Chapter 123 - Chapter 123: A Sudden Change

What should have happened next was that he and Bai Xinyue would speak sweet nothings to each other deep into the night, holding hands until they both fell asleep, waking up in the morning and having one last breakfast together before hugging each other for a final farewell.

Unfortunately, that is not what happened here, as after around an hour of them laughing and whispering with each other, once again a strange silence enveloped the both of them—not because things became awkward, but because they suddenly noticed the presence of a woman in the room.

It was a woman wearing a silver dress that sparkled like moonlight; she had silver hair that reached all the way down her waist and piercing silver eyes that seemed to see right through the depths of a person. Her skin was milky white, unblemished by the passing of time, and her figure... in simple terms, was disgustingly beautiful.

Her breasts were large and seemed to almost spill out of her dress, and because of how it was designed, it showed an ample amount of cleavage; a bit of her thighs, which were slightly exposed, were thick and simultaneously soft, revealing a bit of skin.

Her body was a perfect hourglass shape, looking like it was sculpted by the heavens themselves, while her rear, despite not being visible to him, seemed to be just as well-endowed as the rest of her body, hidden beneath her dress.

All in all, even comparing her to his Mei'er and Xinyue out of all the women he had met thus far, in terms of pure appearance, she was the most beautiful.

Of course, considering the fact that both Li Mei and Bai Xinyue were still technically considered mortals because neither of them had reached the Sky Profound Realm, the fact that they could even be put in the same conversation as this woman spoke volumes to the level of beauty they would achieve once their cultivation reached the same heights.

Especially his Xinyue; even though there was a gap between her and this woman's appearance, quite frankly, the gap was not that big. The difference primarily lay in their demeanor and the fact that Xinyue was still quite young and had not undergone the baptism of achieving a higher cultivation level.

All of this, however, did not change the fact that what he felt at this exact moment was not infatuation, but a profound sense of...

Fear.

Fuck, I'm so screwed. Who is this damn woman? Why the fuck am I trembling so bad? It's like I'm looking at a fucking typhoon barreling straight towards my house or a tsunami about to swallow my lands; it's like I'm looking at a damn force of nature.

Clearly, his sense of fear was justified, as just as he felt his fear reach the apex—his heart beating out of his chest and his entire body filling with cold sweat—the system once again came out with a timely but totally unnecessary warning.

[WARNING!! THE HOST IS IN THE PRESENCE OF AN EXTREMELY POWERFUL ENTITY. IT IS ADVISED THAT THE HOST FIND A WAY TO IMMEDIATELY EXTRACT HIMSELF FROM THE SITUATION AND RUN AWAY AS FAR AS HE CAN GO! THIS IS A LIFE-AND-DEATH SITUATION.]

Despite all of the fears he felt and the warning he heard from the system, he grit his teeth and forced himself to stand up from the bed, shielding Xinyue from the unknown woman's sight and pushing her away with his spiritual energy.

WHOOSH!

Once he made sure that Xinyue was already outside of the house and had arrived some distance away from them, he instantly went into battle mode as his golden eyes shone with a terrifying light.

Golden sunfyre flames and crimson calamity lightning surrounded his body, bringing a sense of stability to his raging emotions; his primordial sunfyre halo shone with a shining golden light behind him, making him look less like a human and more like a god.

His cultivation, which was at the 3rd level of the Nascent Profound Realm, instantly rose to the peak of the third level before breaking through that boundary and reaching the 4th level.

Finally, he raised his right hand into the air as a golden sea of flames erupted for tens of meters all around him, before expanding to reach an area of around a hundred meters. Of course, the flames couldn't even touch the woman, as there seemed to be some sort of distortion around her that prevented the fire from reaching her.

The woman, who had thus far looked at him with only icy indifference and murderous intent, suddenly paused as she felt something strange from the golden flames and the crimson lightning that surrounded him. As she stared at him, her silver eyes slightly squinted.

The power of natural laws?! How is that possible! Could it be—

Before she could even finish her thought, something else happened that caught her with even more surprise. The golden sea of flames, which seemed to have already been stretched to its absolute limits, suddenly started to race toward his palm, forming into the shape of a circular sphere.

This sphere then started to rotate in place as invisible runes appeared all around its surface before being hidden by the golden flames as the sun started to stabilize and stopped its rotation.

Finally, the golden sun, which seemed to be made of concentrated liquid fire, started to glow with a terrifying golden light. The light was so potent that it instantly blanketed the entire area—the trees, the mountains, the grass, the rocks, even the sky turned a shade of gold. In this part of the Greenwood Forest, the night suddenly parted to give rise to the morning sun.

The golden sun, which had consumed all of the spiritual energy he had just accumulated from the healing of his injuries and even took a bit of his lifespan, was all pushed into its creation, making it even larger and more powerful than the final attack he used against Huang Bai.

In fact, this golden sun was so powerful it had already reached the threshold of the True Profound Realm! This just goes to show how much of a threat this woman posed against him that he would be willing to go so far.
