Chapter 11 - Su Luli

Lin Feng did not hurry to summon immediately.

He first browsed the trade section to see if anyone was selling the recruitment orders.

However, everyone seems to know the importance of high-grade professional subjects, so they did not sell them for resources.

This was a bit disappointing.

"Guess I have to make do with normal subjects."

Lin Feng shook his head with a helpless look.

Who wouldn't like subjects with high-grade professions after all?

Nevertheless, it didn't mean he should not recruit normal subjects.

"Summon"

Without hesitation he spent one thousand copper coins.

The iron-grade summoning gate didn't charge heavily.

It was one hundred copper coins per subject. Of course, compared to common grade, the cost was increased by fifty percent.

Whoosh!

The summoning gate lit up and soon ten people appeared inside.

Seven men and three women.

"We greet the lord."

They all bowed simultaneously.

In response, Lin Feng waved his hand and inspected their profession.

Only five of them had it, and all were F-grade: hunter, tailor, farmer, cook, and entertainer.

Yes, entertainer was also a profession. Subjects like this were adept at performing on stage, cracking jokes, and so on.

Lin Feng nodded at them and asked them to wait aside.

"Summon"

He spent one thousand copper coins again.

His territory was big after all; hence, he needed more subjects.

Once again, ten people appeared inside the summoning gate.

Six women and four men.

There was nothing too surprising, as five of them were with some miscellaneous F-grade professions.

Lin Feng, as usual, asked them to wait aside.

However, he was not going to do mass summoning again.

It was time to use the iron-grade recruitment order in his system space.

This was the original one he had obtained from the bronze treasure chest.

"Summon"

Once again he spent a thousand copper coins.

The cost for a recruitment order summoning was always high, as it guaranteed a hundred percent high-grade profession.

Whoosh!

The summoning gate lit up and a curvy figure appeared inside.

Clearly a woman.

However, Lin Feng did not care about her face; he first inspected her profession.

"E-grade alchemist?"

He was stunned, not expecting to recruit an profession like this.

"Su Luli greets my lord." The woman bowed gracefully, her voice sounding like an oriole.

Lin Feng finally glanced at her carefully.

She was a young woman with delicate features. Furthermore, she was gorgeous. It won't be false to say she can compare to top stars.

"Welcome to my territory," Lin Feng spoke and beckoned her to stand beside him.

After this he glanced at the twenty new subjects.

"I don't like long speeches, so I will keep it short."

"First, welcome to my territory, Qinghua Garden. Here, as long as you work efficiently, you won't be mistreated."

"Second, there is a terrifying lord buddy, who is supporting me. Which means you don't have to worry about not getting food or shelter."

"Lastly, my territory doesn't keep idle people. If you are found to be wasting time, you will be expelled without further ado."

Lin Feng stated with an authoritative look.

"Fang Wei, take ten men and draw a rough map of the territory and surroundings. Everyone else except Su Luli, go gather resources," he instructed, taking out some water bottles, compressed biscuits, and wooden axes.

"Lord, we don't have pen and paper," Fang Wei reminded.

"I know. Just draw it on the ground here for now," Lin Feng replied.

No one was selling pen and paper so he could only make do with this.

"Understood, lord." Fang Wei did not question and took ten men with him.

The other ten also did not delay and after taking the axe and resources, they went to venture inside the territory.

"Lord, what should I do?"

Now only Su Luli remained.

"Hmm, I don't have anything for you to do. How about you observe the territory and see if there are any items that you need? You can also instruct others to collect them."

Lin Feng spoke after a moment.

Potion making was not simple. It required many rare items and even blueprints.

"As you command, lord," Su Luli replied and took her leave.

Now only Lin Feng remained, waiting for Fang Wei and them to come back.

The map was crucial for him. Through it he would know where to build fences, residential areas, and such.

If he didn't plan this before, then he would be like blue-star governments stuck in a cycle of demolishing and building.

It did not take too long and within half an hour, Fang Wei and others were back.

Soon they drew a rough map on the ground with the lord's house as the center.

His territory was spread two hundred and fifty meters in all directions.

To the south of his territory were mountains along with the water stream they had discovered before.

North and east were covered by dense forest.

As for the west side, it was shrouded in thick fog, making it hard to scout anything ahead.

"Fang Wei, tell me where we should build houses." Lin Feng asked for a suggestion.

He, after all, did not understand the mist world completely. It would be bad if he built the residential area in a dangerous zone.

Fang Wei understood what the lord wanted to do so he pondered for a moment before answering.

"Lord, we should build houses to the north. Although we are deep inside the forest, the level of monsters nearby isn't high. Furthermore, this area is opposite to the south, where monsters usually group together for water, making it safer to reside," he replied.

Lin Feng felt he was right; however, he did not hurry to make a decision. He had to, after all, consider pros and cons.

Like building houses in the north would provide abundant natural resources. It was easy to make traps and hide in the forest for defense. Fewer monsters and so on.

However, there were also cons. The unknown fog from the west was closer. The water source was in the opposite direction. There were insects and hidden reptiles. Most importantly, there was a risk of fire hazard.
