Chapter 1 - WHAT THE F**K!

Chapter 1: WHAT THE F**K!

"What the f**k!" Someone shouted in a high-pitched voice.

"Where am I?! What happened to my ship?!"

"Who are these people?! How am I not dead?!"

Leo ran around the corridors of what he assumed to be a derelict ship. Only the ship wasn't abandoned.

"Come back ere'! We just want to talk!"

"Yeah! We just wanna play with chyu!"

Leo frantically ran around in panic. Though, strangely enough, he wasn't running out of breath. He had been on his luxury colony ship minutes prior when he woke up suddenly, out of breath and surrounded by frightened men he assumed were pirates.

'But that doesn't make sense! I was meant to be in cryo for 300 years!'

Yet he found himself on a ship that was entirely foreign to him and being hunted by grown men who wanted to eat him or rape him!

Just as Leo was about to ask for assistance from his magical system, a man walked out of a room, probably curious about what all that screaming was about.

The pirate looked around only to see a person barreling towards him. Both Leo and the pirate began to panic, but it was too late.

Yet instead of crashing into the pirate and both of them tumbling to the ground, something far more miraculous and horrifying happened.

"Move out of—!"

Leo's eyes went wide as he ran into the pirate and… went through the pirate.

Leo heard several crunching sounds as he continued running forward, only stopping briefly when he realized he didn't hear any screams.

So he turned around briefly, only to see a mangled mess behind him.

The pirate he had run into had his shoulder twisted and pulverized, his torso had broken in half, and the impact sent him flying towards the wall, where he had broken his neck so badly that the back of his head touched his broken spine.

"WHAT THE F**K!"

"SYSTEEEEEEEEM!"

FLASHBACK: 2030, Edge of the Solar System

"I still can't believe they did it. They actually dropped the bombs. Just like that?"

Leo stood by his window looking at the other colony ships fly by, wondering what went wrong as he stared out the window, reminiscing.

"Was it the system? Did I scare our world's governments so much that they just wanted to even out the playing field? Should I have just stuck with reconstructing used cars instead?"

Leo just stared back at the system screen, wondering what to do with this thing.

{F-rank Reassembly System}

Was it cursed? Should I get rid of it?

"No, that's ridiculous."

He didn't regret anything.

He was a trillionaire CEO because of this thing.

He was exploring the universe with an army at his command. Why should he regret anything?

"Well… seven billion people are dead for reasons I still don't understand…"

'No, get your head out of the gutter. Odds of it being your fault are minimal at best. China and the US have been at each others throats for yeast. It was only a matter of time before they did this.'

Just as he was about to go back to ruminating, somebody walked in with news.

"Sir, we're about to leave the edge of Sol and head out into deep space. It would be best if you went into your cryo pod."

Leo looked back at his secretary.

He could see the awe in her eyes. He was used to it.

In the eyes of the human race, Leo was the smartest person to ever live. A man who had created the first CPU drive that could carry up to 6 Zettabytes, and create even more miracles.

The thing is… he had no idea what a Zettabyte even was, or why 6 is so high.

His only talent was in making money and fighting.

He was a businessman and a soldier, not an inventor or a tech genius.

Once again he stared down at his System, wondering what it did and what it was for.

"Sir?"

Leo just stared back at her briefly, watching her blush a little at his gaze.

'If only she knew I was a fraud. She wouldn't be so eager to please.'

"Sir?"

Leo figured there was no point looking into space and thinking about the past anymore. The future was ahead of him, and he needed to be there.

He looked back at his cryo pod and got ready.

The moment he stepped inside, he was pumped with so many different chemical compounds he didn't even know how to spell. If it weren't for the fact that the system made it, he never would have agreed to inject himself with it.

"This will make it so that your cells don't degrade over time, so you don't turn into a puddle of goo once you wake up. We're replacing some of your blood with a protein that works similar to anti-freeze… Why am I explaining this to you? You made it after all… anyways… when you wake up… did you want to… I don't know… go get lunch?"

Leo just looked at her, confused and conflicted.

He was tempted, but he knew he wasn't in the right state of mind at the moment to give an answer that would satisfy her.

So after contemplating it, he spoke back. "I'll give you my answer when we wake up in 300 years."

His secretary nodded her head happily, ready to head to her own cryo pod.

She turned around with a skip to her step as she waved back at him and left.

Leo just sighed and walked into his pod.

He was too depressed to concentrate on relationships right now. So he just leaned back and spoke the magic word.

"Activate."

[Resident secure. Occupant's vitals, normal. Procedure complete. In 5… 4… 3… 2… 1…]

Leo slowly felt himself fall asleep, and by the time the temperature was somewhere in the negatives, he finally began to feel a slight nip in the air. A sign that the chemical compounds were working as intended.

Right before he fell asleep, he thought back to humanity, Earth, and the future.

It reminded him of a special quote he loved but knew all too well to be true.

'War… war… never changes…'

Then he was asleep.
