Chapter 3 - Chapter 3:The Arrival of the Aberrant Apocalypse — Revenge Begins!

It was no wonder Wu Bei felt confused.

In his previous life, he was always the one who contacted Han Lingxue first.

That woman had never once called him on her own.

Worried that his rebirth might cause a butterfly effect and alter the course of events, Wu Bei decided to answer the call.

"Where the hell did you go? Where's my breakfast?"

Just a single question.

Frost instantly spread across Wu Bei's face.

Rebirth hadn't changed anything.

Han Lingxue was still Han Lingxue.

She hadn't called out of concern or conscience.

The only reason was simple—this morning, he hadn't ordered food for her.

Accustomed to being provided for, she had gone hungry.

Wu Bei forcefully suppressed the killing intent surging in his chest.

Word by word, he replied, "I was preparing a surprise for you. I forgot."

Wrapped in a bathrobe, Han Lingxue stepped out of the bathroom, a cold, mocking smile curling at the corner of her lips.

"Hmph. That surprise had better be big. Otherwise, don't even think about pursuing me anymore."

"Oh, and don't contact me for the next three days. Something came up at home."

Beep. Beep. Beep.

The call ended.

Wu Bei stared at the dark screen.

His arm transformed into a blade.

Something came up at home?

Did she really think he was an idiot?

Still, three days of peace.

Perfect for strengthening himself.

"System, allocate evolution points to the blade arm."

Ding! Congratulations, Host. Your Blade Arm has successfully evolved into Soul-Cleaving Blade Arm.

Soul-Cleaving Blade Arm: Capable of dealing damage to ghost-type entities.

Holy shit. That seals it.

Wu Bei's eyes lit up as he read the description.

He had been worried whether his blade arm could kill Han Lingxue once she turned aberrant.

But now…

That woman was as good as dead.

Three days later.

As Wu Bei devoured the last butterfly inside the Insect Museum, a series of system notifications echoed in his mind.

Ding! Congratulations, Host. You have devoured a Blue-Gray Butterfly. Gained 1 EXP.

Ding! Level up achieved. You have gained 5 free attribute points.

Still no talent?

Wu Bei clicked his tongue in mild annoyance.

Over the past three days, he had devoured at least a hundred thousand insects of various kinds.

Yet aside from experience points, he gained nothing else.

It made him realize just how difficult it was to acquire talents from insects.

If he wanted more talents, he would have to fight aberrations directly.

"System, open the status panel."

Host: Wu BeiRace: HumanLevel: 5Strength: 5Agility: 10Spirit: 5Talent: Soul-Cleaving Blade ArmEXP: 3261/30000Free Attribute Points: 20

Seeing the final line, a smile finally appeared on Wu Bei's face.

Five levels ahead of everyone else from the start.

That alone guaranteed him an overwhelming advantage in the coming apocalypse.

And more importantly—it ensured Han Lingxue's death.

"System, allocate all free attribute points to Agility."

Ding! Allocation complete. Current Agility: 30.

Wu Bei immediately felt the change surge through his body.

Only now did he truly understand why, in his previous life, the government had decreed that anyone with a single attribute exceeding 30 could serve as a regional commander.

Because crossing 30 was genuinely powerful.

To put it bluntly, if Wu Bei entered the Olympics right now, he could easily break the 100-meter sprint record—under four seconds.

Ding.

A message notification drew his attention.

Han Lingxue: I'm back in Jiang City. When are you giving me that surprise?

Reading the message, Wu Bei could no longer suppress the murderous intent boiling inside him.

He quickly typed a reply.

Go to the school concert hall and wait for me. I'll be there soon.

After sending the message, Wu Bei immediately headed out of the museum.

It was 9:30 a.m.

Only thirty minutes remained before the aberrant apocalypse arrived.

Just enough time.

9:50 a.m. Wu Bei arrived at Jiang City University.

Across the campus, men and women alike stared curiously at the sky.

Many even took out their phones, snapping photos under the blood-red moon with their girlfriends or boyfriends, trying to preserve what they believed to be a beautiful moment.

But Wu Bei knew better.

They laughed now, showing off their affection.

Once the aberrations descended, these same people would reveal the ugliest side of human nature.

Girlfriend?

Boyfriend?

In the apocalypse, none of that meant a damn thing.

Still, those matters weren't his concern right now.

All he wanted was to kill Han Lingxue after she turned aberrant and claim the evolution points and the first-kill reward.

Because once the aberrant apocalypse began, everyone would be fully datafied.

And the first person to slay an aberration would receive a unique first-kill bonus.

Wu Bei was already five levels ahead.

He had every reason to maintain that lead.

Otherwise, after killing Han Lingxue, how would he survive the retaliation from the Han family?

Without realizing it, Wu Bei arrived outside the concert hall.

He pushed the door open.

Inside, Han Lingxue sat arrogantly in a chair.

Impatiently, she snapped, "Why are you so slow? Do you have any idea how valuable my time is?"

"Hurry up and show me this surprise. Don't waste my time."

"I still have somewhere to be."

Hearing this, Wu Bei's gaze shifted to the bodyguard standing beside her.

In his previous life, after he signed the contract with Han Lingxue, it was this very bodyguard who tied him up and dragged him back to the Han family.

Now that both of them were here, it saved him some trouble.

With that thought, Wu Bei walked toward Han Lingxue with an icy expression.

His behavior made her frown deeply.

Her tone turned sharp. "Why aren't you saying anything? What do you think you're doing?"

"And who gave you permission to get so close? Step back!"

Wu Bei said nothing.

He simply continued forward.

Something felt wrong.

Han Lingxue immediately barked an order. "Stop him!"

The bodyguard reacted instantly.

The moment her voice fell, he stepped forward, blocking Wu Bei's path.

He shouted, "You piece of trash! Didn't you hear my lady speaking?"

"Back off right now, or—"

Slash.

Before he could finish his sentence, his head hit the ground.

Blood sprayed everywhere, instantly drenching Han Lingxue from head to toe.

Before she could even react, Wu Bei's hand closed around her throat, lifting her into the air.

The sudden turn of events shocked her completely.

She screamed in panic, "Wu Bei! What are you doing?!"

Shh.

Wu Bei raised his other hand and made a quieting gesture.

Then, in a calm voice, he began to count down.

"Ten…"

"Nine…"

"Wu Bei, murder is illegal! Let me go and I can help reduce your sentence!"

"Six…"

"Five…"

"How about this? Let me go and I'll agree to be your girlfriend! That should be enough, right?"

"Three…"

"Two…"

Han Lingxue was truly terrified now.

Believing Wu Bei was counting down to her death, she was just about to offer even more—

When the next second arrived.

The aberrant apocalypse descended.
