Chapter 25 - UNLOCKING GATE 3

MALEDICTION (18)

you never heard of the Walten family? Have all of you people been living under a rock? But honestly I suppose it would be more weird if you had heard of them. Unlike the Pumpkin patch children, this story is actually real. The Walten family was a family with many members, authorities say ranging from 1 to 100 members. They were a family of serial killers who often dressed up in cute outfits like bunny costumes or puppies.

The Walten case is a tricky one to explain as none of them had actually been caught, and it was a case that had been troubling many detectives over the course of the last decade. With this in mind, there was a bounty on their head a waping one million Euros for any one of them.

Catherine read all of this on the first page. But out of everything she read, the only thing that gave her goosebumps was the fact that she knew how to read at all.

'But I shouldn't be surprised, I am a natural when it comes to everything. Naturally.' She praised herself before coming to a reasonable conclusion.

'So these guys are serial killers… but what is that? Do they like… kill wheat or peas?'

"Your still there?" The eldest had continued to ramble on for sometime before assuming the ghost had left, only to still sense its presence.

"This is a first, I never thought one of your kind would care to listen to my stories. Especially since you have already ascended beyond the mortal realm, things to do with mortals shouldn't concern you in the least."

Catherine peeked at him from the wooden platform above. Honestly she kind of gave up listening when he started mumbling nonsense about the bible. She did not care for such, it made no sense to care about something one did not see or feel. God himself let a lot of bad things happen to children in her village, her included, so why should she give a shit about him, her or whatever?

The only power she trusts is the one she's seen help people. 'This won't help me find Gil.'

 A waste of time.

'Guess I'll just have to take my chances with the corridors.' She floated down onto the ground and fazed through the wall, leaving the eldest in his room all alone.

"You've left already? I suppose that's my que to sleep." He shut his eyes and within minutes had drifted off into the world of dreams.

MEANWHILE!

Gil took calm breaths, in and out as he tried to unleash his inner Chi.

'Chi is a life force everything has, from the biggest tree to the smallest ant. Chi is something we all posses.'

When it comes to the innate understanding of chi, one must understand Chakra points. In the human body there are 365 of them. But out of these only 8 are actually important.

THE EIGHT GATES

Opening all of these inner gates results in free chi flow through the body, and that will allow for the Chi to mix with fragments creating fragment energy which you can then use to perform sorcery.

Naturally, in all human beings, 2 of the eight gates are opened. The first gate leads to the brain, the other leads to the heart. With these two opened, it will now take some mental fortitude to open all the other six gates. With time and practice all of them would be opened.

However, Gil wasn't looking to open all of them today, in fact there was only one that he wanted to open.

'In my heightened state (When I was using purple lightning) It felt as though all my six senses were on fire. I could smell better, I could feel everything I could even taste… the air as weird as that sounds.'

At that moment in time, all of his 8 chakra points had been opened simultaneously by the woman with black hair.

"When they are forcefully opened all at once, its hard to maintain them like that." Blake explained, "Without you opening them one by one through training they will automatically close. Which is why we need to work hard and reopen them one by one."

On paper opening them sounds easy, but to realize that monks take years if not decades to completely open and master these gates can really discourage a person, but luckily for Gil he didn't have this realization in fact he had no idea what monks even were. This ignorance brought forth confidence which allowed him to do the impossible.

He raised his fingers and brought them close together.

PZZZ!

And electric current surged from his left index finger to his right, Gil noted that it wasn't purple but rather blue and its output wasn't that high.

"Ok…" He was breathing heavily, "Time to move into my eyes."

He closed his eyes and began trying to redirect his chi and therefore fragment energy towards his eyes using the first and second gates.

He was visibly struggling, as he should be for this was no mere task, he'd have to keep his gates open long enough to pass the sufficient threshold before they remain permanently open. But obviously Gil had no plans to quit even if he had to fry his brain in the process (Which is something that can happen actually)

Soon the crackling of electricity disappeared and there was only one thing left to do, and that was redirect all the energy he had put into creating that current into his eyes.

GATE 3 OPEN!

And true to his beliefs when he opened his eyes he could see everything there was to be seen. But sadly for him, the prestige house wasn't as prestige as he had made it out to be.

Now on the floor was rotting flesh and corpses of what seemed to be children. Most of which were just spread out across the room.

 "Ew."

He was disgusted. 'Why are there so many dead children in this room? Could it be that whoever those children are has to do with why there's a bunch of dead children on the floor?'

He had a ton of questions, but if any of them were to be answered first he'd have to confront the owners. But before he could even do that, there was only one priority right now.

 'Find 'him' at any cost.'

He understood that the more he just sat down the more the people of his village would not only suffer but also die by the hands of whatever those things were, call them demons or monsters.

Jumping off the bed he went to the door and tugged at the knob.

CLINK!

It refused to open, he tried again.

CLINK!

Now he was just pulling with all he had. The knob didn't like this and thus proceeded to detach itself from the door making Gil land on his butt, door knob in hand.

"Goddamn it!" Cursed the knob. "What is it with you people and not letting me rest in piece, it's the third time this week."

Gil looked around trying to figure out where that' sound was coming from.

 "Down here deepshit!"

Gil looked at the palm of his hand, "The hell's the matter with you, don't you know how to open a door?"

"Um… sorry…sir?" Gil immediately tried to apologize.

"Uh…uh…" The knob mimicked Gil's noises, "Dummy, you're suppose to push, not pull."

 OH!

"I bet you feel like a real idiot."

"C'mon knob, at the very least give the poor child a break, he just got here."

Gil creaked his neck as he searched for this new noise.

"I'm up here sweetheart." His eyes darted up to the picture of a woman in a long dress, "Don't mind him, he's very cranky, especially on days like this."

Gil was extremely baffled but the shock ended pretty quickly considering he's seen demons, his childhood friend's a ghost and the woman who gave him sorcery is probably a god.

"No, its my fault. Sorry Mr.Knob." He placed the knob back on the door and it screwed back into place.

"I suppose you ain't bad at all kid, for that I'll cut you some slack and give you a friendly word of advice. Don't leave this room 'till exactly three in the morning."

 "Three? Why though."

"You don't know?" The woman in the painting spoke, "If you do, you won't make it out alive."

"Linda, you gotta be more franc with the kid, otherwise you'll end up making him anxious." Knob lectured.

"Oh. What I mean is, the three Walten children are currently monitoring your room from the shadows. If you try to leave they will kill you."

"Walt…Walten? What's that about, I've never heard of them." Gil paid close attention.

"True, if ya did, ya wouldn't be here, in fact ya wouldn't even have come into the graveyard." Knob gave a chuckle, "Hey old timer why don't you educate our little guest here."

There was no movement for a time, but eventually the bed moved.

"Man, why do I have to?" Bed asked.

"Coz, you're the oldest one here." Linda responded.

"Uh… fine, I'll tell you the story of this house." The way bed spoke was slow, his voice was deep and echoed throughout the entire room, he spoke each word individually, making sure to pronounce each letter in the word.

"Buckle up its going to be a long ride…"

AYE! AYE!
