Chapter 39 - War and Sanctification

Mukura points the stuff at Gwanhoya and a large amount of water condenses and flows towards her, sweeping off her darkness. The ancient witch shocked to see her do this easily. Quickly breathes put fire to burn Mukura who easily dodges and Gwanhoya spreads the fire to prevent her from escaping the wrath, launching a counter attack at her. A huge wind extinguishing the fire spreading out. A huge stone land on Gwanhoya's back. Another smaller faster one lands on her right cheek; another one lands on her stomach and she falls to the ground beaten.

Mukura watches all this unfold, but is confused as to what is going on. Who is doing this? Has the Wezhira god finally decided to assist in the battle? If so, the battle is as good as won. She smiles relieved, slowly and softly blowing out air through her mouth. But who is it that has done this unexpectedly? She searches hopeful to see who it is that intervened, in her mind Wezhira wanders around more. There is no one in the world right now able to do that to the ancient witch what has just happened.

Gwanhoya gets up groaning in pain, a faint image of a smiling Genteel appears in front of Gwanhoya with her back turned against the witch smiling at her daughter. There is a lot of power being emitted by the ghost shadow of Genteel. So, she is the one who damaged Gwanhoya just now? She thinks back to the time she was drowning in darkness, she did not escape by her own power, the feeling felt like when her mother removed the darkness from her.

Something in black appears by her side looking the opposite direction and it appears to have a female figure on it. Could it be that she is? Mukura quickly looks up in front of her, laying eyes upon a panting Gurudza who seems to have recover a bit of his strength. Mukura slowly walks towards her mother's ghost. With Garamba the other ghost moving towards Gurudza. A sparkling tear runs down Genteel's cheek and vanishes as it is about to hit the ground. The mothers have their children right in front of them and they run their hands through them. There is a lot of emotion being emitted by both of them and Mukura can feel them both. Gurudza hold his ribs which are still healing slowly. She places her hand above the hand holding the rib, darkness accumulates on her hand and penetrates inside him. She smiles crying, her time with her child short lived. He no longer has a mother or father or anyone in his life, he was born with no siblings.

But for Mukura it's a different case, she has a brother and sisters, one she has to save and the others she does not know where they are. Gurudza completely heals finally with Gwanhoya in awe seeing the two mothers. What is going on and how are they able to appear on the living plain of existence without an anchor, unless.... She stops and her eyes run around searching for another person or possibly to see if. She comes in conduct with the young looking Wezhira god alongside the girl that easily beat her the last time. Maybe that is how they are able to access this plain because when she was still in hell she could not access anything. Not even to speak until Mukura. She was able to contact her and manipulate her into bringing her back to life.

The atmosphere has changed, it has become denser for Gwanhoya. Her hands are shaking, why? How can her hands shake over something as menial? Gurudza and Mukura do not have the power to fight her toe to toe even if they tag team on her but the chill in the air has diverted towards her.

Her eyes turn red and black emetising fire from her mouth.

Wezhira's smile is not disappearing and Trey watches him instead of the unfolding battle in front of her.

"Before you leave, you must let the god reign over this nation. The ancestors of the land have prayed to the god and I was wondering why he had awakened from his slumber and trying to escape but now, I understand!"

"What is going on?" she is curious to know more of what he is talking about.

"You will see as it unfolds!"

There is a huge clash of magic on the battle field, the air Mukura has used to defend herself magnifying the fire. Garamba and Genteel slowly disappear into nothingness. Leaving Gurudza and Mukura standing facing Gwanhoya. Gurudza moves forward, in front of Mukura, "You need to start the incantation to cleanse your sister's body, I will distract her!" he jumps rear Gwanhoya creating a spear with his lightning, throwing it towards Gwanhoya whose eyes are wide open surprised by his movement. She barely dodges the lightning jumping to the side. Another one comes immediately after the first one passed.

She dodges again swiftly this time. As all this was happening a cloud gathers high up above her and she did not notice. She tries to move away from beneath it, her feet are stuck on the ground she is unable to move away from it. She thinks back to the time when she was hit by multiple rocks. The rocks came out of nowhere and she did not get to see who it was that threw them at her. But more and more, the young man is beginning to look like his father. The lightning descends upon her, pressing her body down on to the ground, peeling the skin slowly.

Mukura fears for her sister's body, "Gurudza!" she shouts panicking.

"Do not worry, continue with the incantation!" he shouts back at her. He turns to look at the progress and she still has not initiated the incantation, "Mukura! What are you still waiting for?" he is enraged by her still standing around doing nothing.

She startles and begins the chants immediately.

Gwanhoya escapes the lightning leaving a shadow of herself on the ground. Breathing heavily peering at Gurudza with an evil look on her eyes and a malicious grin. The wounds on her body close quickly. She charges at Mukura with much pace on her feet putting her back on one magical strike, with Mukura terrified, unprepared to defend herself but she falls pressed on to the ground. Unable to move her body to continue with her launched attack at Mukura. The power feels very familiar to one she has felt before.

