Chapter 80 - The Secret Past of the Heian Era

A few minutes later, Hanazono Yurine suddenly spoke up. "I remember now."

"There used to be a book in the shrine that recorded things about the Evil God's Banquet."

Yurine's beautiful face was full of solemnity. "Kawashima, are you sure you want to attend the Evil God's Banquet?"

"Can I not go?" Kawashima Toya laughed helplessly. "The invitation and the gifts have been delivered; I have to go even if I don't want to."

On the second floor of the Trash Fox Detective Agency, there were two gifts from the Evil God stored away.

Each one was formed from the skin of an Evil God, containing madness, evil, and mystical power.

He was certain that if he didn't go, the gifts on the second floor would immediately revert to their true forms.

Although they could be suppressed by the Box of Sealing, anyone could open that box.

Once the Box of Sealing was opened, the consequences would be unimaginable.

The power of anomalies and madness would spread immediately.

As for how far it would spread, he had no answer.

Yurine said seriously, "Let me tell you about what I remember from the shrine book."

"It's a record about Abe no Seimei, the protagonist of the Heian era."

Toya frowned. "Abe no Seimei used the power of the entire Heian era to steal the power of Lord Taizan?"

"Almost all mystical powers were stripped away, barely snatching a sliver of divine power."

"Is such a method possible?"

Yurine shook her head. "I don't know."

"But one thing is certain: the Evil God's Banquet is a banquet to select a favored person."

"Abe no Seimei didn't attend, or rather, didn't dare to attend, which incurred the wrath of the Evil God."

"When the world was about to sink into depravity, Abe no Seimei came up with a way to solve this disaster."

"The price was that almost all mystical inheritances were severed, including those who were alive."

"So far, there are only a few people in the world who might possess mystical powers."

Yurine paused slightly, her expression heavy. "The Heian era had the foundation of the Heian era; our era has nothing."

"Trying to imitate Abe no Seimei's actions is impossible."

"Because he completely exhausted the accumulation of the era, severing everything utterly."

Beside them, Kasumigaoka Utaha and Kasugano Sora were stunned, unable to believe they had learned such an important secret.

Even Abe no Seimei from a thousand years ago couldn't solve this banquet; could Toya do it?

"Don't make it sound so heavy, like the world is about to end!" A bright smile appeared on Toya's handsome face. "I'll attend that banquet!"

"I just hope you can help me restrict Jashin-chan for a day!"

The Evil God's Banquet was dangerous, but not to that extent.

As long as the Evil God's true body didn't descend personally, it could be handled.

"I promise you." Yurine nodded gently. "I won't let her disturb you."

The trip to the maid cafe ended quickly.

Just as Toya was about to take Sora and Utaha back to the Trash Fox Agency, he found that Yurine had changed back into her dark Lolita outfit and chased after them.

Wearing an eyepatch and radiating chunibyo energy, Yurine stared straight at Toya. "I asked the manager for a day off to follow you home and solve the Jashin-chan problem."

"I will watch Jashin-chan personally!"

"Thanks!" The corners of Toya's mouth turned up slightly. "Now I can rest assured."

Soon, Toya returned to the Trash Fox Agency with Yurine, Sora, and Utaha.

The agency looked exactly the same as before they left, with no changes.

"Come out, Jashin-chan!" Suddenly, Yurine stood at the entrance of the agency and spoke calmly.

"Jashin-chan?" Toya looked at Yurine in surprise. "Is she actually here?"

"Devils really hold grudges."

When he came back just now, he had also sensed Jashin-chan's aura.

But he thought it was just residual traces from when he cleaned up Jashin-chan earlier.

Yurine nodded gently. "Jashin-chan hides well. If not for the connection of the contract, I wouldn't have discovered her."

The surroundings were silent, except for the occasional passerby; there was absolutely no sign of Jashin-chan.

Utaha and Sora wondered if Yurine had sensed wrong.

Toya waited with interest for Yurine's next move.

He trusted Yurine very much.

No one understood Jashin-chan better than Yurine.

If she said Jashin-chan was here, she was definitely here.

"She holds a grudge too deeply. It's a good thing Yurine came along."

Although he didn't fear Jashin-chan and could easily kill her...

Her perseverance moved him.

Including this time, Jashin-chan had come twice in total.

She probably rushed over immediately, driven by the desire for revenge, right after reviving.

Yurine suddenly moved, walking towards the trash can where the Trash Fox Agency's daily garbage was piled.

"Won't come out?" Yurine stared gloomily at the trash can, a cold and chilling aura slowly spreading.

The contract connection told her that Jashin-chan was hiding inside the trash can.

Inside the trash can, the filthy and smelly Jashin-chan felt the cold aura outside and shivered.

"Is this Yurine's voice?"

"Why would she be here?"

Jashin-chan shook her head frantically. "It must be that person's trick. I can't be fooled!"

"Yurine was very angry about his intrusion; how could she help him?"

"Continue waiting. Wait until that hateful guy takes out the trash!"

"Then I'll jump out and kill him in one hit!"

Seemingly imagining the scene of Toya being killed by her in one hit, a brilliant smile appeared on Jashin-chan's exquisite lips.

"Hiding in the trash can?"

A look of realization flashed in Toya's eyes. No wonder he only sensed Jashin-chan's aura and mistook it for the residue from cleaning up at noon.

It turned out Jashin-chan was hiding in the trash can, using its stench to mask her presence.

In that case, his misunderstanding was normal.

Toya crossed his arms, waiting for the show to start with eyes full of amusement.

Seeing Toya's behavior, Utaha and Sora watched curiously as well.

A scene that even Toya wouldn't miss must be very interesting.

Expressionless, Yurine reached out and yanked the lid off the trash can.

She was ready to teach Jashin-chan a lesson.

To dare ignore her voice—she needed a memorable lesson.

"Hahaha, you fell for it!" Feeling light shine into the trash can, Jashin-chan immediately realized 'Toya' had opened it.

The best opportunity had arrived; not a moment could be wasted.

Gathering all her strength, she leaped out of the trash can, flying into mid-air.
