Chapter 28 - Study Group

Currently, Ryunosuke was escorting Megumi back to the dormitory. Along the way, they occasionally chatted about Ayanokouji.

"Can you guess what that person named Ayanokouji is thinking?" Ryunosuke asked.

Facing that question, Megumi shook her head. "Ayanokouji-kun is the most difficult type of person to guess that I've ever met."

"He seems to wear many types of masks, and not one of them is his true self. Even if at that time I successfully guessed his thoughts, I'm afraid even that wasn't his real thoughts, but something he was playing."

"He's really a strange person, I can't penetrate him..."

While carrying their school bags, the two arrived at the dormitory.

Ryunosuke sighed. "It's okay, if you can't penetrate him then so be it. That person indeed has quite a complex composition, I also don't expect to be able to deal with him easily."

Megumi felt curious. "Does Akasaka-kun care that much about that friend named Ayanokouji?"

Ryunosuke put on a serious face. "It's not just caring, I consider him the Final Boss."

"Considering a classmate as the Final Boss is a bit excessive, Akasaka-kun."

"I don't think this is excessive. You have no idea how terrifying that person is..."

Ryunosuke escorted Megumi to the front door of the girls' dormitory. After signaling they had arrived, he continued talking.

"That person's terror is beyond your imagination. If not forced, I really don't want to be his enemy. But because I want to get points, I can't avoid this wall named Ayanokouji. Sooner or later, becoming enemies is an inevitable fate."

Megumi nodded in understanding though only half comprehending, then stepped toward the girls' dormitory elevator.

"The next floor is a forbidden area for men, so I can't escort you further. Go to the middle floor and look for room number 405."

Ryunosuke explained while explaining how to use the room access card. "Just tap the card on the door frame. See you tomorrow, Kato."

"Yes, see you tomorrow, Akasaka-kun." Megumi stood in front of the elevator door and waved goodbye.

After quite a while, Ryunosuke breathed a sigh of relief and muttered softly. "If possible, I really don't want to be your enemy, Ayanokouji... Being your enemy is too scary."

The next morning.

Chabashira Sae announced about next month's midterm exam. She also explained that after the exam ended, they could get some points. This immediately made the students who had run out of points and were confused become enthusiastic again.

After the lesson ended, students began whispering and preparing to form study groups to improve their grades. This study group was organized by the most popular students in class, Hirata Yosuke and Kushida Kikyo. However, the figure who was nominally the class leader, Horikita Suzune, was completely ignored—perhaps intentionally by Kushida.

It was very clear that everyone didn't acknowledge this surface leader figure. But Suzune didn't care; she grabbed her bag and was about to leave.

Ayanokouji and Ryunosuke sighed simultaneously.

(Still wanting to be class leader with an attitude like that.) Both thought inwardly.

(Really no self-awareness.) They continued in their hearts.

Ayanokouji again blocked Suzune, signaling her to participate in the study group.

Suzune looked uncomprehending. "Why should I study with a bunch of trash who can't even score 70 on an exam? That will only ruin my grades."

Suzune's flat and self-righteous statement made Ayanokouji pause briefly.

(This person is really difficult to guide...)

Beside them, Ryunosuke held back laughter. Ayanokouji glanced at him with a calm gaze. "You also help."

"Tch," Ryunosuke clicked his tongue annoyed, but he was forced to agree. Blame himself for having sold out Ayanokouji.

As a result, the study group was divided into two. The first group was led by Hirata and Kushida with 36 members.

As known, the total students in class were 40 people. With 36 people taken by the opposing side, the remaining 4 didn't need to be asked.

Namely Ryunosuke, Suzune, Ayanokouji, plus one transparent figure, Megumi. This group truly looked separated from the class.

What was Suzune thinking; what was the use of fighting alone? Did she think she could take down 40 people alone? What kind of joke was that.

Of course, if it was Ayanokouji doing it, consider that statement never said... because he wasn't a normal human.

The four of them arrived at the library and divided areas. On one side was a large group containing 36 people with Hirata and Kushida, on the other side was a pitiful small group containing 4 people.

Ryunosuke laid himself on the table boredly. He hated studying the most. Didn't expect after reincarnating he was still a student; it seemed he couldn't escape the fate of studying!

If possible, he wanted to directly become an adult just to avoid the suffering of studying.

Seeing Ryunosuke so lazy, Megumi could only sigh and stroke his head like coaxing a small child.

"Good child... if you don't study properly, you could be expelled from school. If that happens, your intention to find money to pay debts also won't be possible to achieve..."

Megumi knew exactly Ryunosuke's weak point.

That sentence directly stabbed right at Ryunosuke's solar plexus.

Sure enough, hearing Megumi's words, Ryunosuke instantly became enthusiastic. He grabbed a book and began studying seriously.

This made Suzune and Ayanokouji who were watching from the side look at each other strangely.

"Kato-san really understands him, just one sentence could make him seriously study," Suzune said coldly.

Megumi responded casually, "I'm just a bit good at reading situations, not something great."

But in Ayanokouji's heart he thought: (This is no longer just reading situations, this is already a superpower.)

But on the surface, he only responded flatly.

"Kato-san is indeed great, I also want to learn mind-reading skills."

"I already told you I can't read minds, Ayanokouji-kun," Megumi replied resignedly. No matter how much she explained, Ayanokouji always considered her to have psychic abilities.

Moreover, Ayanokouji often tried to approach her intentionally or not. Although being noticed by others was a happy thing, she didn't want this kind of attention. Megumi felt this person named Ayanokouji was very dangerous; instinctively, she felt a bit reluctant to get close to him.

That's what Megumi thought.

On the other side, Suzune didn't think that far. She just wanted to focus on studying and didn't think about team interests at all. Although Chabashira-sensei had already told them everyone had to pass this exam to get points, Suzune remained selfish and didn't care about her classmates' fate.

This made Ayanokouji feel resigned. He even considered looking for another "tool". Using the current "tool" felt impractical and took a long time to develop.

Ayanokouji unintentionally stared at Ryunosuke who was studying, and his eyes sparkled slightly.

(This one tool... is far stronger than Horikita.)

Ryunosuke who was studying suddenly got goosebumps. He felt a strange cold aura, and when he turned, he found Ayanokouji was staring at him. A bad premonition immediately attacked his heart.

(This is bad, this bastard is targeting me. There must be no good intentions in his head.)
