Chapter 4 - First Sighting

Through the bustling city of Tokyo, through the bright lights and beautiful architecture, a black car drives through the streets. Akari and Yami are in the backseats being driven to their mission by Hiraku, an assistant manager at Tokyo Jujutsu High.

The car stops at a closed-down factory. "The factory manager was reported missing a week ago, after staying late at work one night. You two have been sent to investigate his disappearance and have been requested by the higher-ups to collect any findings." Hiraku looks back at Yami and Akari, who are ready for this mission.

The three of them exit the black Honda. "Remember: collect anything of importance you find, if any at all." Hiraku hands Yami a picture of the factory manager who went missing.

Hiraku raises his right hand, pointer and middle finger pointing outward.

"Emerge from the darkness, blacker than darkness. Purify that which is impure."

A curtain wraps around the factory, blocking non-sorcerers from entering and seeing anything they shouldn't.

Both the students are surprised at seeing the curtain, having never seen one before. "Mr. Hiraku, what did you just do?" Asked Yami, politely.

"This is what you call a curtain or veil; it can do a variety of set things, but the one I casted will block non-sorcerers from seeing anything they shouldn't." Hiraku opens the car's door and gets in. "I'll be waiting out here; come back to me when the mission is finished."

Akari laughs and slaps Yami on the back gently. "Our first real mission… Are you ready, pipsqueak?" He grins wildly, clearly excited for his first mission.

"Yeah, I think we're ready for this mission. It seems easy enough." Yami continues. "Besides, the curse isn't believed to be anything above grade 3."

The pair walk around the factory to the front entrance; Akari punches through the locked factory door, and the two of them enter the factory.

The pair search through the factory with a diligent pace, well, Yami did. Akari quickly grew impatient and bored from the search.

Akari paced the factory floor having not found anything yet, clicking his tongue. "Goddamn… Stupid waste of time."

"Calm down, juice monkey; I'm sure we'll find the curse soon." Said Yami as he found a tie on the ground, which was covered in dried-up blood. "Uh- Akari! I found something!"

Akari perked up as soon as he heard Yami's words; he walked towards him with hope that he'll be able to fight soon. "Oh! I never doubted you or any part of this for a second!" Taking a brief second to look at the tie before continuing. "There is no way in hell he is still alive."

As Yami put the tie in a plastic bag, an icy-cold cursed energy washed over the pair. This cursed energy was incredibly dense, causing a deep sensation of pressure all over their bodies.

Teeth chattering, Akari was the first to muster up words. "I-I've never felt anything like t-that... It's coming from up there!" Both of their eyes look upward to see a humanoid curse with two eyes, silky long white hair, bright blue eyes, and snow-white skin.

"Oh, these humans are different than the other ones I have seen. What kind of humans are they?" The humanoid said, speaking to itself out loud.

Akari and Yami immediately exchange glances, both frozen in fear from this curse. Yami realized it before Akari did: 'This is an unregistered special grade curse!'
