Chapter 20 - [00:00:00] 20

After we finished repairing everything, we were surprised to realize it was already ten at night.

Not long after, someone finally logged in—Herohero.

His translucent slime body appeared before us, looking just as tired as ever. We greeted him warmly, and for a while, the three of us talked like old times.

After greeting him, I excused myself for a moment. I logged out briefly to wake Ulbert and make sure he entered the game as promised. Soon enough, he joined us.

The four of us talked for a while, reminiscing about the old days. However, as expected, Herohero didn't stay long. He apologized, saying he was exhausted and had work the next day. After a few final words, he logged out.

Once he was gone, Momonga quietly retrieved the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown.

We decided it was time to head to the Throne Room—for a final farewell.

As we were about to leave, Ulbert suggested bringing Demiurge along. Since Demiurge was, in a sense, my husband according to the adjusted settings, I agreed to come with him to fetch him. I also decided to bring Alastor.

Momonga walked ahead toward the Throne Room with the butler and the pleiades, while Ulbert and I went to gather Demiurge and Alastor.

After that, the four of us made our way toward the Throne Room together.

-----

When we entered the Throne Room, we found Momonga standing before the console, clearly editing Albedo's settings.

He was laughing awkwardly to himself.

The moment he noticed us, he stiffened. A flicker of panic crossed his expression, and he hurriedly closed the settings window, but not fast enough—It was too late.

By the time Ulbert and I stepped up beside the throne, I forcefully grabbed the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown from him and reopened the last edited file.

There it was.

'Albedo is deeply in love with Momonga.'

Ulbert leaned closer to the screen. Slowly, both of us turned to look at Momonga. He could not say a word.

Even as an undead, he somehow managed to look embarrassed.

Without hesitation, I lightly struck his skull with the staff. "Control yourself."

Momonga raised both hands defensively. "It was a harmless adjustment!"

"Harmless?" I repeated. "You rewrote a woman's heart and call it harmless?"

Ulbert covered his mouth, clearly enjoying this.

Momonga cleared his throat. "It was… a minor modification."

I sighed and edited the line. 'Albedo has developed feelings for Momonga.'

Momonga looked startled. "You… didn't delete it?"

"I refined it," I replied calmly. "You don't jump straight to 'deeply in love.' What is this? A speedrun romance?" Ulbert snorted.

Momonga protested, "There is nothing wrong with efficiency!"

"This isn't dungeon raiding," I shot back. "You cannot min-max affection!"

Ulbert crossed his arms, watching in amusement. "He does have a habit of optimizing everything."

I turned back to Momonga. "Listen carefully. If you want Albedo to have feelings for you, then you must also add in your own settings that you have feelings for her. Even if you are an undead"

Momonga froze. "That is unnecessary."

"It is called fairness," I replied. "You cannot demand devotion while offering emotional bankruptcy."

Ulbert nodded seriously. "That does sound morally questionable."

Momonga looked betrayed. "Ulbert?"

I pointed the staff at him like a lecturing teacher. "This is why you are the rebellious son. You want loyalty, admiration, You want someone to love you—but you do not think about how she would feel if you rejected the very emotion, you forced planted into them yourself."

Momonga muttered, "I did not expect a parenting lesson tonight."

"Too late," I said. "Character development patch update."

Ulbert lost it at that and started laughing openly.

After a long, dramatic silence, Momonga slowly opened his own character settings. "…Fine." And quietly added that he, too, has developed feelings for Albedo.

Ulbert blinked, Finally realizing something, "…I didn't know the two of you were related."

Momonga cleared his throat awkwardly and briefly explained the earlier incident about the NPC settings labeling Henry as the Father of the Forty-One Supreme Beings.

Ulbert listened—Then suddenly burst into uncontrollable laughter, clutching his stomach. "…So he grounded you?"

Momonga muttered, "This is the worst final day of YGGDRASIL."

------

The arrangement in the Throne Room was now slightly different from the original.

Momonga sat upon the throne.

Ulbert stood at his right side. I stood at his left, with Demiurge positioned beside me on my left.

Albedo stood beside Sebas Tian, and together with the butler and the maids, she knelt gracefully as Momonga had instructed, forming an orderly line before the throne.

It was a subtle change in position—yet it felt deliberate, as if marking the final moments of YGGDRASIL in our own way.

-----

The Throne Room was quiet.

The countdown clock floated in the corner of their vision. [00:10:32]

For a moment, no one spoke.

Then—"So," Ulbert muttered, arms crossed. "This is really the end."

Henry let out a soft breath. "Yeah. Ten years… gone just like that. We conquered doungen. Collected World Items. Terrorized half the server."

"Correction," Ulbert said dryly. "Henry terrorized half the server."

Henry shrugged. "Efficiencly."

Ulbert smirked. "You raided ninety-five percent of the guilds."

"And you all enjoyed the loot," Henry replied calmly.

The timer ticked down. [00:07:18]

"…Do you regret it?" Momonga asked suddenly.

Henry tilted his head. "Regret what?"

"Spending so much time here."

Ulbert answered first. "No."

Henry nodded slowly. "This place… was home."

Momonga looked at Nazarick's ceiling.

"I'm glad," he said softly, "that it was with you two."

Ulbert scoffed lightly. "Don't get sentimental now."

"You're the one who showed up at midnight," Henry teased.

Ulbert rolled his eyes. "You forced me."

Henry smiled faintly. "And you still came."

The timer continued. [00:03:41]

Momonga's voice grew quieter. "…After this, we log out. And that's it."

"Yeah," Henry replied. "No more raids."

"No more treasury expansions," Ulbert added. "No more late-night strategy meetings."

Silence settled over them again.

Then ublert spoke. "If there is another game someday… we'll build something even bigger."

Momonga chuckled. "You're already planning the sequel?"

"Always."

The countdown reached its final minute. [00:00:59]

Momonga tightened his grip on the staff.

"…Thank you. For staying until the end."

Ulbert looked away slightly. "Don't misunderstand. I just didn't want you sitting here alone."

Henry gave a small smile. "Yeah. Someone has to supervise the rebellious son."

"…I will pretend I did not hear that," Momonga replied.

[00:00:10]

They stood in silence.

Side by side.

Not guildmaster.

Not strategists.

Just friends.

[00:00:03]

Henry exhaled.

Ublert closed his eyes briefly.

[00:00:00] And the clock struck zero.

The moment we were transferred—Barely a second had passed when an unbearable pain exploded inside my head.

It felt like a violent migraine, far worse than anything I had ever experienced. At the same time, hundreds of translucent screens burst into existence inside my mind, overlapping, flashing with unknown symbols and streams of information.

The overload forced my body to stumble.

I staggered slightly and instinctively leaned against Momonga's throne for support, gripping the armrest as my vision swayed.

I shut my eyes tightly and brought my hand up to cover them up, pressing my palm against my face as if trying to stop the overwhelming surge inside my head.

Then I felt something warm trailing down my face.

It wasn't tears.

It was blood.

Thin streaks of crimson seeped through my fingers, trailing down from my eyes and dripping onto the floor below.

"Henry!"

Momonga and Ulbert immediately panicked.

They could both sense something was wrong—not only with me, but with themselves as well. Their bodies felt different… heavier, more real.

But they couldn't investigate further.

Not when Henry was struggling to remain standing beside the throne, blood streaming from his eyes as his body trembled under the overwhelming pain.
