Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Familiar voice

Meanwhile, Cyra paced around her room, gripping a transparent. She was dialing continuously, but no one picked up. Her body was shaking all over, as if she had seen something scary.

Ring, ring!

"Why is my brother not picking up?" Cyra said as her heart was beating faster and louder. She continued to dial again.

Suddenly, the smartphone rang off, and a man's voice was on the other end.

"Sister, why do you keep calling me? I was really busy. I just finished a meeting with higher-ups."

The middle-aged man wants to continue talking, but his word was cut off in the middle.

"Brother, Kaizer is alive," Cyra said while clenching the smartphone hard.

"Who are you talking about?"

"Lucian, son, Kaizer," Cyra said loudly. There was a little silence for a moment.

"It is not possible. I have seen Kaizer die with my own eyes." The middle-aged man said, tapping his finger on the chair handle.

"Brother, I've just sent you a video clip of Kaizer."

There was a brief silence; only the creek sound was heard by Cyra.

"How is this possible?" The middle-aged man stood up from his chair.

"Sister, does Lucian also know about this?"

"Yes, not only that, he is currently madly searching for him. If Lucian finds out what happened at that time, he will definitely leave me." Cyra said in a low voice, holding back her tears.

"Let me confirm if he is really Kaiser and update any information you got about him immediately." The middle-aged man cut off the phone line.

Right now, Kaizer was walking around the center of Omnis. There were a lot of individuals buying and selling stuff here. He surveyed his surroundings. The Sterling Exchange Trading Company was next to him. This well-known company purchases and sells all kinds of items. This company structure was enormous, with fifty stories and beautiful, sparkling windows, and it was only a branch amongst the many, belonging to one of the legacy families, Ashor.

There were two types of families: Legacy and Common.

Legacy families were top-tier. Only five existed—Skar, Helix, Ren, Ashor, and Drayton. Each had over a thousand years of history, produced exceptional individuals, and even owned land on other planets. They also dominated high-ranking positions in the Earth Federation's military, politics, and scientific institutions.

Common families lived ordinary lives, but there were always rare individuals who rose in both status and wealth, even surpassing the legacy families.

At the entrance, a flying circle drone with two small wings was suspended in the air; these small drones were scanning each person entering and exiting the main entrance.

A robotic voice came from a drone: "All checked, no armed weapons."

With this, Kaizer stepped inside and looked around. It was like a big supermarket. The place was really busy with merchants, customers, and traders. Merchants were haggling over prices. Customers were inspecting goods. Traders were finalizing deals. Kaizer thought the supermarket was really too busy.

There were also some large virtual idol advertisements and schemes like discounts, installment payments, and giving other information related to the trade in this company.

There were fifty floors, where each higher floor represents a higher level of material and items. Kaizer only had mediocre raw materials, so he went to one of the first-floor employees.

A middle-aged woman was behind the counter, and her sharp eyes swiftly evaluated him.

"Sir, are you buying or selling?" Glancing at the backpack, she asked nicely.

"Selling," Kaizer said, putting the backpack down on the counter, and took out the raw mineral. The woman's hands moved quickly over a calculator as she studied the mineral; her eyes lit up.

"I can only offer you two thousand star credits for these items," she grinned.

Kaizer shook his head and began to repack.

"Wait!" She hurried to hold the Kaizer hand, which was at the end of the bag's mouth.

"How much are you looking for?"

"Three thousand," Kaizer said without blinking. He knew these materials were valuable for crafting weapons.

The woman hesitated before sighing. "Alright, I'll give you two thousand five hundred star credits, but I can't go higher."

"There you are."

Kaizer heard a sharp voice, his eyes narrowing as he looked at the approaching group, who were dressed in complete red uniforms. They looked like students with both privilege and impatience. The surrounding people were taking a glance and admiring them. Some people even clicked a photo, as if they were a celebrity.

Many youths had a dream for this uniform, which belongs to the Astra Federation Academy. It was the quickest path to rise in status and earn wealth.

However, entering this academy was no joke. The applicant must have good academic performance in high school, with at least ninety points in each subject, and no criminal record. Not only that, but they must also awaken the genome parent before the age of eighteen. It was the hardest one.

The group of five passed through without anyone blocking the way—those around them shifted back, watching the silver badges pinned to their chests. That little metal piece clearly carried weight. Among them, just two girls dressed alike: red blazers, clean white shirts, and skirts swaying slightly with motion. Their narrow ties hung straight down. Behind, the boys matched the look but wore red pants instead.

Ahead of all, Isla moved first; her sharp features stood out, especially those dark eyes that held sparks, tucked under lashes too perfect to be natural. Her hair, thick and glossy, swayed each time she shifted weight.

She reached Kaizer and immediately gripped his forearm.

"You're coming with me," she declared, with a tone that brooked no argument.

"Who… are you?" Kaizer asked, his voice laced with feigned innocence. "You might have mistaken me for someone else."

Isla released the arm with embarrassment. Her friends exchanged glances, and one girl, Lara, looked both curious and amused.

Isla cleared her throat, her voice dropping. She replied, "I'm… your cousin."

"Your father is looking for you everywhere."