Gurudza walks up to her slowly with Mukura panting eyes wide open, no longer chanting the incantation. The very earth itself seems to be dragging things down to swallow them. Trees around them are falling, but seeing herself Mukura wonders why she is not being affected by what is going on. Not only her but Gurudza also who is getting closer and closer to Gwanhoya. There is a huge magical presence that is surrounding them and she cannot see anyone but her and Gurudza Is Wezhira nearby, not wanting to reveal himself. She smiles in relief; the young god has changed his mind. She hears the earth crack like pressure being forced on one place to create an opening, something hammering Gwanhoya into the earth slowly. Monalisa's is holding on well. Mukura galps saliva.

"This is not the time to get distracted," Gurudza says getting to Gwanhoya, squatting besides the restrained woman, "You should be working on a way to save your sister!" he reminds her again.

Crushed upon the surface of the ground, Gwanhoya laughs, "You sound so confident in yourself, young prince."

Her eyes turn red and black, she forces herself off the ground slowly fighting the gravitational pull. Gurudza releases her from the pressure allowing her to get up off the ground. His eyes glow white, crackling with lightning. Gwanhoya grins glaring at him, blood thirsty. They charge at each other from each end meeting on the centre clashing causing an earth tremor. Mukura is amazed by this distracted from what she is supposed to do.

Wrestling with Gwanhoya, he shouts, "You need to start now!"

Mukura is still distracted watching them go head-to-head shaking the whole land.

"Mukura!" he shouts shaking her out of her daydream mode.

She nods and crosses her legs sitting on the ground opening her hands and begins chanting.

Gwanhoya kicks Gurudza on the stomach, beats him on his back with the elbow, steps on his head. Glares at Mukura who has her eyes closed, chanting softly. Gurudza smiles with a leg pressing him against the ground. She has begun the process and now it is up to him to make sure she finishes everything. He lifts his hand smiling, lightning crackling on his hand, lightning descends upon Gwanhoya bringing her down. Leaving scars all over her body. He gets up off the ground stretching his body. Gwanhoya tries to get up off the ground. A huge stone hits her on the back forcing her down. She tries to move it and it keeps getting harder for her to move. The huge baulder crushing her. So, it was not the young god after all who hit her with stones before. It was Gurudza, the boy once again is being a nuisance. She has had about enough of him at this point. Red mist arises from her body pushing the baulder back. Rising off the ground levitating still holding on to her magical stuff. Gurudza steps on the ground hard bringing her back down but she is stubborn, she lands on her feet with her face facing down, a smirk on her face glaring at him. Hits the ground with her stuff, a dark thick smoke storms towards Gurudza covering all the escape routes. Trapped in the middle he cannot do anything except watch as it surrounds him.

He stomps on the ground, lifting up a huge rock. With great speed he moves it towards the direction where Gwanhoya was before the dark thick smoke arose. Gwanhoya appears behind him, moving her hand around his neck, sniffing him with her eyes closed. He quickly turns swinging a back hand to hit her but she moves down punches him in the stomach, on to his back kicking him in the behind. Stretching her stuff, hitting him on the back and he groans in pain. Gwanhoya smiles licking her lips, delighted with the responds to the pain she is inflicting on him. She gets up in front of him, tries to beat him on the chest with the stuff but he catches it. Breathing heavily, his eyes glowing, pissed off.

She accumulates darkness in her hand, blast him on the face with it. Gurudza shakes his head, hits the ground with open palms. Instantly the ground attempts to swallow her with no tongue, pressed hard on it struggling to get up again.

It is clear to her now; the young prince is not trying to fight her but rather restrain her and prevent her from stopping whatever Mukura is doing. Her eyes move up to Mukura who is a distance behind the young prince chanting, white aura emanating from all over her body. The power she is giving out is much more similar to that of her mother, the dead white witch Why? And how can this be? She was born to serve the darkness. Where is this pure magic coming from?

"Your end is now here!" Gurudza tells her squatting down, "I really enjoyed your time here. I got to learn about my magical power!" he raises his hand crackling lightning.

Gwanhoya screams loud with the waves of the scream push Gurudza back rolling on the ground. Stopping, he holds his ears bleeding out whilst the witch gets up released from the gravitational magic bleeding from her eyes. Glares up in the sky creating a violent whirl darkness pushing it towards Mukura.

In the state that he is in, Gurudza is unable to help Mukura from this danger. And she is too far gone in the mediation to perceive anything that is going on around her, the white light glowing around her. The dark whirl wind hits, and she smiles with her success watching the darkness explode. There is no more light.

"Finally, it is over!" she shouts out excited turning, staring at Gurudza, eyes glowing with happiness. Gurudza struggles still with his hurting ears, blood still flowing out of them with a ringing irritating sound.

