Chapter 9 - Training, training and training

Kaen and Solvane train together, practising hand-to-hand combat, Solvane being a specialist in this type of fighting.

In the morning, they woke up in the coliseum without understanding why. They saw Elizabeth, who looked them straight in the eye, as if their thoughts were in perfect alignment. They asked, "Big sister, how did we get in here? We didn't have to go through the palace and up the stairs to get here.' Confused, Solvane continued, "I know, you brought us here yourself, didn't you?"

Elizabeth replied sincerely, "No."

They looked at her with even more confusion.

"No need to look at me like that. Yesterday, I was just joking around. We could have gone there directly, but where's the fun in that for me? All I have to do is open a portal, and I arrive at my desired destination. It's really no fun, you know," she whispered, her voice barely audible but loud enough for them to hear. "It's certainly not because seeing you panic is really amusing."

They both sighed at their elders shameless speech.

'This woman is truly shameless,' he couldn't really hide his thoughts; his face full of disgust, saying everything there was to know.

Elisabeth paid no attention to his moaning and spoke seriously, "Enough jokes for today, we don't need hand-to-hand combat and martial arts training."

That's how Kaen ended up getting beaten by his little sister

.....

30 minutes later

The more their fists clashed, the more Kaen adapted to Solvane's movements. Even though he knew she was being easy on him, he began to respond.

"Now stop, it's time to rest a little." She said giving them something to eat and a bottle of water.

They spent some time together and then resumed training.

Despite the hours passing, Kaen was unable to gain the upper hand over Solvane, despite his supernatural genius. Hours of daily training combined with her natural talent made Solvane a veritable monster, virtually unbeatable at her level.

"Sto..." Elisabeth began before being cut off.

Kaen continued, "No," he looked at his older sister with serious eyes.

"I want to continue, even if it's just one fight."

"You can go ahead", said Elizabeth nonchalantly.

Kaen and Solvane stood facing each other and looked at each other.

"You can go", said Elizabeth nonchalantly.

Kaen ran towards Solvane and kicked her in the head. Solvane easily dodged the kick by ducking down and saw an opening. She punched him in the stomach. He stumbled back a few metres.

"Round two, big brother," Solvane said in a confident tone, raising her right arm and wiggling her finger provocatively, a confident smile appearing on her face.

"Okay, I'm coming," said Kaen with a tense and serious expression.

This time, he wasn't rushing in blindly because he was at the end of his tether. The punch had brought him back to his senses.

He looked at his sister and remembered all the fights they had had so far, trying to find a weakness to exploit.

Yes, Kaen was giving his all to win against his little sister, because this was not a fight between siblings but between combatants.

He slowly advanced towards Solvane, his red eyes filled with determination. After finally approaching his little sister, he punched her in the face, but she blocked it with her forearm, and he took the opportunity to kick her in the leg, but as if she felt nothing, she began to imitate Kaen and kicked him in the leg. After Kaen fell due to his loss of balance, she placed her hand on his throat to mark her victory.

Elisabeth applauded with her hands, wearing a soft smile. "It was a good fight, both of you. Kaen, for once, you used your brain, and Solvane, despite your kind nature, you managed to tease your opponent's ego and push him into making a mistake" Elisabeth elisabeth hadn't finished yet "Kaen, I can see the frustration on your face right now, but there's no need to be frustrated. Even though Solvane is your little sister, she still has years of training ahead of her."

"You're right, I'm sorry," he said, looking at his little sister with a guilty expression on his face.

"You...'" Elisabeth began

"You have no reason to be sorry. These are your emotions, and if you are capable of feeling frustrated about your training, it fills me with joy because it means you are taking it seriously, and nothing could make me happier than that," replied Solvane, moved by her brother's obvious change.

'And I thought I was weird, but these two women clearly have psychiatric problems.'

"You know I don't remember anything, Solvane. It's really embarrassing when you talk about the old me like that."

"Oh, I'm really sorry," she said in a melancholy tone.

"Enough sad talk for today,"she said to ease the tension in the room.

"Today's training is over. Tomorrow is weapons training," said Elisabeth with a mysterious smile.

'What is this old woman up to?'

"Are you speaking ill of your beloved sister? That breaks my heart, Kaen," said Elisabeth dramatically, exaggerating.

"Yes, this woman has a psychiatric problem," he whispered, thinking he was speaking in his head.

An invisible vein began to bulge from Elizabeth's forehead.

'What did you say, you incorrigible little brother?'

He began to tremble before his sister's aura.

"Nothing at all, I promise," fear escaped from his vocal cords.

"Good boy," she said, stroking his head.

Now it was Kaen's turn to be angry, but what could he do against this monster?

"Right, now you're back and rested, are you all right? This was only the beginning of the training. Tomorrow will be a good day for you. Oh no... You know what? Just Kaen will rest. Solvane, you stay with me."

Solvane pointed at herself. 'Me?'

"Yes, yes, you," said Elizabeth with a smile that did not bode well.

Kaen took the portal and, seeing his comfortable bed, collapsed onto it as if he had found his wife, lost for a century.

'What does the old woman want with Solvane?'

Solvane and Elisabeth watched Kaen disappear from the room.

"Why did you keep me here?"

Elisabeth remained silent and replied, "You know, Solvane, Kaen has more secrets than you might think. Even though he is only an awakened one, he already has a soul weapon that should only be unlocked at the next stage, and you, who do not have one, will not be able to follow the training that will follow, so tonight you will break through to the next level."

Solvane looked at his sister hesitantly.

"Ohh, you really think I don't know why you haven't made a breakthrough all this time... Look at him, I thought he would never recover, and yet he has really changed. What do you think he will do when he sees you succeed? Will he lose motivation again? Or will he take you as an example and continue to evolve? If there is a time to trust him, it is now. Don't you think? "
