"Has there ever been a time you weren't interested?" Nikki challenged, her voice dripping with a mischievous intent.
She arched her back, offering the black ribbon to him like a dare.
Adonis chuckled. He looked at her with half-lidded eyes, his pupils blown wide, swallowing the blue iris in a sea of hungry black.
It was the look of a predator watching prey willingly walk into the trap.
Nikki wondered how he does it every time.
"You calculate your odds of survival incorrectly, Master," he murmured.
He took the ribbon from her fingers.
Before Nikki could even blink, he had seized her wrists, pulled them above her head, and wound the black silk around them. He didn't tie it to the bedpost—he tied her wrists together, tight enough to be secure but loose enough not to chafe.
"There," Nikki breathed, her heart hammering. "Now I'm bou—"
"Incomplete," Adonis interrupted.
