Chapter 23 - The Moment of Arrival

The next day, Raiden was woken up early by his little sister, who was too anxious about today. She even took a day off from school for this.

Looking at his sister, who didn't even know that her brother had already staked the future of both siblings on a bet, Raiden had no choice but to get up from his beauty sleep and start getting ready himself.

Looking at the Woolie, who caused so much ruckus yesterday, yet he was sleeping so soundly today, Raiden felt an urge to kick him. So he did.

Bam!

Woolie, now wide awake, covered himself in thunder, looking around himself for the intruder who dared to disturb his sleep!

"Woo?~" (⊙_⊙)?

Weird? Why is no one here? Only his despicable human partner, nobody else.

"Woo woo woolie woolie woo!!"

Seeing no other choice, he asked the person in front of him. Where is the intruder?

"An intruder, you say? I don't know what you are talking about?? I only saw you sleeping and how you fell from bed while sleeping and daydreaming, nothing else."

It fell from the bed by itself? (⊙o⊙)

"You must believe me. If there was an intruder here, why can't we see him around here? Anyways, enough of that. Since you are already awake, come with me. It's time for a bath."

Raiden dragged the still confused Woolie towards the bath, who still felt something was wrong but couldn't put his finger on it.

While taking a bath, and giving shampoo treatment to Woolie, who seemed to be melting in his hands, Raiden silently muttered open status in his mind.

{Woolie, The Thunder Sheep}

{Rank: Bronze}

Description: Woolie, The Thunder Sheep, is a variant of Woolie, The Farm Sheep. It uses its fleece to protect itself from danger, and it likes to shed its fleece once a week. It starts to feel uncomfortable if it doesn't. This one contains the bloodline of Fenrir, The God-Killer.

{Bloodline: 0.1 % Fenrir, The God-Killer}

{Potential: C Tier (A Tier Upon Maturity)}

{Current Moves: Tackle, Quick Attack, Nuzzle, Cotton Guard, Discharge, Thunder Shock, Volt Tackle, Minimize}

Raiden still felt shocked looking at it. Somehow, this little one had awakened it's Primordial Bloodline, and learnt a move like 'Volt Tackle' no less.

"Raiden, you have been in the bathroom for an hour already!! Come out, or you'll end up all wrinkly!!!" Just as he was about to delve deeper into his bloodline mystery, he was interrupted by his little sister, who had no concept of such thing as personal space, making him speechless.

"Calm down!! I am coming!! Order food or something in the meantime!!!"

He postponed his investigation for later date. Woolie wasn't going anywhere. He had much more important things to do.

After finishing their daily chores and upgrading Woolie, both siblings sat on the sofa in the living room, staring at the phone together, waiting for the clock to strike 10 AM.

"Are you sure we can't call him sooner, Raiden?" Sylvia asked in a nervous voice.

"You brat, we shouldn't interrupt someone who is not in their working hour. Everyone deserves some kind of me time. Also, call me big brother!" Raiden snapped at his sister, who pouted before starting to look at the clock again.

9:55... 9:58... 10:00!!

Moving faster than human speed, Raiden snatched the phone off the table before calling the agent who visited their home.

After a few rings, the call was picked up.

"Hello?" A lazy and confused voice answered.

"Hello Agent Smith!! It's me!! Raiden Ashford. You remember me, don't you? I mean, how can you not? The poor orphan who is saddled with massive debt and a poor little sister whom he needs to take care of. I was wondering what time we are visiting the farm today??"

Agent Smith was dumbfounded. He had just punched in and hadn't even sat down at his desk yet, and he was already getting calls.

"Mr Raiden, the morning has just began right? What is the hurry??"

"No, no, no. You can't think like that, Agent Smith. What might be a normal morning day-to-day procedure for you is life and death for us siblings. If we don't get this farm, we won't be able to settle the mortgage, and if we can't pay off the mortgage, with no source of income and losing our only house, both siblings might end up homeless and will need to sleep on the streets. I am a grown, tough man; I can bear to sleep in any conditions, but my sister, my poor little sister, is such a delicate wallflower. How can you bear to let such a sweet little girl sleep on the streets?? Where is your Conscience? Where is your Empathy? Where is your Humanity?? Where is your—"

"Alright Enough!!" Agent Smith felt like he was already developing a headache. He almost forgot how shameless that big brother was. Not giving him another chance to speak, he continued.

"I remember about your case, and I am working hard around the clock to see it done. So please wait till noon, when I will take you both to see your property. There is even a pleasant surprise waiting for you at the site. Now, don't disturb me again!!"

Bang!

He hung up.

Raiden winced at how loudly he hung up, but he still couldn't stop smiling. Sylvia, on the other hand, felt embarrassed. Her brother was such a shameless person. She should have talked on the phone instead.

"Who are you calling a delicate wallflower, Raiden? I am a very tough person, I'll have you know!!" Sylvia raised her little fists, as if showing how strong and tough she is.

"Yeah, yeah, very tough. You just don't understand the world of adults. If I didn't do that, who knows how long that person would have taken? In this world, you must do whatever you need to do, take any advantage you can to get ahead. If you don't, you will end up falling behind the world." Raiden advised his sister earnestly.

"Whatever. I am talented enough. I don't need to rely on shamelessness like you to get ahead in life. Just watch me." Sylvia just brushed his concerns aside.

"Sigh. Whatever you want, brat, also for the last time, call me big brother!!" He felt she was not wrong. It was enough for the family to have a single person like him. If his sister was forced to act like him, then he had already failed as big brother.

Just like that, both siblings started waiting once again for the clock to strike twelve.

Ding-Dong!!

Hearing the doorbell, Raiden ran up to the door as fast as he could.

"Are you ready to see your farm, Mr Raiden?"
