is told by the 'Wylder' that dropped him off, "Hi my name is Nnann, welcome to the capital of 'The Everrealm of Veylora, Elandros, you have a day till the quest begins relax and enjoy the festival in the meantime you will need it, the Torihiki hotel has been reserved for contestants, you can rest there whenever you like."

As he walks away, Ra'ell can't help but wonder how many strong people are going to be participating, before he decides to go play some carnival games and explore the capital, as he has never been here.

 A few hours later

(Ra'ell, having had his fun, lodged into his hotel room only to have the ceiling above him collapse and him to get drenched by water, as he looks up he sees, a young 'Elfae' holding a wand apologizing for the situation as she was just practicing her spells, but Ra'ell embarrassed, jumped through the hole from his room to hers and starts to pick a fight.)

"What do the heck? How can a contestant no know how to control their magic? That's the thing with all you 'Arcanists', you get wacky little powers and just go bullshiting around, you should really do better than this for fuck sake." Ra'ell yelled.

Suddenly a knock from her door is heard, on the other side was a light skinned, black haired man around his age, dressed in a traveler's attire adorned with a silver necklace and scarf, with abnormally long ears like that of an Elfae, if not for the absence of wings one could say he was one.

Ra'ell spoke with an angered voice, "What do you want, huh? This is none of your business, so why don't you just go away before you get hurt."

The man responded, saying,"It may not be any of my business, but I can't let you keep raising your voice to a lady and disturbing the peace of this establishment, I mean we are all contestants so why don't we try to get along instead of making enemies before the quest even begins."

Ra'ell rose his voice even higher as he responded, "Huh, who do you think you are to talk to me like that, I can beat both of you together right now, freaky elflies!"

[N.B: 'Elflies' is basically a racial slur.]

Upon hearing those words, the man black haired man burst into rage, and a heated argument ensued. By this time, a staff member had already arrived but was unable to mediate the conflict when out of the blue, a tall, slender man with very alluring features arrived, and with a silent but beautiful whistle sounded from his lips everyone had been put into a state of calm, before the staff member could thank him, he was gone just as he had appeared, suddenly though, Ra'ell collapsed.

Next thing he knew, he was in a new room and was almost late for the ceremony to kick off the quest, he rushed himself into preparation and ran as fast as he could to the assembly ground for contestants, but luckily for him he made it in just time for the opening speech from the King.

 As the time for the opening ceremony arrived, 4 people appeared out of nowhere and landed on the podium high above the ground. "They are the High Guard;

*The Forge Sentinel, Thrain Stonebreaker, a huge towering Dwarc clad in a lustrous sturdy armor, with control over a giant hammer construct that orbits around him like a moon,

*The Ultimate Automaton, Aegis, a machine with runes etched onto every piece of it, rumored to be the reason behind its complete autonomy, little is known about him,

*The Jester, Alastor, a human who had won the last quest and bears a mask as his prize permanently fused to his face, it is unclear whether he regrets it or not, but he is always seen smiling and laughing,

*The Time Weaver, Edalyn Lilith, an Elfae with mastery over the very concept of time itself, the most powerful and loved of the four, even though she has around just as long as the king, she is the most enigmatic of all." Ra'ell thought to himself.

As they arrive, so does the King, King Altharos Veylen, the one who ended the warring realms era. They are welcomed with cheers from the people, as the cheers come to an end, the king greets his subjects, saying as he waves.

"Greetings to you all, and welcome to the Festival of Peace!". Roars of cheers erupt from the crowd in response, He continues by saying, "This festival marks the 70th year of my rule, and the end of the centuries long wars we all waged against each other, I hope by now there is no more bad blood between you all, but I know that we're all here for the is start of 'The Quest of Deeds', so I pass the spotlight over to High Guard Aegis, he'll state the rules."

(The scene then shifts to Aegis, the Automaton, as he sprouts out two more arms, with 2 holding a scroll, 1 becoming a microphone, and the last turning into a pedestal, he then begins by saying in a very robotic yet human-like voice.)

"Good morning, my fellow Everites, I, Aegis, welcomes you to the 7th 'Quest of Deeds', as you can see all 64 of our contestants are present." He says as he points over to the contestants. The scene then changes to show the faces of Ra'ell with an excited expression, the Elfae conjurer who is overly nervous, the Elfae looking man who is waving at everyone, the Alluring whistler is looking at the other contestants very intently, a man in a hood is also shown before the scene focuses back on Aegis as he continues.

"All you contestants will have to travel all over the continent doing good deeds in every realm, by claiming votes of thanks from the mayors of 5 cities per realm, and providing it to the reagents for the 'Emblems of the Realms', once a team has claimed all 8 Emblems they must return here to the capital, a neutral ground and present it to your majesty to claim your prize, I implore you to take your time, you have two years to complete it so no need to rush, but if you do run out of time the teams closest to completion will be brought to the Royal Court to decide the winners, as you may already know one of us High Guards will be participating as a contestant to provide on site surveillance and to curb any unwanted activities, you will be randomly grouped up in teams of two in a few minutes, in the meantime I pass the spotlight to my fellow High Guard, Alastor."

He finishes his speech while the crowd cheers, and he retracts his arms restoring his humanoid appearance, as Alastor begins to speak in a muffled but yet clear voice through his mask, "Hahaha, hey there folks, so like you all heard am gonna be the head on site proctor for the event, if you have any questions you can ask me, but let's try to have some fun okay, hahaha" He says as he fires out sparklers and confetti from his fingertips, the crowd cheers and the festival begins.

The entire area is filled with joy and merriment as people of all races; Humans, Dwarcs, Elfaes and Wylders of all kinds are seen eating, drinking and having fun together, it was a true vision of peace.

 A few minutes later.

The contestants are called to a separate section of the festival and are given their team numbers, and are instructed to move towards individuals with placards showing the team numbers. Ra'ell, whose team number was 18, moved to the appropriate location and spoke to the individual in front of him, "Hey, so where's my teammate?, he better not be late."

"He should be here soon. Here's your team certificate and info scroll." He says while handing over a sheet of paper and a scroll.

But before he could receive it, a hand appears out of nowhere and says, "I seriously can't believe I got teamed with you of all people." As Ra'ell looks down to see the long eared man from yesterday by his side.
