Chapter 11 - No One Can Cover the Sky with One Hand Forever

Qianyu casually allocated all thirty merit points he had just obtained into his ocular power.

Attributes: Fire, Lightning, Yin, Yang

Chakra: 650

Abilities:

Three-Tomoe Sharingan (373 / 1000)Fire Release · Great Fireball Technique (Complete – 100 / 100)Fire Release · Dragon Flame Technique (Complete – 100 / 100)Uchiha Flow Swordsmanship (Advanced – 88 / 100)...

Merit Points: 0

At the same time, another system prompt sounded in his mind.

Ding!

[Congratulations! The host's accumulated merit points have exceeded 100!]

[Congratulations! The host has unlocked a new ability—Lightning Release Ninjutsu!]

[Currently unlocked: Lightning Release · False Darkness (Beginner – 50 / 100)!]

Qianyu's heart stirred slightly.

"Oh? So once merit points accumulate to a certain amount, new abilities unlock directly?"

"Lightning Release… it is one of my chakra affinities. I just never trained it before."

"Lightning Release · False Darkness… if I remember correctly…"

In the original work, this was a terrifying Lightning Release technique used by an S-rank missing-nin of the Akatsuki.

Its power was overwhelming.

It had even forced Hatake Kakashi to use two S-rank techniques at once—Raikiri combined with Double Lightning Shock—just to barely counter it.

With such a powerful Lightning Release technique in hand, Qianyu would be even more effective in future law-enforcement missions.

A rare smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

Just then—

Two figures came rushing down the patrol road ahead.

Leading them was the Uchiha clan head—

Uchiha Fugaku.

The moment he saw Qianyu, Fugaku's expression changed.

"Qianyu—how did it go?"

"And Sarutobi Hiruzen, he—"

Qianyu stopped walking and calmly shook his head.

"It's fine."

Behind him, Uchiha Yamabuki hurriedly explained the entire sequence of events.

After listening, Fugaku let out a breath of relief—but at the same time, couldn't help sighing deeply.

"Sarutobi Hiruzen… that old fox really is formidable."

Uchiha Aoki nodded repeatedly.

"He saw exactly where public sentiment lay. His performance was flawless."

"All the villagers and ninja ended up grateful to him instead—completely forgetting that the murderer of an innocent civilian was executed by Captain Qianyu…"

Yamabuki snorted coldly.

"Truly a shameless old schemer."

Fugaku sighed again.

"If he weren't like this, how could he have sat so securely in the Hokage's seat for decades?"

"When it comes to manipulating people's hearts—no one is his match."

Yamabuki hesitated, then cautiously asked,

"Clan Head… last time, when Captain Qianyu acted against civilians, you were furious."

"But this time, he directly killed a Sarutobi clansman—Hokage-sama's nephew."

"Why are you so calm instead?"

Fugaku gave a bitter smile.

"What's the point of blaming him?"

"And after thinking carefully about what Qianyu said last time… he wasn't entirely wrong."

"No matter what we do, we can't change the Konoha high command's attitude toward the Uchiha."

"In that case—rather than holding back, we might as well act."

"Qianyu… you did very well."

"It's just a pity that so much of the credit was taken by Sarutobi Hiruzen."

Qianyu replied flatly,

"I don't care about that."

Fugaku shot him a sharp look.

"Don't say nonsense."

"You may do things without seeking reward—but we don't give our achievements to our enemies."

Aoki and Yamabuki nodded emphatically.

"Clan Head is right!"

Qianyu said calmly,

"No one can cover the sky with one hand forever."

"Good and evil. Black and white."

"One day—they will all be seen clearly."

Fugaku stared at him in silence for a long time.

Finally, he shook his head and sighed.

"You act in such extreme ways… yet sometimes you're almost naïve."

Qianyu replied evenly,

"I'm an optimist."

"I believe that as long as I keep killing…"

"One day, I'll kill all the evil in this world."

Fugaku took a deep breath.

"Maybe… maybe."

Hokage's Office

Sarutobi Hiruzen was in a furious rage.

Bang!

His fist smashed down hard, shaking the entire desk. Documents scattered everywhere.

Sarutobi Hiyū trembled violently.

"Good… very good…"

"You father and son are truly something else."

"I made you clan head—and this is how you repay me?!"

Hiyū hurriedly dropped to his knees.

"Hokage-sama! I—I couldn't just watch Jirō die!"

Hiruzen's fury surged sky-high.

"Idiot! Do you think I would have let him die?!"

"Did I ever say you couldn't save him?!"

"But what did you do?"

"In broad daylight, with ninja and civilians watching, you openly abused the law to protect your son!"

"Where did you put the Sarutobi clan's face?!"

"Where did you put my face?!"

Only then did Hiyū understand.

Hiruzen wasn't angry because he protected his son—

He was furious because Hiyū had done it publicly, nearly destroying his reputation and authority.

Resentment rose uncontrollably in Hiyū's heart.

Is your reputation really more important than my son's life?!

But he didn't dare say it aloud.

Hiruzen saw through him completely.

"You're unconvinced, aren't you?"

"You think I value my reputation more than your son's life?"

Hiyū remained silent.

"Idiot!"

"Things must be done—but how they're done is what matters!"

"No wonder removing you as clan head was the correct decision."

Hiyū was completely numb.

"…It doesn't matter anymore."

"I couldn't even protect my own son. What right do I have to be clan head?"

He laughed hollowly and stumbled out like a walking corpse.

Hiruzen's anger had nowhere left to vent.

An ANBU ninja said quietly,

"Hokage-sama… he just lost his son. And his position."

"All that's left in his heart… may be hatred toward Uchiha Qianyu."

"If this continues, he might do something reckless."

Hiruzen nodded.

"Have people watch him."

"Yes, Hokage-sama."

As the ANBU left, another figure appeared at the door.

"Hm? Shisui?"

Hiruzen suppressed his anger and forced a gentle expression.

Shisui knelt.

"My apologies, Hokage-sama. You asked me to advise Uchiha Qianyu, but that man…"

"Oil and salt won't go in, right?"

Hiruzen forced a smile.

"That's just the kind of man he is."

"Don't worry about it. I was just speaking casually."

"But Shisui…"

He stared hard into Shisui's eyes.

"You didn't end up being persuaded by him instead… did you?"

A cold glint flashed in Hiruzen's gaze.
