The small hotel outside Warsaw was quiet. Stone walls. Wood beams. A single lamp lit the room Tomasz had booked.
My mother arrived at 8:22.
Simple gray coat. Hair down. Small overnight bag.
Tomasz opened the door.

She stepped in.
They hugged.

They moved to the bed.
Clothes came off slowly.
