Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: Explaining Investments

[3rd POV]

The rest of the day had been spent helping the Dunphys with the donations. Which was mostly just wrapping glass and other fragile objects in bubble wrap, and then putting them into even more boxes. She wasn't sure how many boxes had been made by the end of the day, but she was pretty sure it was easily more than 25.

It was a lot of donations, way more than she had been expecting.

The show didn't really cover stuff like that, and had only shown the bare minimum with things like the Dunphy's families wealth, donations, and other events that involved money. Probably because they didn't want to go too into details.

Or more like they didn't want to cover the fact that the Dunphy's were filthy rich.

Don't let Phil and Claire's home, or Cam and Mitchell's home fool you. They were wealthy. With Phil having a job as a realtor, he made well over the normal amount, and had a lot saved up, tens of thousands if Billie's guess was right.

While Mitchell was a lawyer, and was making just as much money as Phil, if not even more.

And of course there was Jay, who owned a multi million dollar business, and he himself was worth millions. And both Claire and her part of the family, and Mitchell and his, would be getting even wealthier in the future.

As she knew that Cam and Claire would eventually get their own jobs, bringing in more and more money.

Which is why she had decided to help them out a bit. Mostly because it had been brought up in conversation when she was helping out with boxes in the front, Jay, Phil and Mitchell being there with her as they loaded up boxes and put them away as Claire directed.

[Flashback]

"You know, kid, I'm curious about something" Jay spoke up after they had been silently packing boxes for a few minutes now. Billie glancing at him out of the corner of her eye, a curious expression on her face.

"Yeah? What about?"

"Ah well...actually, forget it. It's a personal question...I think at least" Jay said, waving it off. As Billie looked back at him, facing towards him instead of just glancing.

"No no, don't do that. Now you've got me interested. What was it you wanted to ask?" Billie said again, not liking that the man was trying to move on from that conversation.

It couldn't be that bad. It would take a VERY personal question to make her annoyed or uncomfortable.

Hearing her words, Jay sighed "Alright, I'll ask. What exactly did you invest in to make all that money you've got? I've been trying to figure it out ever since you brought up the fact that you're worth hundreds of millions, and I can't put it together" Jay said, as Billie blinked.

"Wait...that was your question? I can totally answer that, Jay" Billie responded with a snort, as it wasn't a big problem.

"Basically I just invested in a few companies that I thought - and think - have a lot of potential for upwards growth. The biggest one that I actually invested in pretty recently, is Netflix. It crashed a ton, but I think it has a ton of potential, so I've bought enough stock to own around 10% of it, and I plan on buying more in the next year" Billie said, knowing that right now Netflix was worth around 3 billion.

It'd be worth nearly 400 billion by 2025.

She had enough money to buy 10% of the stock, but couldn't afford 20% sadly. That was around 800 million, and she just couldn't do that yet.

Yet.

"But as for your question, I invested in a new startup company called "Uber" which I own around 40% of. It - in simplest terms - is sort of like a taxi service, but normal people can drive you around. It's actually works pretty good, and I'm confident that it will be worth a heck of a lot more in the next few years" Billie said, as the man raised an eyebrow.

"40% of a company? I hope you realize how insane that sounds" Jay said with a shake of his head.

"It's worth around 60 million right now, so I only invested like 24 million. Not really the biggest deal. I also invested in another company called "AirBnB" which is sort of like a rental service for your home, allowing others to stay in it for a short period for like vacations and stuff. Then there was my investments in Amazon, Apple, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, as well as some other companies I doubt you've heard of" Billie explained.

She had put aside quite a lot of her yearly income in order to invest into the future, so money would never ever be an issue. Had she not done all of this investing, she likely would be worth even more if she used it for momentary income. Plus once she was old enough, she could easily just make it back by doing sports betting.

She did know the winners of the World Cup, Super Bowl, World Series, and other major sporting events for the next 14 years up until late 2025. So she could easily make tens of millions if not hundreds from that alone.

"You invested in some of the biggest companies in the world? You sure that's smart with how expensive it is to get shares?" Jay asked with furrowed eyebrows.

"Oh it is, but its a good investment. But I also have been investing in smaller companies - or ones that are growing - , which are the ones that I'd suggest you think about to. Mainly NVIDIA, Broadcom, TSMC, AMD, and Tesla. But there is one thing more than any other that I've been investing in" Billie trailed off, as the man looked more and more interested.

She sounded like she knew what she was talking about. He wasn't entirely sure if she did, but he was beginning to think so. And he had a feeling falling her advice might just be a good idea.

"And what is that?" Phil asked, also getting the same feeling. He had been investing and saving money, but he wasn't worth hundreds of millions like Billie. So maybe it'd be a good idea to listen to her.

"Bitcoin. It's a crypto currency. A small one, but I've been slowly but surely accruing more and more of it. And if I am right, it'll be worth a hell of a lot in the future. But, thanks to how little it's worth right now, you have to be very very careful how much you actually buy. Too much and it'll be worth even less. Just buy like 50 or so a year and you'll be fine" Billie explained, as the two looked at one another confused.

"Just trust me, it'll be worth it in like a decade or so" Billie said mysteriously, as the two men looked even more curious about what this "Bitcoin" was.

Oh, they had no idea.

[Flashback End]

Billie herself had been silently investing in Bitcoin, just enough that it wouldn't crash the market and cause huge problems. She estimated that she'd have the largest Bitcoin wallet in the world by the time it hits it's peak, with only the creator of Bitcoin himself surpassing her.

That wallet would be worth like 30 billion dollars by that time.

A good investment, safe to say.

Most of her investments were for the long haul, and would make her a lot of money in the next decade.

She would have done more lottery stuff, like the mega millions and all that, but she did not know the numbers, well, most of them.

She only knew the numbers for a few future years, mostly because of the nurses she had for most of her life when she was in the hospital on and off.

Meaning she'd have a ticket to hundreds of millions in the years of: 2012, 2014, and 2017.

While for Powerball, she knew the numbers for: 2013, 2016, 2019, and 2022.

Those all combined would be worth billions, even after taxes. But she couldn't win them all, as that would very clearly look suspicious.

So she'd be finding a work around eventually.

At the moment Billie was once again on her way to the Dunphy household, this time, it was actually to help Haley watch her little siblings, as Phil and Claire wanted a night out. And Haley had done her whiney voice to her over the phone.

Basically she begged her to come over.

So she was, like the loving, kind, amazing, awesome girlfriend she was (her words).

And as she drove towards the Dunphy household, Billie had one thought on her mind.

'This'll be an...interesting day'

That's the end of the chapter!

Basically just a chapter talking about her investments, and why she will be VERY VERY rich in future chapters. Especially in future arcs when she visits New York and interacts with the How I Met Your Mother cast, or when she goes to Seattle and meets...another cast. Or Chicago and Shameless.

This was just so there won't be any plot holes or anything in the future. So it won't cause a problem.

Anyways, have a good day!
