"That's not a great way to greet your stepson or your sister-in-law," the woman said, walking toward our table with confident strides.
As she drew nearer, I caught the scent of vanilla perfume drifting from her.
"You're not welcome in my house, Agatha," Vivienne said with sharp edges to her voice. "And neither is he." Her finger pointed accusingly at Bennett.
Bennett remained still, but mischief sparkled in his gaze. "Hello stepmother."
"Don't push it," Dorian warned, his words coming through clenched teeth.
My heart clenched painfully. What kind of mess had I stumbled into this time?
Bennett shifted his attention to Dorian, a sly smile playing on his mouth. "Hello, baby brother."
Quentin shot up from his seat, his hazel eyes burning with anger. "I just knew you were scheming something," he said to Agatha.
Vivienne's brow furrowed in bewilderment. "You've met with her?"
