Natalia laughed in a very loud way as I said that. Oh, I cared less. I knew she was going to react that way, but somehow, her reaction made me angry, just like how she thought less of me, so does Xavier. The thought of being at his mercy again and allowing him to think so little of me, that I was still that weak girl who watched her father die and unknowingly made herself the prime suspect. No matter what , I was gonna prove to both of them I could do it.
So I looked into her eyes and said, "What's funny?"
She looked at me and said, "You," laughing out even louder.
I kept my expression hard, staring deep into her eyes until she came to a sudden stop.
"Oh, you are serious?" she asked now in a serious tone.
I just pushed a black card into her hand that had unlimited money.
"I'm sure Mr. Cross is gonna still pay you, but here's my token too," I said, and she looked at me in utter disbelief. Her eyes flashed hungrily towards the card, but before she could grab it, I pulled it back.
