"Today's Hero Basics class will be temporarily reassigned. This afternoon's lesson will be jointly taught by me, All Might, and one additional Pro Hero—a total of three instructors."
It had been more than a week since the previous invasion incident. Naturally, the truth had not been publicly disclosed; it was officially explained away as an incident involving reporters. Calm had quickly returned to the campus, but everyone could clearly feel that security patrols and surveillance had been significantly reinforced.
Standing at the podium, Aizawa Shouta addressed Class 1-A with his usual exhausted expression, announcing the afternoon's arrangements.
"Today's lesson will focus on large-scale natural disasters and man-made disasters. The theme is rescue training."
His voice remained flat and unchanging, as if the words themselves required no emotion.
"If it's a flood, that's my specialty, gero."
"Saving the dying and treating the wounded is the duty of a hero! I'm already getting excited!"
The students immediately grew animated, their imaginations running wild as they envisioned themselves using their quirks to shine during rescue operations.
"This time, you may choose your battle uniforms based on your own judgment. Specialized operations require appropriate gear," Aizawa continued.
"The training facility is far from the school, so we'll be taking a bus."
"That's all. Begin preparations."
After speaking, Aizawa pulled a remote from his pocket and pressed it toward the wall. Cabinets embedded in the classroom walls slid open, revealing each student's combat gear.
"Cheer up, Masata!" Yaoyorozu Momo said as she walked over to Igarashi Masata, who was sprawled on his desk, unwilling to move.
"This class lets us experience what real hero work is like ahead of time!"
"Ah… it's kind of boring," Masata muttered weakly, eyes half-lidded.
"I really prefer fighting villains head-on. Rescue work feels too… indirect."
After all, Masata's quirk was born for destruction. It wasn't suited for healing the wounded or rescuing civilians. The only thing he could truly rely on during rescue missions was his overwhelming physical strength.
"You can't think like that, Boss!" Minoru Mineta chimed in as he walked over in his combat uniform.
"Think about it—what if you save a beautiful woman? Maybe she'll thank you with a kiss, or if things go well…"
Mineta quickly sank into his own fantasies, drool nearly forming at the corner of his mouth.
"No," Masata said bluntly, glancing down at the grape-headed boy.
"With your height, I don't think you'd have a chance at all."
Mineta's dream shattered instantly.
Nearby, Midoriya Izuku had also changed. His original combat suit had been damaged in the previous battle, so he was currently wearing a simple training outfit. Still, the familiar accessory around his neck—clearly inspired by All Might—remained.
Masata's own attire was even simpler: just a close-fitting combat vest.
Once most of the class had finished preparing, Masata, now serving as class leader, issued his first official order:
"Alright, everyone—get on the bus and find a seat!"
Unlike traditional class leaders, Masata didn't bother with micromanagement. In his view, Class 1-A was full of capable people. As long as he pointed them in the right direction, things would sort themselves out naturally.
Once on the bus, the long ride quickly turned lively with conversation.
"My Hardening quirk is great for close combat," Kirishima Eijiro said cheerfully, "but sometimes it feels a little… old-fashioned."
"How can you say that?" Masata immediately objected.
"The clash of fists—that raw impact—that's the most exciting part! Your quirk is insanely manly!"
"I think it's cool too," Midoriya said enviously.
"It'll be incredibly useful once you become a pro hero."
"Speaking of you, Izuku," Masata added, "your quirk's also amazing. Simple enhancement, overwhelming power—pure strength breaking through everything. I'm really optimistic about you."
"But if we're talking about power and flair," Masata grinned, "then that's obviously me."
"Hahaha, yeah, that fits you," someone laughed.
Masata showed zero humility.
"But my quirk consumes a lot of stamina," he continued.
"And the destructive power's honestly a little scary. Makes me nervous sometimes."
"Bakugo's quirk is terrifying too," Ashido Mina commented, glancing toward the back of the bus.
"Isn't it basically a walking dynamite pack?"
"Shut up, magma idiot!" Bakugo Katsuki snapped instantly.
"I'll beat you down sooner or later!"
"Alright, we've arrived. Quiet down," Aizawa said from the front.
The bus came to a stop, revealing a massive, unfamiliar structure ahead.
"Hello, everyone!"
Thirteen, the Space Hero, waved enthusiastically from the entrance.
"Welcome to USJ! This is a training facility designed to simulate various natural and man-made disaster scenarios!"
"Wow! It's Space Hero Thirteen!" Uraraka Ochaco exclaimed excitedly, gripping Momo's arm.
"She's amazing during disaster relief missions—I really admire her!"
"Do you want to become a rescue-focused hero in the future, Ochaco?" Masata asked casually.
"Yes!" Ochaco nodded energetically.
"My quirk is really convenient for saving people. I do enjoy combat too, but helping others feels more fulfilling."
"Then leave the villains you encounter to me," Masata said confidently.
"You just stay behind me."
The words sounded dangerously close to a confession.
Ochaco's face instantly turned red.
Meanwhile, Momo's expression beside her subtly darkened.
"Thirteen, where's All Might?" Aizawa asked quietly.
"Wasn't he supposed to meet us here?"
"Well…" Thirteen held up three fingers awkwardly.
"He seems to have used up most of his active time on the way here. He's resting in the lounge."
Thanks to earlier events, All Might's condition was slightly better than in the original timeline—but his limited activity time remained unchanged.
Aizawa sighed.
"Fine. It's only a precautionary lesson anyway. Let's begin."