Grab him by the throat, he struggles to remove himself from her grip. His eyes closed, his ears hurting.

"Let me bid you farewell, young prince!" she says breathing heavily opening her mouth looking as if she is about to throw up.

Liquid like darkness, comes out of her mouth like a snake twisting and turning going into his mouth. Entering his mouth slowly, hurting him, screaming in pain. Slowly he loses his strength, his body losing its will to fight. She stops emitting the liquid darkness into his mouth, throws his body away. It rolls on the ground shivering. He is not dead yet but the darkness moves inside him burning his body from the inside.

She has removed the last obstacle to her plans and now she can restart everything without anyone to interfere or stop her from opening the portal for her god to come through into the world of the living. She turns to leave the bodies there. The darkness is overcome by light instantly, luminous, so intense it blinds her. Where is this light coming from? Is the god intervening now? She waits for the light to clear out but it just keeps on getting brighter. Who could be doing this? She tries to dim the light with her darkness but nothing seems to be working. Gurudza's body floats, still quivering slowly becoming stable as she watches.

What is going on right now? She cannot feel any kind of power from the light. The light instantly disappears, Gurudza's body falls onto the ground. Her darkness has been cleared completely. the land has been healed. She is shocked to see such a transformation, just one giant wave of light. From all the damage it has suffered during the battle.

Her eyes cross paths with two women standing in a distance glaring at her. Who are they? She walks towards them slowly to see clearly. Noticing the dress on the other lady, she saw her once but where? A white dress laced with silver lines. Holding the stuff of Genteel and besides her is her descendant, Mukura. The light she saw before came from who? Mukura uses the darkness just like her, so where did the light come from? She looks around but still she does not even see the ghost of Genteel or the god who has been aiding them. So many unanswered questions, she is getting weary of these games. She charges towards them, slowly increasing her pace, jumps into the air but her jumping heights have decreased drastically and she tries to blast them with her magic but nothing comes out as she falls.

"What is this?" she cannot understand what is going on with her.

She looks around the land, maybe there is something she missed. But there is nothing, she hits the ground continuously frustrated, screaming, tears flowing down her eyes. She has failed in her quest. Mukura and the woman holding the stuff come closer to her. She is still lying on the ground, shaken by her loss of power. Mukura squats in front of her and grabs her ancestor by the chin.

"I have to say, thank you to you, my ancestor!" she sighs, "But your unwelcomed stay has been a little too long!"

The woman, Catherine hands over the stuff to Mukura. She gets up holding the stuff, "It is time I get my sister back from you, wicked witch!"

She spreads her hands out wide. A strong wind awakens lifting Gwanhoya from the ground. She struggles groaning. Slowly, the shards of Gwanhoya's soul leave the body. Catherine watches as Mukura commands the power of sanctification like her mother. Cleansing Monalisa's body, removing the soul of the damned witch. Once a great traditional and spirit medium. In the middle of the cleansing, she sees Gurudza on the ground, lying lifeless. She wants to rush there immediately to check on him. But she cannot afford to lose concentration on exorcising Gwanhoya's spirit from Monalisa's body.

She turns to look at Catherine, who is standing beside her, "Catherine, can you check on him over there!" she asks her.

Catherine nods, "Of course, Divine, let me check on him." She immediately departs leaving Mukura to finish off what she is doing.

Catherine gets to where Gurudza's body is lying down. She drops on her knees, set him on the ground well, run her hands over him. He seems to have been cleansed of something. Something dark had entered him and his body is weak. She looks at Mukura with sad concerned eyes. They both sighs from a distance to each other.

Mukura concentrates on removing Gwanhoya from Monalisa's body. Slowly, she begins to see a shadow come out. Smiles in relief, the sanctification magic is working. She pins the stuff into the ground. A light explosion occurs, blinding them all from seeing anything. Gwanhoya spirit smiles staring at Mukura, proud of her descendant, somehow and she disappears leaving Monalisa's body falling on to the ground.

Mukura quickly rushes over towards her sister, kneels down and places Monalisa's head on her thighs. She tears up, wetting her cheeks and Monalisa's face. Thankfully, she is still breathing but she is showing no sign of waking up. She stares at Catherine who also is having the same signs from Gurudza.

In the distance, Wezhira watches, silent, proud. They have fulfilled what he thought they would. And they did so after a long struggle learning everything in battle. He disappears from the battle field.

Catherine and Mukura, get up and carry Gurudza and Monalisa home. The age of darkness has passed and hopefully the era of peace begins. A woman sets foot on the battlefield searching for something? She wears traditional clothing, with rattles on her legs and stuff. Something small walks up to her, crawling on the ground ad she reaches down and takes it up.

"The time has come to restore our ways, my lord!" she turns to return where she came from disappearing into the rising mist.

A group of people watch in the distance, on the mountain top where Wezhira was, wearing varieties of traditional clothing. Each folding hands in front.
