Chapter 4 - Navigator II

Chapter 4: Navigator II

I looked over at the girl, clearly noticing the twitch of her brows as her captain called her a sex slave.

"Is that true? Are you a sex slave? Or… are you the Navigator?"

I'm not an idiot.

Even I could tell what he was implying. The girl was dressed in tight-fitted robes with a chest plate over her and knee guards, and what I assumed were magnetic lock boots.

I figured they would've solved the gravity problem by now, but maybe it's because these guys were pirates? They couldn't afford the good stuff?

"So, what are you, girl? Are you a Navigator?"

If that's the case, I only need her.

I thought she was going to speak up, but instead she shook her head up and down.

I thought she was mute, so I ignored her and picked up the gun.

"You know, if you're not the navigator and I kill this guy, we're all going to die out here." I looked at her, hoping for a response.

Yet all she did was lean back against a pedestal and wave at the guy, almost like she was giving me permission to shoot.

She's confident, I'll give her that.

So I raised the gun at the captain, and before he could say anything, I shot him in the head and walked away, all the while hearing shouting coming from outside.

I looked in her direction and asked a question. "Are you mute?"

She just shook her head.

I looked at her collar and nodded.

'I guess it's like an electric collar? Senses her voice and does something to her if she speaks? Can't kill the navigator, so it probably just shocks her.'

I walked up to touch the collar and asked the system what we could do with it.

{System active: material composition found.

Potassium Nitrate

Carbon

Sulfur

Iron

Gold

…}

I nodded while I looked at the list of materials. It looked simple enough, so I asked the system what I could make with it.

{List of potential collars:

Explosive collar (slim)

Electric collar (slim)

Explosive collar (slim) (on/off switch)

Electric collar (slim) (on/off switch)

Explosive…}

There were many options, but none would allow him to change the collar to anything else, like a TV remote or a phone.

The system didn't work that way.

As an F-rank system, it had many limitations, such as only upgrading items rather than transforming them into something else unless you already had the base materials.

The second limitation is the timer.

{00:00:14}

The bigger the item, the longer it takes to assemble or reassemble.

Leo looked around the ship and pressed his hand against the walls.

{System active: material composition found.

Iron

Cobalt

Gold

Carb-}

I waved my hand in annoyance.

"I don't care about that. Show me what I can make."

{List of potential barge ships:

Jackhammer 9000 (electric floor trap) (in-door turrets) (click here to view more)

Custom build.}

I raised my brow at 'Jackhammer 9000,' but the specs are pretty good.

So I clicked on that one.

{06:45:00}

I just hummed.

Six hours and 45 minutes isn't bad. If I had gotten something bigger, this would have taken days, like my former colony ship.

After the timer showed up, I felt the ship begin to shake a little.

My new navigator seemed to panic, probably thinking we were under attack.

"We're fine. Consider it a superpower."

She nodded her head and looked around suspiciously. I didn't tell her about the collar, though. I wanted to concentrate on something else.

I looked around and found a bed and some supplies.

I opened up the locker and noticed various objects. Mostly trash and… a pocket pussy… ew.

"Why did he have this when he had you?" I asked, looking at the Navigator.

She pointed at her collar and shrugged.

"You can talk now. I used my ability on the collar earlier. Surprised you didn't notice." I chuckled as I saw her blush a little.

"Ah… testing… testing… oh… uh, he just recently captured me on a raid. He was planning to use me later tonight."

"Hmm…" I looked back at her, and honestly, if I were him, I wouldn't be nearly as patient.

I mean… damn.

I was about to ask her a question until I remembered something.

I looked in the direction of the cabinet that supposedly had the weapons I didn't know I had.

I walked up to it and opened the door. I immediately began to regret that as I watched trash start to float around the place.

'I hate zero gravity.'

I started pushing everything against the wall as I watched it slowly melt into the wall.

When I turned back around, I found that there was a gun barrel pointing right at my face. I reached my hand up and grabbed it before it hurt someone or floated away.

It had a gorgeous silver look covering the hammer and frame, with the engraving of various fish on it, and a blood-red grip that almost looked like it was carved out of rubies.

Though, knowing the system, it probably was.

Once I holstered it, I grabbed what looked like a giant futuristic Spartan shield (or a normal sized Spartan shield). This thing was big enough to protect up to three people.

It even had the ^ on it like a real Spartan shield. The shield was painted red, with the ^ being completely white.

Wait, that's not paint. What is this made of?

{Material Composition:

Korax Labradorite

Yellow Carnelian

Celestial Bronze

Giant's Copper Bones

I looked on in confusion.

I've never heard of any of these materials. I grabbed my new spear and noticed even more exotic materials I've never even heard of.

Same for the sword in my shield's holster and the large battle axe.

"Oh, a second pistol… Scratch that, a laser pistol. Nice."

So, two pistols, a shield, a spear, a sword, a battle axe and a ballistic assault rifle.

"Shame there aren't any knives."

My Navigator spoke up and pointed at my waist, "You need MORE knives?"

I looked where she was pointing and found about 20 throwing knives under my… ahem, breast… and a combat knife was apparently strapped to my back.

Nice.
