Chapter 11 - A Surprising Ally

Alejandro's POV

The crowd continued to grow while phones raised and flashes popped like gunfire. The murmurs continued to swell into a low roar. I stood just outside the scrum, arms folded, watching the beautiful disaster unfold like a movie I'd paid to direct.

Carlos had her pinned against his chest now, one arm locked around her waist like she was a possession he was afraid would slip away.

He looked confused and scared, his jaw was so tight I could see the muscle jump from ten feet away.

Selene looked small against him,her knees were scraped, tears cutting tracks through her makeup.

But even in her weakness,she still fought and shoved at his chest. "Let go."

When he didn't,that was when I stepped forward.

I walked gently towards them,there was no need to rush. Every camera was already on me the second I moved.

I raised my voice just enough to carry over the chaos without making it obvious and while portraying the image of the perfect concerned brother.
