Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Deep in the vortex mountains, hidden away in an enclosed cave was the last dragon of both the void and chaos lineage. The young dragonette wandered her planet for 100 years. She was the princess, the youngest one in fact. She grew up free and whimsical, doing whatever she pleased without a care for consequences.

It wasn't until she created a new spell that could rip time and space between realms. Unfortunately, the spell backfires, sending her into a deep slumber. The loss of the youngest and strongest royal heir created a disharmony among the newly formed clan.

For a millia the void and chaos dragons were at war, constantly fighting. It wasn't until the current king was mated to the then eldest princess of the void clan. It was this union that solidified the two clans, creating geniuses within the royal family. It was also the youngest daughter, Astraea, who was the strongest that was proclaimed crown princess.

When she disappeared the different clans began a civil war that lasted a thousand years. It was this war that destroyed their land. After many years the remaining survivors either died or slipped through the veil to seek refuge on another planet. Whether they survived that trip, no one knows.

2 thousand years later, Astraea stirred from her slumber. She was still in the same posture for 2 thousand years. She slowly moved her stiff arms and legs, popping them back into their sockets, her furrow tails straightened out as they curled around her feet. As she stood her beautiful wings flapped and stretched out as she steady herself.

The cave that she slumber in was massive with numerous cavernous rooms; it was like a big labyrinth. She surveys her surroundings in silence, brows furrowing in distaste. The cave looked the exact same way before she slumbered. She couldn't tell how long she had been asleep.

And…. Why do I feel empty?

A strange dread enveloped her like a tidal wave..

She could easily feel that her connection to her two clans had been severed. She couldn't contact her mother or her father. Neither her two elder brothers or her six elder sisters could be contacted. This in itself made her extremely anxious.

Why couldn't she find anyone?

An unsettlement grew within her with every breath taken. The familial link that had always been there, no longer existed.

No, she had to see what had happened to her family. Astraea's gigantic body moved with a swiftness that didn't correlate with her massive body. She curled in her wings as she maneuvered around the many narrow caverns that seemed more like a maze than a labyrinthine.

No sooner had she approached the cave's entrance, did she unfurl her large wings and take off into the sky. Her wings crossed the land and the purple ocean. The journey that took her years on foot to get there, only took a matter of hours of hours.

The night was long while the three moons dimmed hardly lightened the way home. One was a dull orange, a desolate gray and a dreary green. Each color grew darker and darker as if the once vibrant colors could no longer exist

The next day, when the sun had just peeked over the horizon.-Astraea finally made it 'home'.

Or rather the place that should have been home. What she saw wasn't a home but a ruin. Her home was in ruins; the castle that once stood proudly on top of a mighty mountain was now full of holes. It looked like someone had bombed the place in many directions.

The entire mountain was overrun with trees and wildlife, they were in abundance. The usual wildlife of magical beasts were nowhere to be seen. Somehow they had regressed back to their predecessors. The once mighty Saber thunder tiger or the rapid wind bunny had become regular tigers and bunnies without a hint of spiritual power.

Astraea could feel the spiritual power gradually diminishing; even father sun and mother moons started to dim over the years. The lineage of the chaos and void dragons were the original pillars of this world. They balanced this world and its realm, creating the ultimate harmony.

Astraea landed a few feet away from the mountain, she scanned around for any sign of dragon life but there was none. The little wildlife scattered into the forest as if they were never there.

The familiar scent of the dragons had long been gone. This was completely distressful. Astraea silently walked up the mountain; one step at a time. Memories of the past flashed past her eyes at every turn. The familiar guards were no longer standing sentry. The familiar maids and butlers who would usually be running back and forth had disappeared without a trace.

She walked through the empty corridors; the walls were stripped bare of all its glory. The paintings of her heritage had been destroyed. The royal tapestry had been looted and torn, trampled underfoot.

She went through every room, looking for any of the remments of the life she used to have. But, there was nothing; everything was bare, not even a single rat to scurry around and scavenge.

"Mother…. Father…

"My siblings, what has happened to you?" Astraea screamed into the air, tears streaming down her face in tidal waves.

The dark energy inside of her rampage as the elements around her became distorted. Her brilliant emerald eyes turned a ominous black as the wind picked up, swirling around her. She unlocked the first stage to her time manipulation, rewinding time to the day the castle became ruined.

Swoosh!

Astraea watched the surroundings around her repair itself, the spirits of the dead formed again, planting themselves in the place they last died.

The time rewinds back to 1376 years ago, just over 600 years after she disappeared. She watched the battle that happened in-house. She watched as the elders of both clans conspired to kill her royal family, attempting to take the throne for themselves.

Elder Sadie of the Chaos clan beheaded her two eldest brothers. She watched as their blood sprayed over the elders and the walls. She watched their body drop, lifeless, despair in their eyes was something that was not unique but the reluctance to die settled deep within their core.

It broke Astraea's world to see her dignified eldest brother and her playful and charismatic second brother without breath. It shattered her spirit to see her mother and eldest sister protect 3rd and 4th sister but in the end. They all died a gruesome death one by one.

But where was her father?

While his wife was being killed , where was he?

While his sons were graciously killed without mercy.

Where was he?

While his daughters were being slaughtered.

Where was he?

Where was the 5th and 6th sister?

With furled brows she rewinded the time more, desperately looking for her two other sisters. She walked through the corridors towards their rooms as she did so. It should be faster if she looked from there.

At the edge of the corridor to their rooms, she finally saw them being taken away by elder Horus of the void clan. They quickly entered a void with 5th and 6th sister struggling with all their might.

She could only tell that they landed on a very densely green planet but it looked like it had trees. The portal flashed so quickly that Astraea barely caught a glimpse.

She kept walking, still not finding her father. This was very strange; father was never that far away from Mother.

What exactly happened to him?

She walked to her parents bedchamber and then rewind the time again. The time was so slow, it wasn't until 6 years after her disappearance did she finally see her father. He was tall and strong, his scales glistened under the magical crystals that they used as lights. She watched as her mother and father went into a mating ritual. They were in a translucent state as they combined as one.

They were having a child?

That was the only way dragons could procreate. In order to have a child, they would have to go through at mating ritual called the Optomium. In Which they not only join bodies but also souls.

Of Course, that only counts if the couple is of dragon lineage no matter the gender. Many don't realize that dragons were born with both genders and it's only after they become young adults( after 500 years old) that they choose a gender, if they wanted.

For those who mated with non dragons, they could procreate the way that specific species procreates. Those offspring's would only be half breeds with mostly like the dragon being the dominant side.

However if the couples are of the same sex and of different species, then the procreation is different. It's the dragon who can choose to split either their eggs or Sp3rm, dividing them in a ritual called the mosaic.

In which the dragon would take the fluids of their partner and implant such fluid in either themselves, their partner or both. Instantly making a perfectly viable baby without flaws. The child would grow with no difference as any other normal child. The process was lengthy and special in its own right.
