A cheerful time in the dark forest because after years waiting for their revenge on the one who forced them into a life of confinement, they finally have a chance to get their revenge or is it so? The queen brings the boy, Tatenda forward so that Mukura can say goodbye to him before Garamba kills her.
"Please ma'am, do not do this to my sister!" the Tatenda pleads with Garamba holding her garment.
"Your sister?" she scoffs, "Little boy, this one here is old enough to be your grandma! Wait, actually old enough to be your mother!"
"What the hell are you talking about, lady? I am only seventeen years old!" she interjects clarifying her age.
Garamba shifts her attention to Mukura, "If what you are saying is true, then why are you wearing the same exact clothing as before and the same exact face as you had years ago!"
Mukura stares straight into her eyes, "Because this outfit was given to me by the queen of the enchanted forest and this is the face I grew into from childhood and I do not know what you are talking about!"
Garamba cogitates deeply searching in her mind of any possibility that Mukura could be telling the truth and a flash of her conversation with Gwanhoya hits her mind and she smiles.
"I believe you!" she turns back after accepting, "But this is also an opportunity for me to strike Genteel hard by killing you," she outlines her intentions, "Her one and only daughter!"
"I am not her daughter! Why do you people keep saying I am her daughter!?" she raises her voice in anger.
"Little lady, it seems like a lot has been hidden from you!" she places her hand on Mukura's head and closes her eyes reading her memories.
"What are you doing to her? Get away from her!" Tatenda yells at Garamba so that she can stop.
"Close his mouth! He is starting to annoy me!" she says looking at him with cold eyes and he freezes and stops talking.
"Do not do anything to him! He is just an innocent child!" Mukura tries to defend him.
"I do not care! He will serve as a sacrifice for more power." Garamba moves her gaze to Mukura, "A pure child really but what is more interesting is a pure seventeen-year-old in all aspects of purity!" she sniffs Mukura and her eyes glow red.
"So, you are that kind of witch?" Mukura is disappointed, hearing about the sacrifice.
"What? Did your mother not tell you about how witches live?" Garamba's face looks thoughtful, "Or she was too embarrassed to tell you how witches do?"
"You are lying. My mother is not like that! Sure, she is a lot of things but Takada is not a witch!"
"You still deny the truth even if the facts are presented to you in your face?"
"I have grown tired of people trying to place doubt in my mind!" she bursts out trying to free herself shaking the whole place.
Garamba laughs, "The fact that you deny it, does not mean it is not true!"
"It also does not mean that it is true also!" she continues to deny.
A witch calls Garamba over and she immediately leaves to attend to her. Garamba gives the witch an ear and she return to Mukura after the witch had relayed the information to her.
"Good news, I guess today you get to learn the truth about who you came out of little girl!"
Mukura does not reply. Garamba unties her and takes her to the northern side of the boundary. She opens up the boundary holding Mukura from behind.
"Hello old friend, how long has it been? Eighteen or nineteen years?
"I never kept count!" Genteel replies with her eyes focused on Garamba.
"Well, I did! And it seems like you got busy and got yourself this little sweet thing here!" she pushes Mukura a little bit forward.
"Garamba, our issues are between you and me. Let her go, she has nothing to do with this!"
"Funny, last time out I saw two boys joining our battle and they were on your side!"
"You were trying to destroy the world! Were they supposed to wait until they were wiped out?" moves forward a bit.
"Ah, ah! I would not get so close if I were you or your daughter dies!" Garamba warns her.
"Can you please tell her that I am not your daughter!" Mukura annoyed pleads with her.
Genteel remains silent.
"You see little girl; she won't say it because she knows that she is your mother!" Garamba presses on smiling.
"Please tell her I am not your daughter!" Mukura pleads with Genteel with tears about to flow from her eyes.
"I can't do that!" Genteel replies.
"Woah, that is just touching!" Garamba explodes jocundly, "Now, tell her why you can't tell her that!"
"Yes, tell me why you can't just tell her that I am not your daughter when you know that I am not your daughter!" Mukura shouts out pressing on, "Tell me why!" she yells again.
"Because ... I am your mother!" Genteel spills out the truth to her and begins to cry, "I am your mother the one who gave birth to you but I was told to let you go with your father to protect you!" she drops down on her knees, "I am sorry!"
