Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Mrs. Yousuf’s Eerie Transformation and the Fate of the Bengali Baba

After staring directly into the eyes of the Jinn possessing Mrs. Yousuf, the eldest son felt his fear vanish. He made a firm vow that no matter the cost, he would save his mother. Along with his father, he brought home a Bengali Baba—an expert in these matters who was nearly 103 years old. The Baba had spent his entire life exorcising spirits and Jinns.

As the Baba began his recitations after seeing Mrs. Yousuf, the Jinn inside her erupted into a terrifying, mocking laughter. The Baba assured the family, "I have bound the influence around her; she will be fine in a short while." Since the Baba had traveled from a great distance, Mr. Yousuf's friend went to drop him back home. Before leaving, the Baba instructed them to keep him updated via phone and promised to return in two days.

However, the next day, her condition did not improve at all. When they tried to call the Baba, his phone was switched off. Five days passed with no word. Upon investigation, they discovered he never even reached home, and his family had filed a missing person's report. Finally, they received news that he was in the ICU of a distant Government Hospital.

When Mr. Yousuf and his son arrived at the hospital, the Baba could only fold his hands in a gesture of apology. He was unable to speak. The doctors revealed that since his admission, he had been completely mute, and no one knew who had dropped him off at the hospital. Two days later, the Bengali Baba passed away. No one could understand what had happened to such a powerful expert that left him speechless and broken in his final moments.

Meanwhile, life at home was becoming a living nightmare. The Jinn inside Mrs. Yousuf was Hindu and constantly chanted the names of its deities. It forbade the cooking of meat and fish in the house and would hurl vile abuses at the family. It had an insatiable craving for sweets. Previously, the Jinn remained hidden within Mrs. Yousuf, but now it manifested openly.

One day, when the younger son refused to provide sweets, the Jinn stood up in a rage. Its appearance was haunting—back hunched and body shivering violently, exactly as the cousin's wife had once described. It screamed, "If you won't give me sweets, I will go out and get them myself!"

Mrs. Yousuf began to move toward the door with a strange, rapid gait. The eldest son gathered his courage, grabbed her, and looking straight into her eyes, commanded, "Sit down! Do not make a scene. I will bring you Jalebi from the market." At this, the Jinn calmed down and said with a sinister smile, "I know you are very special."

When the son returned with the Jalebi, the Jinn ate happily and remarked, "I know you are worried about your job. You haven't been going to work because of your mother's health, and your boss has told you not to return from tomorrow." The son was stunned; the Jinn knew exactly what had happened. The Jinn continued, "Do not worry. Go to work tomorrow; your boss will not say a single word to you."

The next day, when the son arrived at the office with a heavy heart, the boss looked at him but said absolutely nothing—as if he had forgotten the entire conflict. This left the son even more deeply troubled, wondering: What does this Jinn
