Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: The Final Confrontation

Mrs. Yousuf's health had become extremely fragile. Although Shah Saab had previously driven the entity away, it had secretly re-entered her body and remained hidden in silence. Even after returning home, she would repeatedly tell her elder children, "I am not well. I feel as if something has bitten or cut me from the inside; I am in immense pain." In reality, it wasn't Mrs. Yousuf speaking, but the entity itself describing its wounded state.

This continued for several days, and Mrs. Yousuf became dangerously weak. Her eldest son, Muhammad Hassan, decided it was time to take her back to Shah Saab. Upon seeing her, Shah Saab immediately declared, "That entity is still inside her."

Shah Saab lit incense sticks and began to threaten the entity with fire. The entity cried out, "I am currently wounded and cannot leave her body yet. For the sake of Allah, give me a few days and I will leave!" Shah Saab gave it a final warning: "If you do not leave her within one week, I will destroy you."

Even after a week, the problem persisted; the entity refused to leave. The family took her back to Shah Saab, who then decided to finish the task. While reciting the Holy Quran, he drove 50 acacia (Babool) thorns into an eggplant. The entity inside Mrs. Yousuf writhed in agony and begged for mercy, but this time, Shah Saab did not relent.

Mrs. Yousuf lost consciousness and only came to after a long time. Shah Saab said, "It is still inside but taking its final breaths. Come back tomorrow." He had effectively "cut" the entity, and blood was visibly seeping out of the eggplant. Mrs. Yousuf was in a terrible state and unable to speak. The family returned home, waiting for the next day.

The following morning, before leaving, Hassan called Shah Saab. He replied, "I am not feeling well today. Only come when I call you. Regardless, that entity is at its end; it will die soon, and seeing its fate, all its companions will flee." Many days passed, and Shah Saab's health did not improve. He looked very ill, and his complexion had turned dark, as if he had taken the burden of the affliction upon himself.

Finally, Shah Saab summoned the family again. He repeated the ritual, driving 50 thorns into another eggplant until blood began to leak from it. He told Hassan, "Put this in a bag, take it home, and hang it on your main gate. Now, whatever entity is inside the house or coming from outside, none shall enter."

Shah Saab also instructed Hassan that once the blood stopped dripping, he should bury the eggplant in a distant, empty field. Following this, Mrs. Yousuf's health finally began to recover, and she started eating and drinking properly again.
