Chapter 20 - Sorcerer Spider-Man

Earth-1610.

On a dark and windy night, outside a manor in the suburbs of New York, three figures were sneaking around.

"It's been confirmed. Miles and Peter B. Parker will be transferred here tonight."

The speaker was clad in a black battle suit with a black cape.

It was Spider-Man Noir.

Spider-Man Noir whispered instructions to his two companions, "We'll lie in wait here and rescue them when the opportunity arises."

"Could this be a trap?" Spider-Ham, a small pig-like figure, asked.

"Even if it's a trap, we have to try." Spider-Man Noir explained.

"In this Universe, our bodies are becoming weaker and weaker. Only Peni's combat power is relatively intact, we need new members to join us."

"Also, Kingpin will definitely be guarding the Super Collider and won't appear here. This is our chance."

Because several Universes were connected, their cells were decaying. As time passes, their bodies will become weaker and weaker.

Just then, Peni reminded the two, "They're here. Remember, our goal is to rescue them, not to get into a prolonged fight."

The vehicle stopped, and Peter B. Parker and Miles were carried out. It seemed they had both been injected with anesthetics.

Spider-Man Noir merged into the shadow, silently approaching.

Suddenly, he burst out, knocking down the enemies with a few punches and kicks.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

The manor's lights came on, and several teams of fully armed gang thugs swarmed out.

There was indeed an ambush!

But...

Whoosh!

A thick web shot from a distance, sticking to Spider-Man Noir's wrist.

Spider-Man Noir quickly rotated his wrist a few times to reinforce it.

Miles in his left hand, Peter B. Parker in his right.

Peni, on the other side, activated the SP//dr suit, ready to pull the web and take the three away.

"Trying to leave? It's not that easy." Olivia Octavius appeared, severing the web with her tentacles.

"Spider-Man, tonight is your doom."

The thugs quickly surrounded Spider-Man Noir.

Inside the encirclement, Spider-Man Noir was not flustered.

I still have a backup plan!

A big battle was about to erupt.

Just then, the light flames beneath Spider-Man Noir's feet dispersed. The next instant, he vanished from his original spot.

What's going on?

My backup plan wasn't this!

Inside an ordinary room in an ordinary unfinished building.

Numerous Spider-Men were standing or lying down..

"Can someone explain what's happening?" Lucas was the first to ask.

Because Gwen unexpectedly ended up in Earth-404, the original plot was already in who-knows-what state of collapse.

Lucas needed to understand the situation.

Peter B. Parker began to explain, "Because of Kingpin's Super Collider, the Universes of several Spider-Men have been connected. To undo the connection, the collider has to be destroyed."

"But the USB drive to destroy the collider was damaged by Miles. I and Miles could only infiltrate Kingpin's company to copy the data and were caught during their retreat."

Spider-Man Noir added, "After learning about Kingpin's plan in this world, I tried to stop him. But I, Peni and Spider-Ham weren't strong enough, so we planned to rescue the other two Spider-Men first."

"What about you? Who are you two?" Spider-Man Noir asked.

Through his spider-sense, he could sense that Gwen was also a Spider-Man.

But why did she appear so late? Was there any other special information?

"Gwen Stacy, Ghost-Spider."

"Gwen?" Peter B. Parker exclaimed.

But then his expression dimmed, and he said nothing more.

The Gwen in front of him was clearly not the Gwen from his Universe.

"Lucas, Sorcer Spider-Man." Lucas introduced himself earnestly.

It was still the same saying.

When you're out and about, your identity is what you make it.

Inside the room, the six Spider-Men looked at Lucas in unison.

Didn't he know that Spider-Men have spider-sense and could recognise each other?

"What, you don't believe me?"

Lucas secretly activated a spider totem he had picked up when arriving in this Universe. It came from Peter Parker, the Spider-Man of 1610 Universe, who had died at Kingpin's hand.

His panel was still upgrading, and he hadn't absorbed this power.

As the spider totem was activated—

"Hmm?"

The others' gazes towards Lucas became even stranger.

Why did he suddenly have spider-sense?

Could he really be Sorcerer Spider-Man?

Lucas explained, "I'm a sorcerer, it's perfectly reasonable for me to know how to hide the power of my spider totem, isn't it?"

"It's very reasonable." Spider-Ham nodded.

In his Universe, there were all sorts of extraordinary powers. He was well-traveled and knowledgeable, unlike the Spider-Men from other Universes, who were ignorant.

"Alright, I already know what's going on. Shall we speedrun this?"

After joking, Lucas became serious.

"Speedrun?" x6

"First, we need to go to Kingpin's office and copy the data."

As he spoke, Lucas's mind moved, opening a portal to Kingpin's office.

Spider-Man Noir, Peni, and Peter Porker's expressions shifted.

They had just been teleported away by this thing.

"Why are you all standing around? Go copy the data."

"Oh."

Peter B. Parker, realizing belatedly, reacted.

"I figured it out later. We just need to repair the USB drive, there's no need to copy a new set of data. Besides, Kingpin's computer has a lot of files, and we don't know which one it is."

Lucas asked, "Then where's the USB drive?"

"It was taken." Peter B. Parker gave an awkward smile.

"I've already copied the data." Peni said.

"Very good, as expected of a high-tech Spider-Man." Lucas nodded in satisfaction.

"Thank you for the compliment, Sorcerer Spider-Man." Peni returned a smile.

"Next, we'll go to the Kingpin Tower to destroy the collider."

The portal opened again.

"Be careful, Kingpin is very strong." Spider-Man Noir reminded him.

"Dr. Octopus is also not to be underestimated." Peter B. Parker added.

Lucas smiled slightly. "People are different from each other. Spider-Men are the same."

Stepping out of the portal, they saw that Kingpin had already set a trap here.

But...

Gang thugs, mercenaries?

"Heh." Lucas chuckled softly.

The next second, mental power surged. Instantly, the clouds in the sky were torn apart, and moonlight poured down.

Under the moonlight, the six Spider-Men saw clearly.

One after another, fully armed mercenaries lost consciousness and fell.

"Sorcerer Spider-Man is so powerful."

Lucas murmured softly, speaking the thoughts of everyone.

There were still a few villains holding strong. Lucas had no interest in finding out who they were.

Except for Prowler.

He was Miles' uncle, and accidentally killing him would be hard to explain.

He flicked his fingertips, and invisible energy condensed into tangible bullets, shooting out. Passing through tiny portals, they instantly achieved precise headshots.

"Now, for the rest, who's going to handle it? You can't just slack off and let me do everything alone, right?"

The several Spider-Men looked at each other.

The problem that had plagued them for half a month was solved just like that?

Sorcerer Spider-Man is terrifyingly powerful.

[Note: The time isn't wrong. It will be explained later why half a month passed in Earth-1610, while about twenty days passed in Earth-404.]
