Chapter 46 - Chapter 45: Gravity vs Infinity

Barely had she roared her words when the gravitational force pinning Geto and the others focused on the space around a single target.

Gojo Satoru.

"Ridiculous, my Infinity—" Gojo's thought faded as quickly as it had appeared.

He was pushed back by the gravitational power emitted by Nayuta's innate technique, something that had never existed before.

"Satoru!! You bastard!!"

After feeling the grip of Nayuta's gravity loosen on him, Geto reacted with surprising speed.

A dragon was summoned by his cursed technique in near-zero time after Gojo was projected outside the building.

The beast swallowed Nayuta without difficulty, but the latter eventually burst open to leave room for the floating silhouette of the adolescent.

In an apparently relaxed pose, Nayuta had her hands shaped like a revolver. A familiar gesture to Geto since he had a very similar technique with his cursed spirits.

Thus, he reacted quickly the moment the young girl's fingers pointed toward him.

"Bam—"

A single word.

Nayuta's technique looked childish and forced her to imitate a revolver. Yet it was undoubtedly more lethal than the attack used against Gojo in anger.

The first had been an area attack whose power was dispersed, while the second was the pure concentration of the essence of Nayuta's power into a single point.

"He has an annoying innate technique due to the many creatures that can be summoned for attack and defense, or even to cover his escape, but the latter remains useless against an overwhelming force," she analyzed while sweeping the entire floor of the building under the assault of invisible gravitational bullets.

In the end, Geto could not block everything.

"M-Geto!!" Reiko noticed the blood from a wound on Geto's back, as the sorcerer ran while carrying her on one shoulder and her unconscious governess on the other.

But the latter did not answer immediately; his mind was working rapidly on an idea to get out of this against the madwoman pursuing them.

"Damn it! What's the principle behind this innate technique!" he cursed inwardly after leaping toward the roof of another building, then summoning a cursed spirit under his control to facilitate mobility.

Geto's question was legitimate given the incompatibility between him and Nayuta's crushing force.

The innate technique: Antigravity System.

(Image)

As its name indicates, this innate technique allows one to oppose gravitational forces, such as the Earth's gravitational force, or even that of a black hole.

When using the "inversion" spell while activating "Antigravity System," the latter considerably amplifies gravity within two or three meters around the user for about six seconds.

But this is the "primary" use of this power. Nayuta can add different parameters with the help of a habit observed in her father.

Of restriction.

"Tsk, I should have used another binding vow for a less obvious gesture and a less childish activation phrase," she muttered while shooting and piercing every cursed spirit Geto was using as a means of transport to get Reiko and her governess to safety.

"Satoru!! Don't tell me you're going to die just from a gust of wind!!" he complained, launching small cursed spirits reinforced by his cursed energy toward Nayuta.

But a gravitational force crushed them toward the ground, as the curse user landed on the roof where Geto had been cornered.

"It's fine!! It's fine!!! I was just surprised earlier," declared Gojo, appearing behind Nayuta.

His fist emitted a blue glow as an attractive force was exerted by him with the goal of delivering a non-negligible blow.

Unfortunately, Gojo's action was not only salvatory toward Geto but also far too reckless against an opponent whose full capabilities he had not yet grasped.

Indeed, the heir of the Gojo clan lacked too much information about his adversary.

What is the maximum range of her technique?

How long can she alternate each use?

Can she apply it in two places at once? If so, to what extent is she capable of it?

Taking all these blind spots into account, Gojo had rushed toward Nayuta far too hastily in his desire to help his friend in difficulty.

This action was proof of his inexperience against an opponent equal to, or even stronger than, himself. Thus, things unfolded in a manner similar to Nayuta's previous attack.

The gravity did not target Gojo Satoru himself, but the space where Infinity was being exerted.

The holder of the Six Eyes ended up pinned to the ground by the gravitational force.

"You know, it's been a while since I last bled," muttered Gojo in a semi-joking tone.

But his eyes were clearly not smiling.

Nayuta's golden eyes no longer held any anger. On the contrary, they held interest for the duo that dared to face her.

"Interesting~ So my previous reckless attack worked because I exerted my power on a vague zone of space itself without specifying the target," she thought to herself before bringing her face closer to Gojo's.

The act itself could be perceived as intimate, but those close to Nayuta would interpret this gesture as when Jin evaluates an interesting piece of merchandise.

A trait inherited by his daughter.

"You two are the only boys of my age group who have ever been able to last this long against me. Frankly, it would be a shame if I relegated beings of your quality to mere dogs or if you died here. Hmm… what do you say to this? Become my favorites," she said while pointing her finger at Gojo's head as her gaze alternated between Geto and him.

The act was not insignificant; Nayuta had noticed Geto's subtle actions as he positioned himself in front of Reiko and her governess.

She was threatening the duo.

"Dogs? Your favorites? Haha, you're funnier than I thought, haha!" Gojo's burst of laughter was quickly followed by Geto's.

Their behavior soon made Nayuta frown again. She considered using the keyword to trigger a gravitational sphere with the goal of pulverizing Gojo's head.

However, the man at the other end of her finger locked eyes with Nayuta with an intense gaze.

"We will never be yours!! Idiot!! We are the strongest!!" retorted Gojo before a powerful attractive force sucked in the roof from the location where Nayuta was standing.

Blue.

A manifestation of Infinity.

Unlike the subtraction embodied by Red, which manifests as repulsion, Blue is embodied by attraction due to the compression of space itself.

Gojo had activated Blue on the ground after Nayuta had pinned him against it.

A reckless gesture.

The opposing duo could truly end up buried by the building, not to mention the collateral damage from Gojo's actions.

"Confidence?" she wondered unconsciously, as the golden eyes stared into those of a hypnotic blue.

The two adversaries were in free fall along with the rubble.

Immediately, several Grade 4 cursed spirits surged forth in a manner similar to a swarm of insects.

Their goal?

To save Gojo and as many civilians as possible!

"My instinct didn't deceive me, this guy… no, these two will make good dogs!!" A light filled with an emotion all too familiar to Jin manifested during the collapse of the building.

Obsession.

Immediately, Nayuta began making hand signs before finally crossing her fingers into a strange shape.

She even started chanting a poem linked to the pain that her father had advised her to use to amplify the power of her innate technique in a situation Nayuta would judge worthy of being called "serious," then extended her arm toward the sky.

At the moment the building was about to definitively bury them,

Nayuta had already stacked several restrictions and vows, but she didn't care.

She was going to use her best defensive technique.

"Antigravity System: Suspension"

At that moment, everything in free fall froze in the air.

The building had frozen.

Nayuta sketched a triumphant smile at the idea of having crushed the stupid ruse of an inferior being with her superior strength and talent, but it was short-lived.

A fist emitting a blue glow crashed into her face.

The innate technique was interrupted.

Nayuta ended up buried.
