Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: Taken Away

Eliana opened her eyes again, now in a large open field that was filled with shrubs on the ground and a few half-dead trees scattered around. Arceus above, out of all the times to do this. I was just getting to sleep!

The teenager scowled, it wasn't Sabrina or any of her Pokémon that did it. She could recognize all of their signatures by now and what just appeared in her room wasn't it. She was tired and whoever did this would pay once she found out where she was. Eliana wondered how that even happened, Sabrina was going to be pissed someone came into her space like that.

She looked at Raichu who was furiously growling at a man appeared to the group's left. Kirlia and Staryu both positioned themselves in front of their trainer, attacks still at the ready. Eliana gave the man a heated glare as he put his hands up in an attempt to seem not hostile.

Eliana raged in the man's head causing him to flinch from her anger.

The man sighed in dissatisfaction,

Eliana rolled her eyes, she had been like this far before Sabrina had started teaching her. She noticed the man, of course he had to be a psychic, surrounding himself with more energy. He was probably going to teleport again, whether it was himself or them, Eliana didn't wait to find out. Raichu's cheeks sparked angrily, she wanted to attack the man but Eliana stopped her. The teenager's eye glowed furiously as she grabbed ahold of the man and slammed him down, he choked in surprise as his abilities were cut off,

"I'm sorry about that but I needed to rescue you," The man told the teenager, her fury was stopping him from using telepathy. He was starting to sweat from the pressure she had put him under. "I was told this was the only way to get you out of there without Sabrina catching me."

Eliana's eye glowed brighter, demanding to know,

"Because you being there is dangerous," The man stated with a wince, "That gym is no place for a young girl!"

Eliana scowled, what the man first said finally catching up to her,

Eliana's Pokémon all made noises of agreement, glaring at the man. Raichu even giving him a small spark from agitation, watching coldly as he jolted from the attack.

"Young girl, I know Sabrina better than anyone." The man wheezed, "You're playing with fire."

"And how do you know her so well?" Eliana's grip tightened on the man's mind.

"I can't tell you that," The man choked out. "I need you to let me go so that we can get out of here." The man didn't seem to realize that Eliana didn't care about what he was attempting to warn her about.

Her Pokémon all nodded and got into position.

Eliana rolled her eyes and angrily dug into his memories to find the answers he wouldn't give her. For an older psychic, this man defenses were truly pathetic, she had expected better. Eliana had more trouble with random thugs on the street, he didn't even have anything hidden. His name was Robert and his mind was like an open book. It was a simple trip to find what she was looking for, Robert knew Sabrina so well because he was her father! And even more pitiful, he was terrified of her. Eliana had never seen someone so sacred of Sabrina before.

Eliana almost burst out laughing at this worthless father, he was truly pathetic. Turns out Sabrina had been born with her powers, which at that point, were far stronger than anything seen on a person. Sabrina was able to use her psychic powers to do many things, such as teleportation, telepathy, psychokinesis, and transmutation, etc. A lot of the same things Eliana was able to do, she distantly wondered if a legendary Pokémon had interfered at the woman's birth. Sabrina soon became obsessed with perfecting her abilities and secluded herself from everyone. They obviously grew and Sabrina would go on to become a gym leader, Robert sadly didn't have any extra information on that.

Eliana saw his memories of attempting to "rescue" other psychics from Sabrina, most of them had only been there for a day or two but minds were usually already broke. He never actually succeeded, being caught by Alakazam every single time. Eliana believed that Sabrina was playing with him, there's no way he'd be able to escape otherwise, it was hilarious. The way Robert had spoke led her to believe he thought Sabrina had no idea where they were, she was honestly tempted to test that.

He wants to rescue me? What an absolute joke. Eliana thought, a bubble of hysterical amusement rising in her chest. He's like a spooked rattata trying to "liberate" a persian from its comfortable nap.

Eliana let a wave of derision leak into her psychic voice, letting him feel her contempt.

Robert flinched from her disgust, he wasn't expecting this from a child. Eliana saw a different memory, this one actually had worthwhile defenses around it. All the more cause to break them and see, Eliana found that Robert had tried to stop Sabrina from turning her mother into a doll. The first person it had ever been done to, what's truly pitiful family. She remembered the dollhouse, the little figures frozen in their little lives.

She slipped out of his mind, letting go of him and he slumped to the ground, breathing heavily. Robert looked at her with wide eyes, not expecting a telepathic attack of that caliber, much less from someone so young.

Eliana gave him a disgusted look, She asked, her voice dripping with contempt.

She stalked towards around him.

Robert stared at her, his face a mask of shock and disbelief. He had expected a scared, grateful child, not this... this force of nature. He had seen that look before, on Sabrina's face, years ago, before the power had consumed her.

"You... you're just like her," Robert whispered, a flicker of fear in his eyes.

Eliana's Pokémon surrounded Robert as he looked at them nervously. The teenager had finally loosened her hold on him enough for him to breathe normally.

Eliana scoffed. She turned away, her back to him.
