Chapter 18 - The True Power Of The System (2)

After he posed this question, the item shop in front of him suddenly glowed with a sharp light, highlighting a specific section displaying numerical values:

[Scum Points: 12500]

"Oh? Around 12,500... I wonder if that's a lot?"

Huang Shi pondered the amount for a couple of moments before suddenly posing another question to the system:

"Hey system, how did I get these scum points in the first place?"

The system, as if already expecting this inquiry, suddenly glowed once more as a [Notifications] tab was highlighted.

He quickly skimmed through the information and was once again overcome with shock—this time, not because of excitement, but because of how truly "scummy" his system actually was.

Seriously? Is this how I get scum points? I mean, I sort of expected it from the name, but damn…

[Holding Your Stepmother For The First Time – 1000 Scum Points]

[Groping Your Stepmother For The First Time – 1500 Scum Points]

[Kissing Your Stepmother For The First Time – 2000 Scum Points]

[Angering Your Older Brother – 200 Scum Points]

[Angering Your Father – 500 Scum Points]

....

[Taking Your Stepmother's Virginity – 5000 Scum Points]

After getting over his initial shock, he suddenly smiled wryly as he quickly realized that his so-called "Scum System" encouraged him to commit bad behaviors for points.

Does this thing want me to become a villain?!

Once his emotions had sufficiently calmed down, he quickly looked through the shop to check the prices of the items, and he soon realized something:

"Hmm? I can only access the shop one level ahead of a major cultivation realm. I guess that's a good way to balance it, although I doubt I could even afford the higher-tiered items anyway."

After fiddling with the item shop for a couple of minutes, he quickly figured out how it works for the most part.

First, the shop is divided into seven tiers, ranging from the Elementary Profound Realm all the way to the Sky Profound Realm, which is also the highest cultivation level he knows so far.

However, from the shop and the information the system provided him, there are definitely higher cultivation levels than that.

There are three more cultivation levels above the Sky Profound Realm... I wonder what they're called?

Not bothering with information that would be useless for a cultivator of his current level, he quickly shifted his attention to the second thing he had learned about the shop.

Second, I can only access shops one major cultivation level above my own.

This means that since I'm still at the Elementary Profound Realm, I can only buy from the Tier 1 and Tier 2 shops, which correspond to the Elementary Profound Realm and the Nascent Profound Realm.

Third, from what I can see, there is a limit to the amount of stuff that you can buy from the shop.

For example, in the Elementary Profound Realm shop (the Tier 1 shop), I can see pills that can help me quickly breakthrough and rise to higher cultivation levels, but...

[Qi Nurturing Pill – 200 Scum Points (15x)]

[Body Tempering Pill – 500 Scum Points (15x)]

[Spirit Cleansing Pill – 500 Scum Points (15x)]

[Minor Healing Pill – 500 Scum Points (10x)]

[Hunger Suppression Pill – 500 Scum Points (20x)]

...

There was a long list of Tier 1 pills, but there was a limit to how many he could buy; most of them were between 10 and 20 pills, but there were some unique pills that only had very few available, for example:

[Foundation Opening Pill – 1000 Scum Points (3x)]

Foundation Opening Pill? I'm guessing this is a pill that is used to breakthrough from the Elementary Profound Realm to the Nascent Profound Realm safely…

Feeling slightly interested, he quickly looked through the other items he could buy from the shop.

"Let's see the external objects section next."

[Tier 1: Spirit Tempered Iron Sword – 1000 Scum Points]

[Tier 1: Qi Grooved Spear – 1200 Scum Points]

[Tier 1: Cloudwood Staff – 800 Scum Points]

[Tier 2: Spirit Thread Vest – 2500 Scum Points]

After spending his time going through the external objects section in both Tier 1 and Tier 2, he quickly moved past the [Cultivation Techniques] section and immediately went to the [Unique Scum Items] section.

Unique Scum Items? I wonder what this stuff is.

[Grudge Scented Jade Token – 2000 Scum Points]

[Effects: Absorbs faint resentment from people nearby. When crushed, slightly increases Qi recovery based on how much hatred it stored.]

"What the hell is this thing?!"

[False Heir Signet – 3000 Scum Points]

[Effects: Emits an aura of "implied importance," causing weak cultivators to assume the user has a powerful backer. Fails completely against people with significantly higher cultivation base or experienced schemers.]

As he quickly scrolled through the rest of the items in the shop, he quickly realized that most of them were weird items that were clearly made for him to perform "scummy" actions more safely or rewarded him for doing so.

"All right, I've definitely seen through everything in the world."

After having a basic glimpse of what the system shop had to offer, he quickly realized that the "cheat" he had was definitely made by a certified scoundrel.

Whoever god made this thing is either a genius or a demon lord! If that kind of thing even exists in this world.

After smiling to himself for a couple of seconds, he quickly analyzed all of the things currently available to him in the shop and started to think about the most important things to purchase.

First, I obviously need to buy a lot of Tier 1 Qi Nurturing Pills so I can absorb a lot of spiritual energy quickly and speed through the Elementary Profound Realm.

I'll also buy a few healing and antidote pills just in case I get into a sticky situation, since I plan on leaving the Azure Dragon Sect for a while after this.

Next, I need to buy armor for myself; I don't really think I'll need a weapon since that's not my style.

If my hunch is correct, since I'm gonna be a "fire type cultivator," I can just form any sort of weapon using my "Sunfyre."

Finally, I need to pick a few "Unique Scum Items" from the shop that can help me with my current situation.

I already have a few that I've got my eyes on, although they are pretty expensive.
