Chapter 4 - Dark Moon Worshiper's Plan for Total Darkness

As much as I enjoyed watching my two monster children attack the poor, defenseless, monster hunter, I knew I had to help get them away from Mr. Hunter. They were growling and howling and clawing at Mr. Hunter's round, pudgy face.

Russell pointed and saw the monster hunter's silver shotgun had slipped from Mr. Hunter's grasp on the grass of our front lawn. He started to reach down and grab the silver shotgun away from our two monster kids, attacking the helpless monster hunter on the ground.

Just as I saw Mr. Hunter try to grab hold of the shotgun, I gasped and watched as Mark, who was nearest beside his gun on the ground, kicked it out of his reach, with his big, hairy, clawed foot.

Mark and Valentino started rolling Mr. Hunter over each other on the ground, while they continued to scratch and bite at Mr. Hunter's neck and face. They shredded his brown uniform and clawed at his hairy chest.

Kicking the gun farther away from Mr. Hunter's reach, it landed beside Russell's feet. Bending down to pick it up, Russell picked up the silver shotgun. Taking the gun in his hand, he pointed it high in the air. And fired a warning shot into the dark, cloudy night sky.

Jumping with fright, the two werewolves quickly got off Russell on the ground. We watched them sprint on their hands and feet as they hurried into the foggy, darkness, in our little enchanted neighborhood.

Russell loaded the shotgun in hand, but I forced Russell not to shoot our children. Groaning, we turned to see the monster hunter, tossing his head back and forth aside on the ground in our front yard. Trying to gain consciousness, Russell and I hurried to help Mr. Hunter sit up.

"Mr. Hunter!" I said, breathtakingly. "They got away! But you know how dogs always find their way back home again? We got to take you to the hospital," I explained, looking at the deep, bloody-red scratches slashed across the monster hunter's bare chest. Where the two monster kids had attacked him.

"No, it's no use for me now, Emma," coughed Mr. Hunter. As he spat up some blood, I saw his teeth were bloody. "I will get my team at the Supernatural Animal Zoo to track down and find your two cursed monster children. And bring them back to your home after we've cured them of their monster ability," Mr. Hunter said, coughing up some more blood on the grass.

Russell and I looked at the monster hunter with false hope. "How can we trust you will cure them, back to normal kids, again?" Russell asked, suspiciously. I don't know if Mr. Hunter is someone we shouldn't put our beliefs in. But he was in such bad shape right now. I was willing to do anything to get the monster hunter back to normal health.

I carefully bend down to help Mr. Hunter, sit up. The glow of the full moon showed a path of light on Mr. Hunter. Russell and I gasped as we watched patches of dark animal fur start sprouting over Mr. Hunter's bare chest. We watched as Mr. Hunter's hands became hairy claws.

"Get away from me!" We gasped and turned to watch the monster hunter become a drooling, howling werewolf creature before our curious little eyes and stared at him, in disbelief! Taking his strong, hairy claws, Mr. Hunter punched Russell and myself into our chest. Making us fly in the air, and hit our backs against the apple tree in our front yard. Growling and drooling at his mouth, the werewolf hunter climbed onto his hairy feet.

Howling at the full moon in the starry night sky, the werewolf hunter quickly turned and ran down the foggy, empty street. And disappeared out of sight, turning away from us.

I groaned in pain, as I slowly sat up against the tree in our front yard. I turned to look at my unconscious husband, Russell, beside me. "Don't give up on me, yet, babes," I cried, trying to help my love gain consciousness.

He moaned but didn't wake up. I gasped and jumped with fright. As the sound of wild animals coming from the darkness of our nightly neighborhood. I knew I didn't get my husband and myself back inside the house. We'd be food for the monsters, lurking in the darkness of the town.

That's when the stormy clouds parted the night sky. I looked up in the sky as I watched moonlight poked through the dark clouds in the sky. And shone a golden light on me and my husband on the ground, where we were gathered at.

I gasped as I watched the glowing moonlight made dark, animal fur cover all of my husband's face and arms. I watched as Russell's eyes glowed yellow as they snapped open awake. He growled at me, seeing I was his enemy. Drooling like a hungry animal, Russell quickly sat up. Snatched me off the ground in his grasp. And he started to take us back inside our house. I couldn't do anything but scream.
