Chapter 61 - The Preparation to Go to Lilian's Hometown

"Can you though?" Lucien asked skeptically. "You're naturally intimidating. It's like asking a wolf to pretend to be a golden retriever."

"I am perfectly capable of being approachable," Dante replied, his tone sharpening with offense.

"You literally told the last person who tried to make small talk with you that their conversational topics were statistically insignificant," Adrian reminded him calmly.

"They were discussing celebrity gossip," Dante said. "It was objectively insignificant."

"See?" Lucien slipped an arm around Lilian's shoulders and gently turned her toward Dante as if presenting evidence in court. "This is what we're working with. Mr. Objectively Insignificant trying to charm small town neighbors."

Lilian couldn't stop the laugh that escaped her. The image of Dante standing on her mother's porch, attempting to navigate the social dynamics of her hometown with everyone, was almost too much.