"I understand how you feel sister for I myself was forced to leave my child also after that defeat and I guess you already knew that!"
"It can't be true! How can you be my mother?" she dives into her thoughts, "If you are my mother it just means that my mother and father are not my real parents and that I ...…"
"Tofireyi is your father!" she clarifies that to her.
"Well, now that we have got that out of the way! I can proceed with my plans to kill her!"
"No please do not kill my child, Garamba! Kill me instead!" she rises from the ground.
"Now where is the fun in that?" she smiles moving her hands from the back to the neck, "All I want to do now is see you drowning in pain."
"I will not let you kill her!" a voice comes from above them.
They all look up and see Gurudza in the sky floating.
"Your hand is healed, but how?" she asks looking surprised to see her.
Mukura smiles looking at him and Genteel seems to be confused because she cannot make out who he is.
"That is none of your concern! Just let her go now before things get bad!"
"Now, is that any way to speak to your mother?"
"You are not my mother! My mother died when I was still a baby and you are disrespecting her memory by wearing her face!" he rejects her claim.
Hearing this, Genteel is enlightened, "Your child? You mean the child you had with the Chief of Domboguru?"
"Yes, the one you made me stay away from all of these years!"
Genteel walks forward, "I am sorry that I made you stay away from your son but you yourself know that was your fault, you wanted to destroy the world!"
Garamba moves forward towards Genteel too, "That is my destiny!" she places her hand on the chest.
Genteel throws her hand coming close face to face with Garamba, "To hell with your destiny, was your on to have a future with the whole world gone? Yet you claim to the sentiments of love towards your son! What kind of world was he to live in when he himself was to be dead?"
"I was going to protect him from harm!" she exclaims.
"Do you really think that those things have your interest at heart?" Genteel says placing her hand on Garamba's shoulder, "Come on, I know you are smarter than this!"
Genteel turns her head and looks at Gurudza and Mukura who are standing at a distance, "Look at them sister, we have wronged them a lot, do you not think that it is time we both turnover a new leaf?"
Garamba's tears flow as she also turns to look at them, "He hates me! He said that I am not his mother and that his mother is dead!"
Genteel smiles holding Garamba's cheeks, wiping off her tears and softly she says to her, "Most probably because that is what she was told! And with what you were doing I would not blame Taruziva for saying that but you have a chance to correct it and I would lie if I say that if I was in your shoes, I would not be hurt by hearing that!"
"I guess you and me were not cut out for this mother thing!" Garamba smiles back at Genteel speaking with a soft voice.
Genteel bumps her head on Garamba's, "No, not really. We were not given a chance to be mothers by fate."
Garamba laughs closing her eyes, "I thought you said to hell with destiny," they both move their heads away from each other.
"I did not say to hell with destiny! I said to hell with that destiny of yours that makes you destroy things!" she denies clarifying what she meant.
"It seems like you two made up and no one is dying tonight!" Mukura is relieved by the way things worked out.
Both Garamba and Genteel laugh turning going in their direction, "Yes, yes it did!" they reply simultaneously.
Gurudza looks at Mukura with relief, "I am glad you are okay, do not know what I would do if anything happens to you!"
Mukura stares back at Gurudza, "Do not go soft on me Mr. Chikanda!" she smiles, "Thank you for worrying about me!" they continue staring at each other for a while.
Genteel and Garamba study the situation closely trying to grasp what is going on.
Genteel points her finger at Gurudza, "You better not be trying to impregnant my daughter young prince!"
Garamba pushes her playfully, "What do you mean? And what would be so wrong about that!?!"
Mukura removes her eyes from Gurudza and walks towards Genteel, "I am still having a hard time believing that you are my mother, I mean you said I am your daughter but why did you leave me? Why let me go? Was I not what you imagined me to be?" Mukura catechises Genteel.
Gurudza gets closer to Mukura and holds her, "You too, you have a lot of explaining to do unless you two are just playing with our emotions."
Garamba and Genteel stare at each other knowing that there is nowhere to run and hide.
Garamba sighs as if she is about to go first and shakes Genteel's shoulder, "You go first!"
"Why me?" Genteel asks.
Garamba points at Mukura, "She asked first!"
"Alright then, I will go first. But let us sit somewhere so we can talk."
"Let us get inside the forest and talk there!" Garamba offers.
All three together agree and follow her into the forest.
