Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Azure Dragon Sect Information Hall (2)

After thinking through a few scenarios as to how he could achieve this goal, a single conclusion suddenly went through his head:

Let's just do it the old-fashioned way and try to butter her up with flowery words.

Huang Shi then tried to give a polite smile as he spoke with a bitter tone.

"Uhh, this pretty young miss, can I get an explanation as to how the information hall works? This is actually my first time here, if you can believe it!"

Hearing these words coming from Huang Shi, the girl named Qiao Fenyi suddenly looked up.

Her face was still marred with irritation, and yet the moment she saw who it was, she suddenly froze as her expression turned into one of fear.

"So i-it was young master Huang Shi? How can I help you? No wait—I mean, of course I can help you! You asked how the information hall works, right? I can definitely help you!"

When Huang Shi saw how Qiao Fenyi basically acted like a deer in headlights in front of him, he inwardly shook his head as he suddenly realized how hard it would be to achieve his goals.

This is gonna be a bit difficult.

Despite this, Huang Shi didn't feel discouraged at all. In fact, he was even more motivated to find a way to win her over.

If he couldn't even win the heart of some random girl in the Azure Dragon Sect, how would he even be worthy of the title of playboy in his past life?

"Alright, Junior Sister Fenyi, you don't have to be so nervous; it's not like I'm gonna eat you up! At least, unless that's something you actually want to happen, of course..."

Huang Shi gave a cheeky smile as he stared directly into Qiao Fenyi's eyes. Despite his very provocative words, his eyes didn't have any sort of lustful thoughts in them at all.

Qiao Fenyi, on the other hand, slowly felt her nervousness start to dissipate as she started to realize that—despite the rumors of Huang Shi being known to be a useless waste and being terribly insufferable—the person in front of her didn't seem to be like that at all.

In fact, he actually seems a bit charming...

When Qiao Fenyi realized her thoughts had gone in this direction, she suddenly started to blush like a red apple.

She quickly forced these thoughts out of her head, as she knew that she and the young master of the Azure Dragon Sect were from entirely different worlds.

Huang Shi, on the other hand, was able to quickly recognize the thoughts that ran through this girl's pretty little head as he gave another smile filled with mischief.

"Alright, Junior Sister Fenyi! Since I'm the young master of the Azure Dragon Sect, I still have some little bit of authority, no? Why don't you help me learn the ins and outs of the information hall while I'm still here? I promise it will be worth your time!"

Hearing the words coming from Huang Shi's mouth filled the girl with curiosity, as she suddenly asked with a bit of trepidation, "What is it that young master Huang Shi will give me as a reward?"

When Huang Shi heard these words, his eyes quickly shone as a single thought ran through his head: Got her!

Huang Shi then raised his palm, opening it in front of her and showing her what was inside. What was in it gave Qiao Fenyi a fright as her expression changed into one of longing.

In it were two Qi Nurturing Pills that would be very helpful for her current cultivation, as she had actually been stuck at a bottleneck for quite some time now with her current strength being at the 8th level of the Elementary Profound Realm.

"If you accompany me for the day, I'll give you these two Qi Nurturing Pills as a reward. What do you say, Junior Sister Fenyi? Will you help me out?"

After thinking for a couple more seconds, her eyes finally shone with a bit of resolve as she nodded her head and spoke.

"Alright, Young Master Huang Shi, you drive a hard bargain. Let me talk to one of the other librarians and see if I can arrange something with them to allow me to take the day off today. I'll be back in a couple of minutes."

After saying these words, she quickly left the reception desk and entered through the door right behind her, leaving him to his own devices for a while.

Huang Shi, having nothing to do, opted to look around the area to find something interesting while he waited.

The world didn't disappoint; just a couple of minutes after Qiao Fenyi left the reception desk, a person suddenly appeared at the entrance of the information hall.

It was a man wearing an azure dragon robe with black and gold embellishments, making it look more sophisticated than the average ones worn by common disciples of the sect.

In fact, if Huang Shi wasn't wearing his Cinderveil robes, these are the kinds of clothes that he would be wearing.

The man had a soft and delicate appearance, looking like he couldn't hurt a fly, and yet Huang Shi knew that this was nothing more than a façade.

From his memories, this person was just as bad as his elder brother Huang Long, as he constantly tried to push the blame for his misconducts toward himself—and the reason for that was because this guy was a massive pervert.

Huang Yi, eh... from what I remember, this guy has been pursuing Qiao Fenyi for quite a while now, but she's always rejected his advances... this is gonna be interesting.

On the other hand, the moment Huang Yi saw him, his expression suddenly stiffened for a bit before quickly turning back to normal.

And yet, if you looked closely, deep inside of his eyes was a sense of wariness that had previously not been there before.
