Chapter 31: An Accident Inside the Strange Rift
Emergency alarms rarely sounded at the District D management headquarters, because we seldom faced major incidents that posed high level danger, and the intensity of the rifts that appeared here was generally low.
That was why I was utterly shaken when I received the emergency assembly notice from Jena.
Zero's disappearance could be described as a devastating blow to Team 7 as well as to every member of District D headquarters. If not for the life monitoring device still transmitting a faint signal indicating that Zero was alive, we might have already concluded that rescuing him was impossible.
"So… what exactly happened!?"
Lee Cha Cha was the first to jump up, her voice filled with panic.
I walked over and patted her head, trying to calm her down. As everyone knew, Cha Cha adored Zero. She often trailed after him like a little tail. His disappearance nearly drove her to tears.
