Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Yakushi Nono

Medical Ninjutsu is great, but if he wanted to use it openly, he had to find a way to justify its source.

Otherwise, as a Ninja Academy student, if he suddenly displayed exquisite Medical Ninjutsu skills and someone noticed something was off, he might be treated directly as a spy.

As for how to justify his mastery of Medical Ninjutsu, he needed to find a suitable method.

"Medical Ninjutsu?"

Hearing Minamikawa Yuu's words, The Old Director suddenly smiled: "That's actually perfect."

"Come with me."

He stood up and gestured for Minamikawa Yuu to follow him.

Minamikawa Yuu followed behind him into another office.

A woman's voice came from inside.

"Please come in."

A moment later, with a sliding sound, the room's door opened.

"Miss Nonou, sorry for the intrusion."

The Old Director looked at the woman in front of him and greeted her with a smile.

Following The Old Director's lead, Minamikawa Yuu looked ahead.

In front of them, a woman sat poised.

The woman wore a grey robe and looked to be in her twenties; she was currently sitting there, seemingly handling paperwork.

Her appearance wasn't particularly exquisite, only considered delicate, but she gave off a unique feeling that was somewhat unusual.

"Nonou?"

Behind the director, seeing the woman's appearance, Minamikawa Yuu's heart stirred: "Could it be her?"

Yakushi Nono, a member of the Konoha Anbu who once served in Root, acting as a spy traveling between various factions to gather intelligence for Konoha.

However, according to what Minamikawa Yuu knew, she had also served at the Orphanage before; as the Orphanage director, she had once come into conflict with Danzo of Root.

The tragedy of Yakushi Kabuto in later generations also stemmed from this.

Of course, these were all things for the future.

At this moment, Yakushi Nonou was merely an ordinary Ninja who had just retired from the Anbu and was about to take over as the Orphanage director.

"Lady Nonou."

Looking at Yakushi Nonou before him, The Old Director's expression was respectful: "I'm not here on official business; I just have a favor to ask of you."

"Please speak, Mr. Sawano."

Looking at The Old Director, Yakushi Nonou's expression was gentle as she spoke softly, reminding him to stand up: "You are my senior; if there's anything, just say it."

"It's about this child."

Sawano Kamikawa's expression was respectful: "I've watched this child grow up; he's currently attending the Ninja Academy..."

He recounted Minamikawa Yuu's experiences and spoke of his ambitions.

"Oh?"

Yakushi Nonou looked at Minamikawa Yuu, a look of surprise appearing on her face: "You want to become a Medical Ninja? That's quite rare."

There are many students at the Ninja Academy, but most aim to become powerful Ninjas.

While it wasn't completely unheard of for someone to want to become a Medical Ninja, it was relatively uncommon.

"Compared to an ordinary Ninja, the path of a Medical Ninja is much harder."

She looked at Minamikawa Yuu and asked seriously: "Are you prepared?"

"Yes."

Minamikawa Yuu nodded: "The path of a Medical Ninja might not be as easy as an ordinary Ninja's, but being able to devote myself to a career I love, I believe that can also be considered a kind of happiness."

"So, I hope Miss Nonou can help me."

As he spoke, his expression was very sincere, wearing the kind of innocent smile unique to children that couldn't help but touch one's heart.

Yakushi Nonou looked at Minamikawa Yuu, and a smile couldn't help but appear on her face as well.

"Alright, then you stay here."

She spoke: "I've just arrived and am about to take over as director. If you have time in the future, you can come by often."

"While my attainments in Medical Ninjutsu aren't exceptionally high, guiding a beginner like you shouldn't be much of a problem."

Yakushi Nonou was actually being modest.

While her Medical Ninjutsu level might not be the absolute top of the Ninja World, it was definitely beyond what ordinary people could compare to.

Her level was definitely stronger than the vast majority of people in Konoha.

"Thank you, Sister Nonou."

A smile immediately broke out on Minamikawa Yuu's face.

After that day, the frequency of Minamikawa Yuu's visits to the Orphanage became much higher than before.

Usually, after classes at the Ninja Academy, whenever he had some spare time, he would go to the Orphanage to find Nonou.

The reason he was so proactive was, of course, to learn Medical Ninjutsu from Nonou.

Naturally, in his spare time, he would also stay at the Orphanage for a while to help Nonou with some chores.

"Your talent for Medical Ninjutsu is outstanding, stronger than the vast majority of people I've seen."

Inside the Orphanage, Nonou looked at Minamikawa Yuu, her face showing surprise once again: "This kind of Chakra control is also a very rare talent."

For a Medical Ninja, the most important ability isn't the quality of Chakra, but the control over it.

As long as Chakra control is sufficient, a Ninja can perform many delicate operations.

And in this regard, Minamikawa Yuu's performance was undoubtedly excellent.

His Chakra manipulation was very strong, allowing him to perform many subtle operations.

And this was precisely the necessary ability to become a Medical Ninja.

Standing there, Minamikawa Yuu tried reaching out, placing one hand on an injured squirrel.

As his Chakra circulated, the wound on the squirrel's body began to heal slowly, and its overall state looked much better than before.

Watching this scene, Nonou's face showed a look of admiration.

"It's just that you teach well, Director."

In front of her, meeting Nonou's gaze, Minamikawa Yuu smiled and then spoke: "If it were just me, no matter how hard I worked, I wouldn't be able to achieve this level in such a short time."

While speaking, he looked up into the distance.

There were several children being noisy, chasing each other and playing in this place.

"What are you looking at?"

Nonou asked.

"Looking at their lives."

Minamikawa Yuu spoke softly: "Actually, if I think about it carefully, if one could let go of everything and live as carefree as they do, that wouldn't be bad either."

"Living in this world, one is always plagued by various troubles; how could anyone truly be carefree?"

Nonou shook her head: "Just like you, Yuu, although you usually seem to be smiling, you must have many things hidden in your heart too."

Nonou was, after all, an outstanding spy who had traveled between various factions; after spending a long time together, she could naturally see Minamikawa Yuu's state.

However, she didn't say much.

After all, on the surface, Minamikawa Yuu was merely a seven-year-old child; even if he had some things on his mind, it didn't amount to much.

"Aren't you the same, Director?"

Minamikawa Yuu smiled: "When it comes to things on one's mind, you don't have many fewer than I do."

"That's the trouble of being an adult."

Nonou didn't deny Minamikawa Yuu's words; she just reached out and patted Minamikawa Yuu's head: "But these are adult troubles and have nothing to do with you, who are still a child."
