Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: The Inherently Evil Minato Namikaze

Early the next morning, as soon as Tsunade left home, Nawaki eagerly rushed over to Minato.

"Minato—"

Nawaki looked at him with pleading eyes, his expression utterly pitiful.

"I know, I know..."

Minato couldn't help but smile as he led Nawaki to the courtyard.

He clasped his hands together, and a log as thick as a washbasin sprouted from the ground before them.

Then, Minato extended his right hand toward Nawaki. "Watch closely!"

As he spoke, chaotic chakra began swirling rapidly in his palm, coalescing into a dense, concentrated sphere.

The dense chakra created a turbulent wind that tousled their hair.

"What powerful chakra!" Nawaki's eyes sparkled. "What's this technique called?"

"Rasengan!"

Minato turned and slammed the Rasengan into the log.

Boom!

The moment the Rasengan struck the log, it blasted a perfectly spherical hole through it.

"So incredible..." Nawaki stared blankly at the gaping hole in the log, lost in awe.

Then, his excitement surged. "Let's start training right away!"

"Just a moment," Minato said, raising his hand to signal Nawaki to calm down. "Before we begin, I need to assess your chakra control."

"Alright! What do I need to do?" Nawaki asked eagerly.

"Just like this..."

Minato clapped his hands together. The battered wooden post suddenly shot up dozens of meters, sprouting countless branches at its peak and transforming into a towering, straight tree.

He then stepped onto the trunk as if it were solid ground, striding effortlessly to the very top.

"Distribute your chakra evenly beneath your feet, balancing it with your body weight. This will allow you to adhere to walls and walk freely."

"Yoshi! Watch me!"

Nawaki backed up a few steps, then charged toward the trunk with enthusiasm.

Thud, thud, thud! He took three quick steps.

Before he could celebrate, his foot slipped, sending him crashing backward onto the ground.

Whoosh...

Minato had anticipated this mistake. He instantly appeared beneath Nawaki, catching him securely in a bridal carry.

"Damn it, I messed up!" Nawaki grumbled, his face burning with frustration, especially at being caught in such an undignified manner.

"Take your time. Don't rush," Minato advised calmly.

Minato smiled reassuringly. "I have a method that should help you master tree-climbing quickly."

"What is it?" Nawaki asked eagerly.

Minato pressed his hand against the trunk and extended a bowl-sized branch about two and a half meters above their heads.

"This height should be easy to reach," he said, leaping to embrace the branch and placing his feet on the trunk. "You can hold onto the branch and practice adjusting the chakra flow through your feet. Repeating this will be more effective than just blindly trying to climb up."

Nawaki burst out laughing. "Minato, you look like a koala!"

Crack!

Minato snapped the branch, looking disappointed. "Since you don't like this method..."

"No, no, no, Lord Minato! I love this training method!" Nawaki panicked, clinging to Minato's leg as he jumped down from the tree.

Minato chuckled and tapped the trunk again, growing another branch. Nawaki immediately leaped up, embracing the branch and pressing his feet against the trunk.

Seeing this, Minato's lips curled into a smirk. He formed hand seals and said, "Earth Release: Earth Spear!"

Clunk, clunk, clunk...

Sharp earth spikes suddenly erupted around the tree trunk!

"Huh?"

Nawaki, clinging to the trunk, paled at the sight. "Minato, you..."

"It's said that many powerful ninja break through their limits in life-or-death situations," Minato said earnestly. "I think there's truth in that. You're destined to become Hokage, Nawaki. How will you know the extent of your potential if you don't push yourself to the limit?"

"Well then, I'm off to buy groceries. Good luck~"

With that, Minato vanished in a flash.

As Minato disappeared, Nawaki panicked.

"Shit!"

"Minato, come back! I won't make fun of you anymore! I was wrong!"

"Help! Somebody help me—"

Listening to Nawaki's desperate cries, Minato chuckled heartily.

Of course, he wouldn't joke about Nawaki's life. Those earth spears were merely clay decoys, designed primarily for psychological intimidation. They crumbled at a touch and would collapse completely within two minutes.

In the yard, Nawaki clung shakily to the branch, staring down at the forest of sharp earth spears below. He swallowed hard.

Whether due to fear or not, his arms grew increasingly cramped and sore, his palms slick with sweat.

"Minato, I was wrong! Please, just let me down!" Nawaki whimpered pitifully at a nearby clone.

The Wood Clone glanced at him. "You've got the wrong person. I'm just an ordinary clone."

Nawaki chuckled awkwardly. "Then, Clone-bro..."

"Who are you calling 'clone'? Do I not deserve a name? You're such an annoying guy!"

The clone snorted and turned away, several other clones bursting into laughter.

"Ah, Namikaze Minato, you bastard!"

As he shouted, a sudden gust of wind swept past. The earthen spears below melted like ice cream, silently collapsing.

"Huh? A fake?"

Realizing he'd been tricked, Nawaki's face flushed crimson.

"That sneaky bastard!"

"That naturally wicked Namikaze Minato!"

"Damn it all!"

Two hours later, Minato returned from the market with groceries.

The moment he stepped inside, Nawaki dropped from the ceiling and punched him square on the forehead.

"Gotcha! Ha! This is the price for messing with this great lord!"

His words echoed as the Minato before him suddenly exploded with a pop, revealing a wooden stake.

"A decoy?" A flicker of surprise crossed Nawaki's eyes.

Suddenly, an ice cream cone was pressed against his throat.

"You're KO'd!"

Minato appeared behind Nawaki, a hint of amusement in his voice.

"It seems the gap in skill isn't so easy to bridge after all..."

Nawaki took the popsicle, showing no surprise, instead looking quite pleased with himself.

"I've already mastered tree-climbing!"

"Excellent!"

Minato carried the groceries into the living room, then pointed to the small pond in the yard. "Next is water-walking. It's the same principle, but you'll need to constantly adjust your chakra output based on the water's flow. Go ahead."

Minato wasn't surprised that Nawaki had mastered tree-climbing so quickly.

In terms of chakra control, Tsunade was arguably among the strongest in Naruto.

As Tsunade's younger brother, even if Nawaki's talent didn't quite match his sister's, it was still unlikely to be lacking.

"You want more?" Nawaki asked, growing impatient. "Can't we just skip to the actual technique?"

"No," Minato replied, shaking his head. "Chakra cultivation has two main paths: Shape Transformation and Nature Transformation. The Rasengan is the pinnacle of Shape Transformation, and mastering it will indirectly enhance your chakra control."

"Theoretically, if you have the right elemental affinity and can learn the Rasengan, you can learn any ninjutsu!"

"Is that really how it works?" Nawaki asked, a note of disbelief in his voice. If what Minato said was true, this technique's value far surpassed that of ordinary A-rank ninjutsu!

"So... Minato, how long did it take you to master it?"

"If it was just pure training, about three months."

"Three months..." Nawaki's tone was complex.

In that moment, he finally grasped the full extent of Minato's talent...

According to Minato's explanation, if he could master the Rasengan in three months, he could learn any ninjutsu in the same amount of time!

Minato remained unaware of Nawaki's thoughts. Had he known, he might have explained that he usually mastered ordinary techniques with just a single glance.
