Chapter 10 - Giants Really Are Tough as Hell

A hit.

An incomparably heavy hit!

That punch slammed straight into Kashii's abdomen, making his eyes bulge as his massive body flew backward uncontrollably, crashing hard into the wall behind him.

"BOOM!"

"Kashii!!"

Oimo stared in disbelief at his fallen companion.

This was the first time he had ever seen a human capable of doing something like this.

They were warriors of the former Giant Warrior Pirates!

"Giants really are hard to put down," Jin remarked.

That punch hadn't even knocked him unconscious.

Their durability was truly terrifying.

"Cough… cough…"

Blood dripped from the corner of Kashii's mouth, his expression twisted in agony.

That man's strength was monstrous—he had nearly lost consciousness from a single blow.

For a moment, he'd felt as though he were facing the two captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates themselves.

"Clatter—"

At that moment, the inner island gate slowly opened.

The Marines Jin had ordered earlier had clearly succeeded.

"What…?!"

Oimo stared at the opening gate in disbelief.

It had opened?

How?

They had clearly stopped the intruder—no one else had invaded—so why was the gate opening?

"You bastard—is this your doing?!" Oimo roared.

If they failed to guard the gate, then their agreement with the World Government would be void.

And if that happened, how would they ever save their two captains?

"Yes. It was me."

"Then die!"

Oimo swung his massive club down in fury, determined to crush Jin.

As long as the intruder was eliminated, then technically the gate hadn't fallen—right?

Unfortunately for him, that sluggish speed had no chance of hitting Jin.

"Alright. You can lie down too."

Jin stepped in and drove a fist into Oimo's abdomen, blasting him backward to land beside Kashii.

"Damn it…" Kashii gritted his teeth.

If not for this bastard, how would the two of them have ended up like this?

Just then, the roar of the Rocket Man echoed from behind.

Granny Kokoro had clearly driven it straight into Enies Lobby.

Jin glanced back.

The Sea Train had already entered through the front gate.

But at that speed…

Could it really stop?

Granny Kokoro had said the Rocket Man's structure was extremely special—once it started, stopping it wouldn't be easy at all.

If they suffered casualties just because it couldn't brake…

That would be awkward.

"Looks like I can't just kill you two," Jin said, glancing at Oimo and Kashii. "Perfect timing—you can be useful as combat power."

"You two—look into my eyes."

Instinctively, Oimo and Kashii met his gaze.

Their bodies trembled violently, as if resisting something.

But soon, the struggle ceased.

Instead, disbelief filled their faces.

"Captain Dorry… is that you?!"

"And Captain Brogy too?!"

The two giants struggled to their feet, eyes wide with shock.

They couldn't believe what they were seeing.

The two captains they had longed for—standing alive before them?

What… what was going on?!

Jin himself froze slightly.

He hadn't expected this kind of reaction at all.

From this, he obtained two pieces of information.

First—

The effectiveness of genjutsu seemed linked to the target's willpower. Whether this was influenced by the giants' race specifically would require further testing.

They had clearly struggled at first, but once they "saw" something, they stopped resisting entirely.

Second—

These two giants appeared to know the giants from Little Garden.

Which meant…

They were technically on the same side.

So he had nearly beaten his own people to death?

"Captain! Why are you here?!" Kashii asked. "Weren't you imprisoned in Impel Down?!"

At those words, the Marines still able to stand were completely stunned.

What in the world was going on?

There was no sign of Dorry or Brogy anywhere!

Had that so-called ninja done something?

"This is bad… he did something to them," a Marine muttered. "Is this another Devil Fruit ability—no, a ninja technique?!"

They didn't understand it, but instinctively, they felt something was terribly wrong.

"Oimo!"

"Kashii!"

"What are you doing?! Hurry up and kill him!"

"Hm?" Kashii shot a cold look downward. "What did you just say?"

"You want us to attack our captains?!"

"And didn't you say our captains were imprisoned in Impel Down?"

"That's right!" Oimo roared. "To save our captains, we—warriors of the former Giant Warrior Pirates—agreed to guard this gate for a hundred years!"

"But now our captains are right here!"

"Doesn't that mean you lied to us from the very beginning?!"

If these bastards had deceived them all along—

Then they'd show them the true power of Elbaf!

"H-How could that be…" the Marines stammered. "We would never lie to you!"

"It's him! He tricked you!"

"He's not Dorry or Brogy—he's the enemy from earlier!"

Oimo blinked, glanced at Jin—then swung his club down hard.

"Bullshit! That's clearly our captain!"

"Damn Marines! I'll kill you all!" Kashii roared.

In just a few moves, the remaining Marines were completely wiped out.

Then the two giants turned back toward Jin.

"Captain, why are you here?"

"This can wait," Jin said, pointing behind them at the rapidly approaching Rocket Man. "Stop that first."

"Remember—don't damage the Sea Train. There are allies inside."

Oimo glanced at the oncoming train and thumped his chest proudly.

"Leave it to Oimo!"

"Kashii too!"

The two giants tossed aside their weapons and stepped forward.

Then they crouched low, arms extending as if to catch something.

"Clang—!"

"BOOOOM!!"

With the raw strength of giants, they forcibly brought the still-charging Sea Train to a halt.

The friction tore open numerous wounds across their hands, but neither of them paid it any mind.

After setting the train down, Oimo laughed loudly.

"Captain Dorry! I did pretty well, didn't I?!"

"I used more strength than you, Oimo!" Kashii argued back.

Then he turned toward Jin with a grin.

"Captain Brogy, the train's stopped. What should we do next?"

Jin didn't answer immediately.

Instead, he looked toward the people emerging from the carriages.

Though the giants had stopped the Rocket Man perfectly, the sudden inertia still left everyone dizzy.

"What just happened…?" Nami said, holding her head.

"I think I just heard someone shouting Brogy's name…" Usopp muttered, adjusting his mask as he looked around in confusion.

Then his gaze landed on the two towering figures.

"G-G-Giants?!"

At that moment—

Those two massive silhouettes reflected endlessly in Usopp's eyes.
