Chapter 8 - The First Uncontrolled Awakening

It happened suddenly.

Mira was returning from the academy in the evening when she heard footsteps behind her. The path was quiet, and the sky had already begun to darken.

She turned slightly.

Three senior students blocked her way.

"Still pretending to be invisible?" one of them laughed.

Mira lowered her head and tried to walk past, but one of them grabbed her arm.

"Don't ignore us," he said sharply.

Fear rushed through her body.

At that moment, the mark on her palm burned violently.

Pain shot through her chest. Her breath became heavy, and her heart pounded wildly.

"Let me go," Mira whispered.

The air around her began to shake.

The ground beneath their feet cracked slightly.

The students froze.

"What is this?" someone shouted.

Mira's fear exploded.

A blinding light burst from her hand.

The force threw everyone backward. Wind roared violently, and the trees around them bent as if bowing to an unseen power.

Mira screamed as the energy surged out of control.

Then — silence.

She collapsed to the ground.

When the dust settled, the path was destroyed. The students lay unconscious, scattered around her.

Mira lay still, her hand glowing softly before finally going dark.

Far away, unseen eyes opened.

Something powerful had awakened.

And the world had felt it.
